Abstract

Research aims to reveal design of Unnes Physics Education Curriculum related to development of student abilities who lead to creativity and learning in train student creativity who carried out based on the Unnes Physics Education Curriculum. The research method uses descriptive analysis with a quantitative-qualitative approach. The study used triangulation techniques. CPL and CPMK in the 2015 Physics Education Curriculum as samples of documentation method analysis related to train student creativity and interviews to students and distribution questionnaires to find out the level of students creativity. The results of the analysis show the Achievement of Graduate Learning (CPL) and Achievement of Course Learning (CPMK) of curriculum design has a very high creativity criteria with a percentage of 81%. These results are different from interviews result and research questionnaires which show that the implementation of the 2015 Physics Education Curriculum has not been maximized in equipping the creativity of physics education students at the highest level of creativity. It was stated that the results of the average percentage of questionnaires were 68% with high creativity criteria, and interviews were 52% with moderate creativity criteria. The results of the T-test obtained the Sig. (0.002) < 0.05 which indicates a significant difference between the level of student creativity in the field and the level of creativity in the 2015 Physics Education Curriculum design.

Abstract

The results of early observation at SMP N 3 Karanglewas show that the average scientific literacy of students is still relatively low, so an innovative learning approach is needed to train students' scientific literacy. This research aims to determine the effect of CTL implementation contained with ethnoscience on physics learning on student’s scientific literacy and determine its enhancement. This type of research is pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. Sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling at SMP N 3 Karanglewas. The sample in this study was class VIII C, amounting to 30 students. Aspects of scientific literacy in this research knowledge, context, competencies, and attitudes. The instruments used were student response questionnaires, observation sheets, learning devices, pretest and posttest. The results of the data obtained were analyzed using the normality test, t test, N-gain test, and calculation of the average aspects. The results showed that the average value of scientific literacy in the sample class was 77,57. The implementation of the CTL approach with ethnoscience on physics learning is able to increase student literacy skills by 0.583 which are in the medium category. So it can be concluded that the implementation of the approach to contextual teaching and learning (CTL) with ethnoscience on physics learning can increase students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of understanding of the concept, the level of misconception, and the factors causing misconceptions that occur in students of class XI MIPA 2 in SMA Negeri 1 Purwodadi. This research is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative research. The instrument used in this study was a check-list; written test questions that are equipped with student confidence tables in answering questions or the Certainly Of Response Index (CRI); and interview guide sheets. The data collected is then analyzed to determine the students who will take the interview. Interviews were conducted with 9 students who had different levels of concept understanding. Furthermore, data from written test results and interviews are interpreted together with triangulation techniques to obtain conclusions from the research results. The analysis showed that the level of understanding of the concept of class XI students in SMA Negeri 1 Purwodadi on optical equipment material had a percentage of concept understanding of 16%, misconceptions of 55%, and did not understand the concept of 29%. The highest misconception is in the matter of the nature of mirrors and convex lenses in everyday events and special rays in convex mirrors with a percentage of 61%. Factors causing misconceptions among students include examples of questions given by teachers less varied, teachers are too fast in explaining the material, student worksheets are incomplete, there are no practicums that support learning, students do not pay attention, and do not record the material delivered by the teacher, students do not learn before the test takes place, students are not careful in answering questions, and students only memorize the material while learning without understanding the basic concepts of the material.

Abstract

This Based on preliminary research on students of class XI MIPA Mardisiswa Semarang, it was found that the problem of learning motivation and learning outcomes was still low. One way to solve the problem by using audio visual learning media. The fact is students' interest in Instagram is very high. This can be as a learning innovation. In Instagram, students get animated videos and infographics so learning can be more fun. The purpose of this study is to determine the increase in motivation, learning outcomes and student responses after Instagram-assisted learning. This type of research is a Quasy Experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The results of the N-Gain for pretest and posttest showed an increase in motivation after Instagram-assisted physics learning was implemented by 0.55 or in the “medium criteria”. While increasing learning outcomes by 0.73 or “high criteria”. Student response test after applied learning assisted by Instagram obtained a percentage of 82.87% with the category "very good". In conclution, learning assisted by Instagram can be used to improve student learning outcomes and motivation.

Abstract

According the ideas of some experts, Literacy of Science and creativity in some areas are still relatively low. This study aims to determine the application of the MIKiR approach in improving Literacy of Science and student creativity, and is there a relationship between Literacy of Science and creativity.The subjects in this study were class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII C as the control class. The instruments used were tests, questionnaires, and observations. The analysis technique used is the N-gain test, t test, scale test, and simple linear regression test.The results of the N-gain pretest-posttest test were in the medium category and with a low category for Literacy of Science and with a moderate category, and with a low category for creativity. The t-test results of the right-hand value of N-gain literas in science and creativity obtained that t (count)> t (table). The results of the science and creativity literacy questionnaire scale in the experimental class were 51.50 % and 55.30% while the control class was and 50.20%. The results of a simple linear regression test obtained the equation Y = 44.91 + 0.339 X with r (count)> r (table). In the process, learning with the MIKiR approach obtained project values ​​82.81; communication 78.83; and report 69.00. From the four analysis techniques used it can be concluded that the experimental class is better than the control class, but it needs to be given direction to students in the process of making reports.

