Carrying out classroom management is one of the teacher's activities in growing and maintaining an effective classroom organization. So, the teacher in producing an active and effective learning process is by managing the class well. Teachers in managing the class must pay attention to the suitability of the educational levels from Elementary School to High School. Teachers, in carrying out their noble duties, must at least understand the manifestations of classroom management such as curriculum, buildings, facilities, teachers themselves, students, class dynamics and the surrounding environment. These components do not stand alone, but are interrelated and influence each other. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using digital flipbook media to teach mocktails. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The study sample was a class of culinary students in the 10th grade at SMK Negeri 27 Jakarta, who were divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. This study collected data using pre- and post-tests, response questionnaires, and observations. The data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and knowledge improvement tests. The univariate test results for the control group obtained a t-count value of 9.78 > t-table 2.05, and the experimental group obtained a t-count value of 16.47 > t-table 2.05. This indicates that there was an increase in knowledge in each group before and after the intervention. The bivariate test results showed a t-count value of 8.18 > t-table 2.00, indicating a difference in the average increase in knowledge. Additionally, the N-gain score was 40% for the control group and 70% for the experimental group. Therefore, it can be concluded that students using digital flipbooks increased their knowledge more than students using PowerPoint media. The results of the response questionnaires for students and observers were also good, at 91% and 96%, respectively. This means that students and observers agreed that digital flipbook media effectively increased students' knowledge. Based on these results, it can be concluded that using digital flipbook media for mocktail material increases students' knowledge of hospitality.

Abstract

This research aimed to explore the translation strategies and identify the types of idioms found in the novel The Adventure of the Speckled Band: Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The study was based on two main theories. Baker’s theory was applied to identify the translation strategies used, including using an idiom of similar meaning but dissimilar form, using an idiom of dissimilar meaning and form, translation by paraphrase, and translation by omission. Meanwhile, McCarthy and O’Dell’s theory was employed to categorize idioms into types such as similes, binomials, proverbs, euphemisms, clichés and fixed statements, and idioms from other languages. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method and was designed as library research. Data were collected through five steps: close reading, identification, note-taking, classification, and coding, in order to ensure the validity of the findings. The results revealed that fifty-eight idioms were identified in the novel. The most frequently used translation strategy was translation by omission, indicating that the translator often chose to exclude idiomatic expressions that might not transfer well into the target language. Furthermore, the most common types of idioms found in the novel were clichés and fixed statements, suggesting the frequent use of conventional expressions in the source text.

Abstract

In today's digital context, artificial intelligence-based tools such as Blackbox AI are increasingly being used by students to complete programming assignments, especially in the field of web development. Blackbox AI is one form of AI that is widely used by students. This study aims to uncover concerns about students' dependence on Blackbox AI, which is considered to have a negative impact on their ability to code (do programming) during lectures or when completing assignments. In addition, there is concern that students may experience a decline in critical thinking skills due to frequent reliance on assistance in completing each existing assignment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the extent to which students depend on Blackbox AI and its impact on critical thinking and coding skills. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collected through a questionnaire using a Likert scale from 30 sixth semester students in the Informatics Education Study Program, Citra Bangsa University. The results of the descriptive analysis, most students felt significant benefits from utilizing Blackbox AI with an average of 77.6%, but they also faced a dependence of 63.8% and a negative effect on understanding and independence of 57.1%. Concerns about the decline in coding skills due to reliance on AI were also quite high, reaching 48.9%. This finding highlights the importance of using Blackbox AI wisely and integrated with traditional learning, so as not to hinder the development of critical thinking skills and the basics of programming in students.
