Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the monitoring, supervision, and curriculum improvement system in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Mandailing Natal (STAIN Madina), assessing its effectiveness in enhancing Arabic language competence and supporting Islamic learning. Utilizing a qualitative research design, the study employs a case study methodology, combining interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that the monev system, involving comprehensive planning, implementation, and reporting, effectively covers graduate competency standards, content standards, process standards, and learning assessment standards. The structured approach, involving multiple stakeholders, ensures thorough evaluation and continuous improvement. However, limitations such as the need for more in-depth internal supervision of content standards and challenges related to human resources and stakeholder engagement were noted. These findings are significant for higher education institutions aiming to enhance their curriculum systems, offering a model for structured monitoring and supervision. Further research is recommended to explore integrated internal supervision mechanisms and long-term effects on student outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the role of principal supervision in enhancing the quality of educational administration services at MAN 1 Kepahiang, using a descriptive qualitative methodology. The research aims to provide insights into the supervisory practices of the principal and their impact on administrative functions. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document reviews, involving the principal, vice-principals, and administrative staff. The analysis follows Miles and Huberman's interactive model, comprising data collection, reduction, visualization, and conclusion drawing. Results indicate that effective principal supervision, characterized by a collaborative and democratic approach, significantly improves the quality of educational administration. The principal’s dual role as a manager and supervisor enhances teacher and staff performance through continuous training and problem-solving strategies. Implications of these findings suggest the need for principals to adopt proactive supervisory roles to foster a culture of continuous improvement. The study’s limitations include its focus on a single institution and the subjective nature of qualitative methods. Future research should consider broader scopes and mixed-method approaches to generalize findings and further examine effective supervisory strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges faced by non-lecturer educational staff in developing human capital and explores leadership solutions within a higher education institution in Bengkulu province. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, data were collected through interviews, observations, and open-ended questionnaires from 20 staff members and two leaders. Key findings reveal difficulties in balancing education and work, limited access to relevant training, and obstacles in skill development. Leadership responses include flexible educational schedules, improved technology infrastructure, and enhanced cross-unit collaboration. The study highlights the need for comprehensive solutions to improve service quality, innovation, and institutional adaptation. Limitations include the study's focus on a single university and reliance on qualitative data. Further research should explore these dynamics across diverse educational contexts and assess the long-term impacts of proposed solutions.

Abstract

The cultivation of true character starts from an early age in children, until they continue into adulthood. Character education is carried out in some ways, one of way is financial education through savings activities at school, either independently through the class treasurer or directly with the bank that comes to school. This research took place from March - May 2023 at eight high schools in the city of Padangsidempuan, which aims to know financial education and its impact on character building, involving students and teachers as the main informants, using the case study method through interviews and direct observation at schools. The results of the research found that (1) financial education is carried out in three ways, namely saving through class cash, saving through the bank, and saving independently at home using a piggy bank, (2) since Covid-19 there are no more banks coming to schools to quote savings to students who want to save, (3) students' low interest in saving, (4) most high school schools in the city of Padangsidempuan do not accommodate financial education through class cash savings activities. The low interest in saving money at high schools in the city of Padangsidempuan is caused by several things, such as the low or underprivileged economic conditions of students' families.
