Abstract

AbstrackThe momentum of reform opened the space for the development of various schools of thought and ideology in the public sphere. This is evidenced by, among other things, the emergence of religious education institutions established on the basis of ideology. That is, the discourse on ideology not only develops in discourse space, but has metamorphosed into a real movement in the social sphere. This paper examines the ideological orientation of kuttab Al Fatih Purwokerto, an elementary education institution that wishes to bring back the past to the future by taking the format and form of educational institution from a source claimed to be the original source of early Islamic education.Keyword: education ideology, kuttab al fatih, Islamic education

Abstract

This research aims at finding various errors in English written texts pruduced by semester 1 students of nursing of Stikes ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta in the Academic Year of 2012/2013.  This research is a descriptive qualitiative research. Sample was taken radomly from 134 texts. The  data in this reseacrh were sentences which have errors.    The result of this research showed seven kinds of errors such as; 1) subject-verb agreement, 2) morphology, 3) diction, 4) preposition and article, 5) mechanics including capitalization and punctuation, 6) frase and sentence composition, and 7) acceptability. There were three factors that cause the errors; language interference, respondents’ limited English grammar understanding and language exposure.  Kata kunci: English teaching in Indonesia, English composition, errors, factor that cause errors

Abstract

Quality education is a major requirement that must be met. Education should be given from an early age, because at that age should be grown to develop children's creativity. The problem is that many PAUD institutions fail to implement Total quality management. Where measures such as quality planing, quality control and quality importvment have not been optimized properly. Departing from that, it is interesting to see the extent to which the quality management is integrated when applied in the PAUD institution. This study aims to describe and analyze critically and to know the Implementation of TQM in PAUD institutions in Play Group IT Harapan Mulia Palembang. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection tool that is: observation, documentation, and interview. So found some findings in the research location that illustrates that the implementation of TQM in PAUD institutions become very necessary in supporting the quality of institutions, educators and students.Key Words ; Total Quality Management, Early Childhood Education and Development

Abstract

Inclusion schools provide opportunities to all students of various backgrounds and conditions within a school system and try to discover and develop the potential of multiple students. In developing the potential of students is not only applied to the students special need but also not special need. For the purposes of developing inclusive education teaching, the special needs of learners need to identify and assess the benefits and constraints, as well as the needs of learners. In its capacity as an educator, academic assessment is the main task and function of the teacher. Therefore, teachers can do an academic assessment. But for other assessments such as medical assessment, psychological, of course must be done by professionals who competence in the field.The curriculum needed for learners with special needs is determined from the assessment results, whether a learner requires modification of the Learning Program Design (RPP) or Individual Learning Program (PPI). Curriculum development in inclusive settings includes duplication, modification, substitution and omission. Teachers in particular schools of inclusion should be provided with knowledge of inclusiveness for children with special needs. Sehinggan ABK can get optimal service.

Abstract

Education is a necessity for every human being, education has the task to form the character, both the character of educators and the character of learners. Al Qur'an letter of Imam Ali 79 paragraph emphasizes the formation of rabbani human beings who will form human beings who love science, love to learn and nagging amar ma'ruf nahi munkar. This review is important to provide an overview of the importance of Islamic education in character building. Therefore, this study can provide a new color for the change of paradigm of Islamic education in conducting academic and non academic activities in an effort to form the character from an early age. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh kompetensi sosial guru PAI terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran akidah akhlak kelas VII di MTsN Model Makassar dan bagaimanakah pengaruh tersebut.            Populasi penelitian adalah 117 siswa kelas VII MTsN Model Makassar. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan tiga metode pengumpulan data yaitu angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis statistik yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tekhnik uji statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan bantuan SPSS 21 dan menggunakan tambahan bantuan program Microsoft Excel. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan taraf signifikan 5%.Hasil uji statistik deskriptiv statistic menggunakan tekhnik inferensial untuk menguji hipotesis “ada pengaruh kompetensi sosial guru PAI terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran akidah akhlak kelas VII di MTsN Model Makassar” ini menunjukkan bahwa r hitung > r tabel (0.208 > 0,180) pada taraf signifikansi 5% maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Persamaan regresinya yaitu Y= 53,616 + 0,334 X. Dari persamaan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari setiap penambahan 1 unit variabel bebas (kompetensi sosial guru PAI) akan meningkatkan nilai variabel terikat (prestasi belajar siswa) sebesar 0,334. Nilai koefisien determinasi (koefisien yang menjelaskan besarnya persentase (%) pengaruh variabel X terhadap variabel Y) sebesar 0,043 artinya pengaruh variabel X terhadap variabel Y sebesar 4,3% sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel yang lain. Dengan kata lain ada pengaruh kompetensi sosial guru PAI terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran akidah akhlak kelas VII di MTsN Model Makassar sebesar 4,3 %.