Abstract

This research aims to know the characteristics of instructional materials physics based I-SETS (Islamic, Science, Environment, Technology, Society) complimented of local wisdom and character values and development of students character after using of instructional materials physics. The research methods used are Research and Development with 4D models according to Thiagarajan. The results of this research showed that instructional materials physics have a characteristic of local wisdom and character values, based I-SETS, good of used with a feasibility percentage of 92.74% and are easily understood with a percentage rate of 95% and are practically used with a practicality value of 82%. The development of religious character, curiosity, environmental care and social care students showed an medium increased. It can be concluded that instructional materials physics based I-SETS (Islamic, Science, Environment, Technology, Society) complimented of local wisdom and character values the are very feasible, easy to understand and practical to use in the learning process and can develop the character in the students.

Abstract

This study applies cooperative learning type think pair share as a substitute for conventional models with lecture methods that are often used by teachers so that they do not actively involve students which results in students being sleepy and not interested in participating in learning physics. Research objectives to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model type think pair share on cognitive learning outcomes and abilities social skills. This study uses a quasy experiment method with a non-equivalent control group design and purposive sampling technique for sampling. This research data collection uses test, observation, and questionnaire methods. In the experimental class the think pair share learning model was applied and the control class applied the conventional learning model. The results of the analysis of research data, obtained n-gain cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental class and the control class of 0.605 and 0.518 with the medium category. Based on the analysis of social skill questionnaire data, the n-gain of the social skills of the experimental class and control class was 0.669 and 0.541 with the medium category. The results of descriptive analysis of the wide observation of social skills in general obtained an average social skills of students in the experimental class by 84,86% with very good criteria and control class by 69,67% with good criteria. It was concluded that the cooperative learning model of think pair share type was effective enough to improve cognitive learning outcomes and social skills ability of class X high school students on business and energy materials.

Abstract

The research aims to develop a learning evaluation tool on Newton's Law material based on a four-level test to determine the quality of the instrument and the ability of the metacognition profile in students. The research design uses R&D (Research and Development) with the latest 4-D learning development model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The sampling experience was carried out at 3 state senior high schools in the ex-residency of Pati, namely SMAN 1 Juwana, SMAN 1 Kudus, and SMAN 1 Rembang with a total of 185 students as respondents. The results of the analysis at the small-scale test development stage resulted in an average validity of 87.26% by experts, a reliability value of 0.68 in the small-scale trial stage, and 0.74 in the large-scale trial. The difference power test on the small-scale examiner resulted in 16.67% of the total questions that could not be used for the next major testing stage. The results showed that for each indicator of metacognition abilities, 31% of students 'factual abilities were in the understanding category, 28% of students' conceptual abilities were categorized as understanding, 32% of students 'conceptual abilities were categorized as understanding, 14% of students' planning abilities were in the understanding category, In the research results for the ability indicator as high as 17%, and the evaluation indicator as much as 6% of students were categorized as understanding. Students in the category of understanding have the highest on the indicator of factual ability, while the lowest is on the indicator of evaluation ability. The research resulted that the four-tier test evaluation tool was feasible to be applied in high schools to be able to explore the profile of students' metacognitive abilities.

Abstract

Motion kinematics is a subject mattern the Engineering Physics course that must be taken by students of the Computer Systems Study Program. The results of observations show that 30% of student learning outcomes are still below 75. This is the basis of research with the aim of knowing student perceptions of understanding the concept of motion kinematics so that lecturers can provide appropriate learning strategies in lectures. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of eight Computer Systems Study Program students who had taken engineering physics courses. The research instruments used were critical thinking skills test questions, test questions and concept understanding questionnaires, which had been validated by experts.The results showed that the students' perceptions of the Computer Systems study program on the concept of motion kinematics, which in terms of critical thinking skills showed, the average achievement of the translation indicator was 78%, the interpretation indicator was 75%, and the extrapolation indicator was 45%. The low achievement of extrapolation indicators shows that the ability of students to make conclusions from a problem is still lacking.

Abstract

This research aims to: produce a physics-based learning media educational games form Rolling Box (Ro-Box) and knowing the increase in interest in learning physics of class X SMA students related to use Rolling Box (Ro-Box) as a medium for learning physics. This research is a research development (R&D) with a 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects of this study consisted of 14 students of class X MIPA 8 and 28 students of class X MIPA 9 in SMA N 2 Semarang. Validation data for lecturers and physics teachers were obtained through a questionnaire. Student response data were obtained through a response questionnaire. Data to increase students' interest in learning were obtained through a questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used in this study were qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data analysis techniques are used to analyze input from both validators and students. Quantitative data analysis techniques are used to analyze the validator's assessment, the results of student response questionnaires, increase interest in learning, and increase student learning outcomes. The results of this study are: based learning media educational games form Rolling Box (Ro-Box) can be applied in learning physics and an increase in students' interest in learning of achievement of 5.9%, including in the good category.
