Abstract

Currently, research performance becomes one of the criterias to determine a university’s rank. This performance is highly dependent on the individual lecturer's research performance. Hence, continuous evaluation of individual lecturer's research performance becomes very important. Lecturer’s performance evaluation is generally done through Lecturer Performance Planning (LPP) and Lecturer Performance Achievement (LAP). However, LPP/LAP does not reflect the actual achievement and overall performance of inidividual lecturer. Thus, a monitoring and evaluation system on the research performance of individual lecturer is necessary to address the issue. The findings presented on this research paper were developed using mixed methods. The qualitative approach was done through observation and interview to gather information on individual research performance. A valid and reliable questionnaire was also developed based on the data obtained from 128 lecturers in Polban who were selected based on purposive random sampling. The collected data were tabulated and described descriptively. Accordingly, a Performance Monitoring Framework of Individual Researcher has also been developed. The final output of this research is an individual research performance mapping. This mapping will be useful for designing research policy to improve the capacity and quality of individual lecturer's performance, which in turn will contribute to improving research performance of related institution.

Abstract

Trading activities both domestic or foreign trade needs a special strategy and technique in order to achieve their maximum target. The global crisis in particular the inclusion of Asian China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) market raise strongly effect for trading company engaged in export trade. This evidenced by the decrease in sales turnover of previous years. The company deems it necessary to conduct the analysis to finds a solution, and able to keep their presence and survive in running the company by reviewing the price and negotiation techniques by using SWOT analysis. The company should improve their quality and create an innovative product as the market needs. Besides that, hope to remain competitive in the international market with their competitors countries such as Thailand, China, Vietnam, India, and other countries. With the SWOT analysis is expected the company can take a decision for increasing their sales. For increasing sales the company also needs to promoting their products and has a negotiation technique that they can attract new customers.

Abstract

In accordance with future tourism, there will be a movement from mass tourism to quality tourism, as a sequence, all sectors that take part in tourism development should develop quality tourism. Ecotourism is one of the quality tourism which aims at sustainability of nature or ecology, economy and social benefit. This study aimed to know the activities of Taman Sari Buwana Ecotourism which has implemented sustainable tourism at Banjar Beng Kaja, Tunjuk Village, Tabanan Regency. Data of this study was collected by using direct observation, depth interview, and documentation. The data is obtained from informants who know the object of the study such as the Head and villagers of Tunjuk Village. After that the data was analysed descriptively. The results of the study showed that the activities of ecotourism in Banjar Beng Kaja include trekking, observing and participating way of life and traditional farming of the local people. Those activities could attract and satisfy the visitors because they could give them new experiences. In addition, they could give a positive contribution to economy, social and environment of Banjar Beng Kaja which is in accordance with the concept of sustainable tourism.

Abstract

Students often got confused and felt hesitant when they speak English. This situation had caused poor speaking ability, which then lead to serious problem in the teaching-learning process. The application of scaffolding technique in the EFL learning might be the ideal solution; it had some principles that could improve the students’ speaking ability. This research is aimed at finding out the effect of the implementing Scaffolding Technique towards the students’ speaking ability. Participants were 50 (27 males and 23 females) third-semester students, enrolled in a three-year diploma program in Travel and Tourism Business, State Polytechnic of Bali in 2017/2018 academic year. The students in the experimental group were given communicative activities such as brainstorming, business games, simulation, WebQuest, problem-solving, which were carefully designed to necessitate the implementation of the scaffolding technique. The students in the control group were taught by the deductive method of the lesson book. The students’ performance in the post-test was compared for both groups in order to determine whether there were significant differences between the groups in relation to the treatment. Significant differences occurring in the experimental group’s post-test speaking performance when compared to the pre-test indicate that the implementation of scaffolding technique can improve students’ speaking ability. The result of this study indicates scaffolding technique has the potential for use in promoting students’ speaking ability

