Abstract

West Kalimantan has extensive peatlands, so its groundwater has a low calcium and fluorine content. The low content of these two minerals can make teeth susceptible to damage and affect the development of children's teeth. The high rate of dental caries in children requires intervention in order to change dental hygiene behavior and prevent further development of dental caries. Method: The intervention was carried out by training dental hygiene to first grade students of SDN 09 North Pontianak and their parents. This study used promotive and preventive approaches by training both parents and children on the proper way to do dental and oral cleaning. Routine training after school in small groups with the assistance of an instructor was held for the students. Parents then help and supervise the child when brushing their teeth at home twice a day and report it in the diary that has been prepared. Result: Behavioral changes including frequency, duration, tooth brushing technique, tongue cleaning, and oral cleaning after eating, were obtained after the intervention. An increase in teeth and mouth cleaning skills was found to be in line with a decrease in plaque value (PHP-M Index) from 29.66 to 16.39. Conclusion: Tooth-brushing training activities can improve children's ability to clean their teeth and mouth. A tooth-brushing diary can be a medium to remind children about when to brush their teeth. The role of parents is to increase children's motivation to develop dental and oral cleaning behavior.

Abstract

Degenerative disease is a disorder in which there is a gradual decline in function or damage to the structure of the body. The services provided at the elderly Posyandu are still limited to checking blood pressure, weighing, providing additional food and health education, but early detection of degenerative diseases has not been carried out, such as heart by checking cholesterol, DM by checking blood sugar levels, and detecting joint disease by checking uric acid levels. The activity method consists of preparation, implementation and evaluation. Preparatory activities are carried out for coordination with partners and preparation of all activity needs. Implementation activities consist of two activities, namely counseling and training on early detection of degenerative diseases. Evaluation is carried out to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of community service activities that have been carried out. The results showed that most of the knowledge of health cadres before counseling had poor knowledge, namely 69.8%, while 23.3% had quite good knowledge and 2.3% already had good knowledge about degenerative diseases. Meanwhile, after counseling, most of the cadres had good knowledge, namely 80.5%. while 19.5% knowledge is quite good. the ability of cadres in early detection through blood tests most of the cadres already have good skills at 88% while 12% are in the sufficient category. The conclusion of this activity is that some cadres have good knowledge and skills after upgrading cadres in early detection of degenerative diseases in the elderly, so this activity is very important to improve the quality of services for the elderly posyandu

Abstract

A teacher is an educator who is required to continuously develop his skills and knowledge. Learning today is no longer learning that can be packaged conventionally if the teacher wants good learning outcomes. Current learning must be able to increase students' interest in learning. One type of learning that is currently trending is learning based on artificial intelligence and Internet of things (IoT). The quality of human resources can be seen from the ability of graduates who have skills, master technology, and have extensive knowledge and professional expertise. To improve the digital literacy competency of educators, the Unej service team carries out community service. The training activities carried out aim to increase teacher competency in utilizing AI and IoT as learning media especially in developingRBL-STEM learning tool. The implementation of this training uses the IHT method, lectures and mentoring. As a result, participants were able to create digital learning assisted by AI and IoT. Based on the results of media trials on students based on pretest and posttest, a probability or Sig value was obtained. (2-tailed) is equal to 0.000 with an alpha of 0.05, meaning there is a significant difference between the results on the pretest and posttest. In the posttest results, it was found that students' scores had increased in their thinking abilities.

Abstract

The Implementation of Fish Feed Technology and Solar Panels is geared towards enhancing fish farming productivity in the Jatiluhur Dam community, village of Kertamanah, Purwakarta, where substantial potential awaits but technological support is lacking. Fish farmers grapple with formidable challenges in the feeding process, including uncontrollable, uneven, and immeasurable feed distribution, resulting in a high mortality rate among the fish. To address these challenges, Community Service (PKM) activities were undertaken, involving the design of an innovative fish feed dispenser with a capacity of 20-30 kg using automatic fish feeder technology. Local partners also underwent intensive training on tool usage, maintenance, and repair. The outcomes reveal that partners can autonomously control feed dispensing through timers on control panels, utilizing remote controls, and determining feeding durations. A significant emphasis of this research lies in the incorporation of solar panels, strategically implemented to power the automatic fish feeder system. This addition enables flexible settings for feeding duration and frequency, facilitated by the integration of a timer and a remote controller for distance control. This solar panel implementation is particularly crucial due to the constraints posed by the Floating Net Cage positioned in the center of the dam. Anticipated benefits encompass heightened efficiency in fish feeding management, a reduction in fish mortality rates, and the fortification of sustainable fish farming productivity. Additionally, the integration of solar panels addresses the energy needs of the system, offering an environmentally friendly alternative in the face of restrictions posed by the cage's location. This research significantly contributes to advancing sustainable fisheries business models, effectively harnessing modern technology within the fisheries sector, and laying the groundwork for innovative policies and practices in the future.
