Abstract

Housing is a basic human need, the more dense urban areas result in the ef ectiveness of landas aresidential area must be carried out. Currently, the development of type 33 housing has resulted in the need for multifunctional furniture to save space for activities, which is a growing trend. Based on the results of discussions with the developer on residential type 33, it is planned that there is a need for appropriate planning and research on the use of multifunctional furniture as a space saving solution. The object of studyto be studied is in Bogor City, West Java Province with a residential area of 33m2 and a land area of 60m2consisting of a living room, dining room and pantry, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Based on the problemsabove, the purpose of this study is to examine the design of multifunctional furniture that can accommodatethe activities and behavior of occupants, where multifunctional furniture is one of the solutions to maximizelimited space in dwellings. The purpose of this research is to produce the right solution for the choiceof multifunctional furniture that is felt to be most needed to accommodate user activity and maximize space. The research method used is a qualitative method by examining primary data from survey results and questionnaires as well as secondary data from literature studies to be able to produce the right multifunctional furniture designs for type 33 housing. Abstract

For a variety of indoor activities, humans require artificial lighting, particularly for the activities that need for a task lighting which have focused lighting. Initially, the majority of task lighting design in massive shape and made from manufacturing materials such as metal and frosted glass, which were effective as light reflectors by directing light towards a specific spot in the area that needed to be illuminated. The task lighting cap design has evolved during its development to emphasize the aesthetic qualities of craftsmanship, both in terms of a shape that is no longer massive and using of natural materials that are simpler to procure and manufacture. This frequently results in a change from task lighting to general lighting. In order to restores the right function of task lighting, this experiment was done and the result is products of task lighting with craft aesthetic value that can also be manufactured into effective light reflectors. Bamboo and shells were chosen as the materials that could most closely approximate the quality of metal and frosted glass as light reflectors capable of concentrating lighting at one point in the area in accordance with their function as task lighting through the use of experimental methods from a variety of craft materials that were still possible to form lamp cap. Although bamboo and shell materials, which are made of natural materials, these still have a weak point in lux if compared to manufactured materials cause they have a small amount of absorption, but this can be fixed by changing the lumens of light source.

Abstract

The coastal areas of Makassar City face challenges such as population growth, environmental abrasion, land use conflicts, slums and the emergence of settlements on the water that impact the livelihoods of fishermen and marine resources. This phenomenon emphasizes the need for architectural design that focuses on the order of fishermen's settlements. The research location of the fishermen village arrangement design on Barrang Lompo Island, Sangkarrang Islands District, Makassar City RW004 is mostly inhabited by Jolloro fishermen, an area of 4.14 Ha with a population of 213 people / 216 family heads. The diversity of the island's potential is the basis for considering the need for a structuring concept with a typical fishermen's thematic village theme to maintain the uniqueness and sustainability of Barrang Lompo Island. The results of the concept design of the area arrangement consist of 3 main functions, namely residential, independent economic center, and tourism. In the concept of site arrangement, there are residences, green open spaces, fields, ARSINUM, RESERVOIR, UMKM corner, fishing and tourism docks, and interaction spaces. By applying the Modular Behavior concept, it is expected to provide ease of development and modification in the future, energy efficiency, and the use of environmentally friendly materials. This concept can be a reference for the concept of revitalization of the fishing village area in the case study of RW004 Barrang Lompo Island, Makassar City and can be applied to coastal areas and small islands in Indonesia with different conditions. Keywords : abrasion, area planning, barrang lompo island, modular concept, sustainability

Abstract

The development of the Nusantara Capital City (Ibu Kota Nusantara- IKN) triggers the needs indeveloping Mater Dei Nusantara Senior High School (SMA) complex as a supporting facility. Strategicallylocated in KM 10 Balikpapan, between Penajam Paser Utara and Samarinda, the school site has an extremephysical context of a steep hills, clay shale layers, a hot tropical climate and strong cultural values. Thedevelopment of this high school area faces problems and spatial physical environmental impacts that requiretechnical solutions in the preparation of a comprehensive contextual architectural-based masterplan. Thisstudy aims to generate contextual design guidance in developing the Mater Dei Nusantara High School masterplan through a descriptive-interpretative approach by observation, document review, problemsanalysis to the contextualised design solution generation. The result of the study is a masterplan of Mater Dei High School complex that applies the concept of green architecture that is contextual to the extremeenvironment and adapts the form of local architecture of West Kutai Lamin. This study is expected tobebeneficial in the development strategy of similar extreme environments in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Keywords : Balikpapan, Contextual architecture, Development strategy in the extreme land, Masterplanof the school complex.

Abstract

Abstract

Formal housing stands out as the most favored residential environment for individuals of all ages. Beyond its appealing architectural design, formal housing places a premium on safety, security, and access to public space amenities. These amenities are envisioned to serve as forums for positive social engagement, fostering a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and cohesion. Studies have shown that social interaction in public spaces correlates with heightened place attachment and improved social well-being among residents. This research endeavors to devise an assessment methodology capable of gauging the quality of social interaction in residential public spaces. The ultimate goal is to develop several assessment frameworks derived from a comprehensive literature review on social interaction quality within formal housing complexes. These frameworks will identify key aspects such as social interaction participants, temporal dynamics, activity types, intensity levels, and behavioral settings.
