Abstract

Diarrhea is the cause of high mortality and morbidity in children, which is caused by various factors, especially low public awareness and the ability of children to wash their hands, are causes that must be controlled by increasing knowledge. One way to increase knowledge among the Indonesian people with a large population is through empowering health cadres as agents of change, but the dynamics show that health cadres are still unfamiliar with various health promotion media, and Snakes and Ladders media is an effective medium for increasing children's knowledge; therefore empowerment is needed to health cadres. Initiating the empowerment of health cadres to carry out health promotion using snakes and ladders media is a method that can be used because health cadres are the closest part of the community, so that they can reach the community, and games are the suitable media for children. The result of this service is an increase in the knowledge and ability of cadres about health promotion with Snakes and Ladders media. Health cadres are formed who can carry out health promotion using Snakes and Ladders media. There is an increase in children's knowledge and abilities about how to wash their hands with soap. With a sustainable program, the ability to wash hands can continue to increase and prevent the occurrence of diarrheal diseases or various other diseases so that Indonesia's health status increases.

Maggot cultivation training at the Integrated Waste Disposal Site, Tumpang, Malang district. Maggot cultivation practices are carried out on PAMMA land. Several foster children and orphanages had received training and practiced maggot cultivation. Under caregivers' guidance, foster children have successfully cultivated maggots independently at PAMMA by utilizing organic waste obtained from the scope of the orphanage. Abstract

An orphanage is a foster home for individuals who do not have parents and need a place to live and foster parents. The Arrahman Foundation, based in Magelang as a social institution, has carried out various social activities and managed orphanages in Central Java. Community service activities began with the hope of the Arrahman Foundation to increase the number of foster children at the Yogyakarta branch of the orphanage. The orphanage's interior planning needs to support this hope, which can accommodate more foster children by always considering functional and aesthetic aspects. Therefore, the interior redesign is carried out as a Community Service activity to renovate the existing orphanage space with a new one with a more attractive and accommodating design. This interior redesign activity also provides direction and advice regarding interior design to the foundation's management so that it can be applied to other room renovations. The executor of the service, which was carried out online, involved three lecturers from the Faculty of Arts and Design, Maranatha Christian University, Bandung, with whom two Interior Design Undergraduate Program students assisted. The community service activities result in a better understanding of interior design, especially for institutions, and insight into redesigning a building or room.

Abstract

The pandemic situation and digital acceleration have altered ideas on the significance of competence. Various offline restrictions that occur can be utilized to maximize previously acquired competencies. Individuals are responsible for their competency development and must take the initiative to use it. However, this does not preclude the potential that this may occur in response to commands from superiors. This community service aims to provide education on how to maximize competency and the types of activities that may be conducted via the online platform Zoom. A total of 97 workers or employees from various fields participated in the activity. The effectiveness of the activity can be determined by evaluating the activity's participants. According to the evaluation results, 88.2% of the participants thought there was greater insight regarding relevant competencies. The following recommendation for education providers is to investigate offline implementation if situations permit overcoming the restrictions of resource-participant contact.

Abstract

Financial literacy is helpful for learners to recognize the features of the capital market and their instruments. With this knowledge, they are expected to manage their money wisely, especially in selecting the devices. Furthermore, to realize this condition, this service to the community aims to measure this literacy level and recognize risk profiles. The methods utilized in this service are lecture, discussion, and simulation. The participants in this service are the 40 students in the eleventh grade taking social science in the Christian senior high school 1 of BPK Penabur in Cirebon. Also, the precise answers of the students based on financial literacy items are used to evaluate this service. Surprisingly, the correct answers to these basic and advanced items are from 60.53% to 78.95% and 63.16% to 78.95%, respectively, indicating the middle financial level exists. This level is above the national literacy level in 2019 in Indonesia: 38.03%. Besides, related to the risk profile, most students are conservative (47.5%) and moderate (47.5%). Based on this outcome, the students with a conventional risk profile are expected to invest their money in a time-deposit account, government bonds, and fixed-income and money-market mutual funds. Meanwhile, students with a moderate risk profile should place their funds in blue-chip stocks and mixed mutual funds.
