Abstract

The activity of implementing this community service aims to train participants with the target to be achieved is that participants can develop a Coffee Business based on Ergo-Iconical values. The method implemented is the pre-activity stage in the form of an initial meeting through online media, the Coordination Stage, the Implementation Stage, and the Evaluation Stage. Two known methods for maintaining post-harvest coffee quality are dry processing methods and wet methods. Ergo-iconic value is the superiority of market value with the comfort of typical products with dimensions of comfort in the value of function, comfort in the value of usefulness, and comfort in the value of pleasure. The training results also added marketing theories and facts and the application of product marketing strategies in the industrial 5.0 era so that they could develop their coffee business.

Abstract

Nutrition is one of the factors that play a role in the rate of growth and development of infants as a superior generation in the future. Family mentoring activities are a form of community empowerment by studying existing problems and efforts to overcome them so that families can be free from nutritional problems. This mentoring program aims to help families improve knowledge, feeding practices, and nutritional status before and after family mentoring for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under two years old. This activity was carried out using lecture and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) methods, then continued with assistance in feeding practices. Eight respondents comprised three pregnant women, three breastfeeding mothers, and two children under two years old. The implementation began with strengthening cadres regarding child and maternal feeding practices and how to conduct monitoring and evaluation. The mentoring was carried out for two months with weekly monitoring and evaluation. Based on the mentoring results, there was an increase in knowledge among mothers of toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. In addition, feeding practices also improved, and the weight of children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers also increased. It can be concluded that mentoring focused on feeding practices can improve the nutritional conditions of children and pregnant/breastfeeding mothers who are malnourished.

Abstract

OPT problems are still a major obstacle to organic rice cultivation due to limited understanding and control skills. The aim of implementing community service activities is to provide additional skills and insight regarding OPT control technology with local biological agents to solve the problem of organic rice farming in Bumiagung village, Tegineneng, Pesawaran. Technology transfer activities regarding the application of control with local biological agents to solve the problem of pest attacks on organic rice plants were carried out in Bumiagung Village, Tegineneng, Pesawaran which were carried out in June - October 2022 to the Progressive Organic Farmers Community. The stages of the activity are carried out in stages through conducting surveys, providing material, pre-testing, training and mentoring, post-testing, monitoring, and evaluation at the end of the activity. Before the activity begins, a survey is carried out to analyze conditions and problems and analyze the solutions needed for these problems. Farmers need to gain more knowledge and skills in managing pests that attack their land. The controls that are often used are vegetable pesticides and refugia. From the final evaluation results, the analysis shows that farmers realize that control with biological agents is effortless, inexpensive, and synergistic in supporting organic farming.

Abstract

The behavior of Indonesian netizens is considered the most disrespectful in Southeast Asia, and most netizens in Indonesia are dominated by Gen-Z, who have the highest internet addiction rates. This Community Service Program focuses on digital media literacy for Gen-Z in Malang City. We conducted this program using a participatory method at MAN 1 Malang City with several approaches: a digital media literacy seminar for Gen-Z and an interactive discussion on the use of digital media with Gen-Z. The results of this community service program provide awareness on the use of digital media for Gen-Z students in MAN 1 Malang, regarding: The principles of communication in the use of social media, the Consequences of using digital media on personal data and social interactions, and Production of educational content through digital media. The interactive discussion process shows an imbalance between knowledge and practice of using social media, such as Gen-Z has not yet understood the bad consequences of using social media. However, it has become a user of social media. Another thing, Gen-Z has understood the age limit of social media use, but they are fighting it on the grounds of seeking information and entertainment. Through this community service program, we provide digital literacy model designs to MAN 1 Malang City to demonstrate to Gen-Z students.

Abstract

The government always supports various uses of digital-based technology, which aims to increase the productivity of MSMEs. This social media aims to disseminate messages online about how user activities consume products from the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector. MSME actors have changed their marketing orientation due to the pandemic, and many have turned to electronic commerce (e-commerce) to increase sales. Based on initial observations, MSMEs in Muara Talang village are still using conservative methods in marketing their products to answer the partner problems above and skills training is provided for them. MSMEs in Muara Talang Village, South Barito Regency, about how to make and use social media as an effective and efficient means of selling/promoting products to increase the marketing of their products in the form of types of social media that are widely used to promote and sell MSMEs products.