Abstract

Salah satu aspek keterampilan yang diajarkan dalam kemahiran berbahasa Indonesia adalah keterampilan menulis. Pembelajaran menulis sering kurang digemari oleh maha-siswa karena metode pengajarannya dianggap kurang menarik. Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah respons pebelajar dan pengaruhnya terhadap hasil belajar menulis setelah metode quantum diujicobakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode quantum dalam pembelajaran menulis akademik pada pendidikan vokasi S1-Terapan Politeknik Negeri Bali. Kajian ini dilakukan karena kemampuan mahasiswa untuk menulis masih kurang, padahal menulis merupakan bagian dari kemahiran berbahasa Indonesia. Objek kajian penelitian ini adalah proses pembelajaran menulis yang dilandasi dengan metode quantum writing di pendidikan vokasi S1-terapan Politeknik Negeri Bali. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner terhadap 105 mahasiswa semester dua. Data selanjutnya dianalisis dengan Mann-Whitney U-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 85,81 % responden mengatakan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan ini sangat layak untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran menulis akademik. Hasil uji lapangan juga secara signifikan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan prestasi pebelajar. Mann-Whitney U=2.027,5, n1 = 53, n2 = 52, p < 0,05, r = 0,41.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendapat dosen perempuan Jurusan Administrasi Bisnis Politeknik Negeri Bali (PNB). Tujuan yang menjaga penampilan, mencari upaya untuk melihat pertunjukan, mendapatkan pendapat dari peserta berdasarkan laporan visual dengan John Robert Power (JRP). Manfaat penelitian 'meningkatkan pengetahuan dosen perempuan. Ini akan mendukung dosen perempuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan. Kesimpulannya, upaya untuk mencapai penampilan luar, ekspresi wajah dan bahasa tubuh, alasan utama dari pentingnya penampilan sebagai alat komunikasi, dan skor kriteria interpretasi adalah 60-80% di 76,99 yang berarti bahwa pendapat tersebut berada pada interval yang tinggi.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengkaji perbedaan konsep downsizing, outsourcing, kontrak jasa biasa. Analisis penelitian dan uraian berdasarkan pada manajemen sumber daya manusia dan hukum di Indonesia. Metode pengumpulan data dipergunakan metode studi kepustakaan dan pendekatan hukum. Menurut konsep manajemen sumber daya manusia perbedaan pengertian dan penerapan antara downsizing, outsourcing dan kontrak jasa biasa ada pada pengaruhnya terhadap dampak sosial. Dari UU No.13/2003 pasal 64, 65 dan 66 hanya khusus mengatur tentang outsourcing sumber daya manusia, tidak terdapat aturan downsizing dan kontrak jasa biasa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertajuk Nasionalisme Dalam Novel GORA Karya Rabindranath Tagore, terjemahan Felicita Sadeli (1978). Metode yang digunakan adalah New Historicism, metode kritik sastra yang menitikberatkan peran sejarah dalam karya dengan menghubungkan proses penyusunan karya dengan kekuasaan, masyarakat dan ideologi yang berkembang pada masa karya diciptakan. Metode ini menghubungkan aspek sosio-historis dengan komponen linguistik serta aspek struktural. New Historicism diprakarsai oleh Professor Stephen Greenblatt dari Harvard University di tahun 1980an. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini adalah memahami suatu karya melalui konteks budaya dan sejarah. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menginspirasi pembaca lebih mencintai karya sastra yang memberikan warna istimewa serta kesegaran dalam hidup dan kehidupan.

Abstract

Development of the tourism sector in the province of Bali need to be developed in accordance with the conditions, potential and resources owned by each district in Bali. Tourism in fairly rapid growth requires new breakthroughs in anticipation of the saturation that may occur on tourists. Then came the development of tourism opportunities that promote the preservation of the natural environment in order to prevent destruction and/or environmental pollution caused by tourism activities, better known as the " Back to Nature ". Involvement as an alternative tourism attraction will provide an option for international travelers and domestic tourists to enjoy and extend their stay in Bali in particular and Indonesia in general. One of agrotourism development in Bali Bagus Agro Pelaga done by adding, promote or improve the necessary facilities and manage them well so crowded so interesting and beneficial to the government, investors and local communities. Development of the Agro done gradually and in accordance with the concept of development in the area of tourism development does not rule out the required resource sustainability for next generations..

Abstract

Education on Diploma III Travel & Tourism Study Program is aimed at generating power business associate professionals in the travel and tourism field. With the enactment of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation No. 8 of 2012 on the Indonesia Qualifications Framework (KKNI) qualifications level of Indonesian human resources, the Education Studies Program Diploma of Business Travel at the level of 5 is in a position as a supervisor, it is necessary to support the level of competence 5 to support the necessary competence to analyze the competence of graduates by conducting research using the alumni of the last 2 years working in the field of ticketing as a sample. With the snowball method obtained 11 alumni and 3 supervisors ticketing to be interviewed in depth. Results achieved that competency is a skill that any 'key to operate the computer and use the internet and be able to operate online ticket reservation system using a program like Abacus reservation. Other skills should also be held as to understand the ticketing provisions in general, understand the common terms used in the operational flight by IATA, the basis for calculating the price of tickets, look for special fare and the condition (rule) of each special prices as well as to understand the geography of international flight. In addition to the core competencies to become competent resources necessary attributes required soft skills such as initiative, ethics / integrity of critical thinking, willingness to learn, commitment, motivation, enthusiastic, reliable, and creative verbal communication.
