Abstract

Psychologically, entertainment becomes a secondary human need. An amusement park is one of the entertainment destinations in various countries. An amusement park is designed to have a charm that can attract visitors' attention and provide pleasure or emotional response to visitors. This research is an analytical study of the amusement park environment and its effect on visitors’ moods based on spatial psychology. This study aimed to find out how an amusement park can affect the mood of its visitors from the variables, namely the design approach, amusement rides, and public facilities. The object of research used to analyze these variables is the Saloka Park located in Semarang, Central Java. The research method used was qualitative research with literature analysis methods as well as direct observation and questionnaires to visitors in Saloka Park. In addition, indirect observations were also carried out on the comparison object, Tokyo Disneyland, which is one of the largest theme parks in the world. The results of this study indicate that the design approach, amusement rides, and public facilities in the amusement park environment have certain psychological impacts that automatically affect human feelings in response to the environment. Of the three variables, amusement rides are the variables that contribute the most to mood changes of amusement park visitors. Keywords: Amusement park, mood, space psychology

Abstract

Abstract

Orphanages are social institutions responsible for providing social welfare services to children in need to achieve a better life. Orphanages function as substitute families, with caregivers acting as parents in meeting the developmental needs of children. Children living in orphanages have the right to education, a good environment, health facilities, and adequate nutrition. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs shows that the number of abandoned children has reached 67,368, and the number of orphans has reached 106,406, with 4,800 of them in orphanages, most of which are located on the island of Java. Research shows that 94% of children in orphanages are not orphans, but come from underprivileged families. Life in an orphanage can cause psychological problems for children, such as feelings of inferiority, apathy, and difficulties in social relationships. However, there are still many orphanages in the city of Bandung that experience limited facilities for child care. Therefore, planning needs to be done to meet the needs and feasibility of orphanages both in terms of facilities and paying attention to the psychological condition of children. Abstract

Indonesia is increasingly focused on efforts to reduce global warming, with strategies that emphasize sustainable development approaches that consider environmental impacts. Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) has implemented this measure through its Green Campus initiative, in accordance with Rector Decree No. 205/It3/Lk/2015, which is in line with UI's GreenMetric ranking system. This system assesses universities' commitment to environmental sustainability through indicators such as green infrastructure, energy management, and sustainability-related education. IPB's Department of Forest Products (DHH) building, which has been in operation since 1969, faced the challenge of outdated facilities that did not meet the standards of a flagship campus. As a solution, green design was applied to the materials on the 1st Floor of the DHH Building, referring to the Material Resource and Cycle (MRC) indicator of the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) Greenship Interior Space Version 1.0. The use of environmentally friendly materials aims to improve energy efficiency and comfort, as well as meet Green Campus standards in providing healthy and comfortable educational facilities.
