Abstract

Research on central nervous system stimulant activity of the ethanol extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume bark against female white mice with different levels of doses have been done. Testing done by observing the immune system by using a rotary road test, motor activity and sensory observations using automatic tool hole board, and observation of sleep and long sleep induction. Phenobarbital 50 mg / kg bw used as inducted . Preliminary trials showed that the ethanol extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum blume with a dose of 500 mg / kg bw had an effect on the central nervous system. Whereas at the specific testing, the effect on the central nervous looks at a dose of 250 mg / kg bw, which showed a statistically significant difference compared with the control group of animals (P <0.05).

Abstract

The assay was conducted on tannins tea bag on the market Ultraviolet Visible spectrophotometry method. The samples used was tea bags with brand TM, TS, TP, TR, TJ and pure tea as a comparison. Tea powder sample were extracted using 70 % ethanol.to determine the type and content of tannin used catechins. On the quantitative test is obtained maximum wavelength of 222.00 nm catechins. The calibration curve cathecin is y = 0.04943x + 0.06692. with the value count r = 0.9995. The result showed levels of tannins in tea bag brand TM (0.00919 %), TS (0.00882 %), TP (0.00863 %), TR (0.00766 %), TJ (0.01184 %) and pure tea (0.01207 %). The research shows. kruscal wallis test results showed significant difference (P<0,05) between all brands of used tea bag with pure tea and significant difference between each tea bag.

Abstract

Isolation of crude bromelain from pineapple stem has been done using phosphate buffer pH 7.0 as solvent,nthen it was centrifuged at 3,500 rpm for 15 minutes. It’s physicochemical properties then evaluated by it’s organoleptic, solubility, lost of drying, ash content, pH value, microscopic photo, particle size distribution, water absorbtion, protein qualitative and quantitative test. It’s total protein analysis done by using Mikro Kjeldahl method than gave result 8.0384% proteins.

Abstract

A research has been performed on the effect of lubricant to a solid dispersion system of paracetamol tablet with polyetilenglicol 6000, the solid dispersion system of paracetamol-polyetilenglicol 6000 is prepared through the dissolution method with 7 : 3 comparison. Then physiochemical characteristics and dissolution profile evalution is ferformed to three lubricant materials, which is aerosol, stearate magnesium, and talcum.

Abstract

The research on  this study aims determine the effect of ethanol extract of Ceplukan to renal impairment of white male mice. This plant has many major content of flavonoid and polyphenol which is an antioxidants.. The study is conducted by five treatments i.e. negative control, positive control, dose 375 mg/kgBW, 750 mg/kgBW, and 1,500 mg/kgBW. All groups were induced by gentamicin for 7 days. Serum creatinin level and renal histopathology is determined on days 8 and 16. Serum creatinine level is analyzed by one way ANOVA statistical analysis. It show that there is significant differences between each group (p˂0,05). Renal histopathology analysis shows at doses 1,500 mg/kgBW there are more widespread expansion of the urinary space, repair of glomerulus cells which is  damaged, decrease epithelial cells which is enter into the tubular lumen. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of ceplukan can repair renal impairment.

Abstract

The influence of drying method to the quality of sambiloto’s herbal crude had been done. The drying methode that used are oven drying at 45o C, direct sunlight drying and wind drying. The results showed that oven drying gave the best result with drying shrinkage value of 9.1147%, 9.3339% total ash value, acid insoluble ash content of 0.7768%, the levels of water-soluble extract 19.3226% and levels of 17.5160% ethanol-soluble extract.

Abstract

Analisis vitamin C dan B1 pada sampel buah naga merah (Hylocereus lemairel (Hook.) Britton & Rose) dari daerah Kabupaten Agam, Sumatera Barat dengan menggunakan metode spektrofometri UV-Vis. Sampel buah naga merah (Hylocereus lemairel (Hook.) Britton & Rose) diekstraksi dengan menggunakan pelarut air. Kemudian ekstrak sampel diukur dengan alat spektrofotometer ultraviolet untuk vitamin C pada panjang gelombang 265,0 nm, sedangkan untuk vitamin B1 ekstrak sampel ditambahkan larutan dapar amonia, biru bromtimol dan polivinyl alkohol kemudian diukur dengan alat spektrofotometer visible pada panjang gelombang 431,0 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar vitamin C dari Hylocereus lemairel (Hook.) Britton & Rose) yaitu 0,0151 % ± 0,0005. Sedangkan pada penentuan kadar vitamin B1 menunjukkan hasil yaitu 0,1023 % ± 0,0002.

Abstract

Senyawa antioksidan memiliki peran penting dalam kesehatan yang dapat melindungi tubuh terhadap kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh radikal bebas. Salah satu tanaman obat yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan alami adalah daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson ex F. A. Zorn) Fosberg). Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis senyawa kimia dan aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak metanol dan fraksi daun sukun. Daun sukun di maserasi dengan pelarut metanol dan difraksinasi menggunakan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan air. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun sukun mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid,fenolik, tanin, saponin dan steroid. Fraksi n-heksan mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoiddan steroid. Fraksi etil asetat mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik dan tanin, sedangkan fraksi air mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik, saponin dan tanin. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol, fraksi n-heksan, fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi air daun sukun mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 berturut-turut sebesar 471,34, 2511,29, 4182,14 dan 2869,72 µg/mL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol dan fraksi daun sukun memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sangat lemah.