Abstract

As integral pillars of the fisherman's family and a significant contributor to the family economy, this service program aims to empower fisherwomen to improve the economy through handicrafts offered as souvenirs. An effort to empower women by employing human resources entails the production of handicrafts as souvenirs, which has implications for improving the standard of living for fishing households. Twenty fisherwomen from each Dusun (sub-village) in Pohuwato Timur village participate in the service program. A Pohuwato Timur village office held this community service project for a week, from October 23 to October 29, 2022. The results of this community service demonstrate that the understanding of the subject material and the benefits of the purpose of this service reach a scale of 4, or that understanding of the waste from clam shells is incredibly helpful and valued more. In contrast, the demonstration results indicate a scale of 5, or very good, in the lessons for making handicrafts as souvenirs from shell waste. Moreover, it is expected that the results of this service would change the mindset of fisherwomen, allowing women to achieve more of their potential while also being one of the outstanding products of the village and a product with a high value.

Abstract

This service activity is motivated by efforts to maintain health after the Covid-19 pandemic. The community carries out preventive efforts by providing stocks of their medicines at home. The culture of storing medicines in the household requires proper drug management to prevent drug damage due to improper storage, drug use errors, and environmental pollution due to errors in handling damaged or expired drugs. The pharmacist's role is vital in providing drug management education to the community. Another preventive effort undertaken by the community is to maintain a healthy body by applying a diet where fast food currently contains a lot of Food Additives (BTP), which can threaten long-term public health. For this reason, people need to get an education directly, so they are wise in using BTP. The solution is to educate the public regarding managing household medicines and healthy food for parents and guardians of RA Al Manshur Play Group (KB) students in Bojonegoro. Activities are packaged in counseling methods and training/practice activities. The expected outcome of the activity is an increase in the understanding of guardian parents, as indicated by an average post-test score of >65 with an increase in score of >10% compared to the pretest. By increasing the understanding of parents and teachers about managing medicines and healthy food in the family, it is hoped that conditions of good health and well-being in society will be achieved.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) in the learning process are supported by laboratories or workshops that provide competence to students. The existence of the Teaching Factory program as a result of cooperation between SMKN and industry is one factor that requires the school to prepare quality documents, competent laboratory managers, and skilled students. Therefore, well-organized Laboratory Management will benefit schools, students, laboratory users, and stakeholders. This activity aims to provide understanding and assistance in compiling laboratory quality documents that adopt the SNI ISO 17025:2017 quality management system. This system regulates testing laboratories and calibration laboratories, but it is very appropriate if adopted in several cases to be applied to educational laboratories, especially the preparation of laboratory quality documents. Community Service activities were conducted at SMKN 4 in Bondowoso Regency and SMKN 8 in Jember Regency. Based on the discussion and questionnaire results, the activity showed that at both SMKNs, the understanding of the laboratory quality management system increased (72.7%) for both students and managers (teachers and technicians/labor). Quality documents for levels 2, 3, and 4 at both SMKNs have been compiled. The number of Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) documents at SMKN 4 is 8 SOPs; at SMKN 8, as many as 31 SOPs are based on SNI ISO 17025:2017 laboratory QMS.

Abstract

Low milk production is one of the obstacles to exclusive breastfeeding. This community service activity will occur from December 2022 to February 2023. It starts from the time contract with the participants. It was collected in a place accessible to all participants. When the activity began, the pre-conference sheet was filled out first, followed by the presentation of the theory of oxytocin massage, questions and answers, and demonstrations. After that, it ends with filling out the post-conference sheet. Thirty-four breastfeeding mothers and 34 representatives of a family member (husband or mother's immediate family) participated in this activity. This community service activity has a significant effect on increasing breast milk production and prolactin levels. Therefore, oxytocin massage can be an alternative treatment for midwives, families, and other health workers to increase milk production during the puerperium.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization, mental health is a state of well-being in which a person can realize their abilities, cope with the everyday stresses of life, work productively and contribute to their community. Good mental health enables people to fulfill their potential, cope with the everyday stresses of life, work productively and contribute to their communities, where it is estimated that one in four people will suffer from a mental disorder in their lifetime. Therefore, education was carried out regarding the importance of a mother's and child's mental health in the Siantan Hilir Village. The aim is to increase public knowledge and awareness regarding mental health in the Siantan Hilir Village. The method used in this research is giving interventions, implementing activities, and conducting training. The results of the activities were an increase in mothers' knowledge from 20% to 68% who understood mental health. This activity concludes that there is an increase in public knowledge about mental health, and the community becomes more aware of how to deal with stress or mental health disorders they experience.