Abstract

Character building efforts through education in Indonesia can be said to have not been implemented optimally. It is illustrated by the many behaviors of learners that lead to immoral behavior and contrary to the values   of Pancasila. The moral crisis must be addressed immediatelyby increasing efforts to shape the character of good citizens. Character building through education is charged to every subject at school. One of the subjects charged in shaping the character of good citizens is through Civics subjects. The subject of Civics becomes a very effective approach in achieving the goal of character formation. This paper seeks to describe how the role of Civics teacher as a central fi gure in shaping the character of learners in accordance with the expected goals. The method used in this paper is a literature review of ideas that strengthen this paper. Teachers become central figures in the learning process so that the role of teachers is very large in shaping the character of learners in accordance with the value of Pancasila. Teachers must change the paradigm that teachersonly as teachers become educators. That’s because teachers in shaping characters are not through knowledge transfer but are able to bring students in real experience through learning. The role of Civics teachers in forming the character of citizens include 1) the role of teachers as teachers in understanding the values   of characters to be developed; 2) the role of teachers as the compilers of character-based learning devices; 3) the role of teachers as implementers of innovative learning and 4) the role of teachers as role models in character building.Keywords: role of teacher, Civics and character education

Abstract

In fact that the rapid development of science and technology has eroded the values of tolerance on the students shown by no mutual respect and respect for differences. The role of Islamic Religion Education (PAI) teachers as the heir of moral values and religious teaching of Islam were also supported by school culture into away and expected to be able to develop student tolerance. This research was a qualitative research, with the background SMA N 8 Yogyakarta. Data collection was conducted by observation, interview, and documentation. The result shows that: First, the role of PAI teacher for development tolerance through religious culture in SMA N 8 Yogyakarta was a designer, a movers, an evaluator, and a motivator. Second,  the supported factors were adequate facilities and infrastructure such as places of worship and library. Good relationship between principals, teachers and employees, parents and students, and a supportive order. As for the inhibiting factor was the negative impact of science and technology.Keywords: PAI teacher, tolerance, school culture

Abstract

This research aimed at: (1) identifying the authentic materials written in “Cambridge Primary English Stage 4 Learner’s Book”; (2) describing how authentic materials are implemented to teach reading; and (3) describing the problems in implementing authentic materials to teach reading and solutions proposed by the teacher. This research was designed as qualitative case study conducted in Islamic International Private Elementary School in Surakarta. The subject of the research was the English teacher who each reading at the fourth grade of international class program (ICP). The research data were collected through observation, interview, teaching learning documents, textbook analysis and were analyzed by using interactive model proposed by Miles, Hubarman, and Saldana (2014). Findings of the research were: (1) the authentic materials used in “Cambridge Primary English Stage 4 Learner’s Book” were: a) posters, b) book covers, c) cards, d) book index, and e) blurb. (2) The implementation of the use of authentic materials in “Cambridge Primary English Stage 4 Learner’s Book” were: a) posters were used to inform the students the elements of the narrative text or story, b) book covers were used to analyse and guess the content of book or story which is included title, character, setting, plot, and mood based on its covers, c) cards were used by to teach descriptive text, d) book index was used to teach ordered information and e) blurb was used to teach how to identify the content of the story book. Most of the authentic materials were used in pre-reading activities. (3) Five problems in implementing authentic materials to teach reading were: a) the students’ understanding of English grammar, b) the content of authentic material, c) comprehensive linguistic competences to write correct sentence was less related to grammar function, d) language focus related the text which the students was going to write, and e) students’ lack of vocabulary mastery. Four Solutions proposed by the teacher were (a) giving new vocabulary and stimulation words, (b) studying the other example of authentic material related to the material discussed, (c) having discussion with students, and (d) improving students’ understanding about the discussed materials. It is recommended to use textbook entitled “Cambridge English Primary Stage 4 Learner’s Book” not only in the school where the researcher conducted the research, but also in other elementary schools emphasing on teaching reading skill by using authentic materials. Keywords: Authentic Material, Cambridge English Textbook, Reading Skill.

Abstract

This thesis aims to: (1) analyze the influence of contextual learning model on the learning outcomes of the third grade students of SDN 1 and 3 Selang, (2) analyze the influence of contextual learning model through teacher innovation on the learning outcomes of the third grade students of SDN 1 and 3 Selang (3) analyze the differences of contextual learning model and teacher innovation on the learning outcomes of the third grade students of SDN 1 and 3 Selang.This research was conducted in SDN 1 and 3 Selang using sequential explanatory research method. The first stage using qualitative method. Data collection techniques used were interviews, and observations. The second stage using quantitative. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, tests, observation sheets, performance tasks and projects. Data analysis techniques used were qualitative and quantitative.Based on the results, the learning outcomes of learners in the cognitive domain of contextual learning model don’t give a significant influence compared to the contextual learning model through teacher innovation. The result of significance in the first is 0.302 > 0.05, second is 0.244 > 0.05, third is 0.081 > 0.05, fourth is 0.923 > 0.05, then Ho is accepted. The contextual learning model through teacher innovation gives a significant influence on the domain of attitude and psychomotor. The attitude is such as active, cooperative, and responsible. The psychomotor is such as observation, conclusion, money management, and saving skills. Keywords: Contextual Learning Model, Teacher Innovation, Learning Outcomes
