Abstract

Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan keadaan dimana tingginya kadar kolesterol di dalam darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun sambung nyawa (Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr) terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol total dan histopatologi pembuluh darah aorta. Sediaan diberikan secara oral selama 28 hari dengan dosis 50 mg/kgBB, 150 mg/kgBB, dan 300 mg/kgBB. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan ANOVA satu arah dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan pada kadar kolesterol total dan dapat mepengaruhi gambaran histopatologis pembuluh darah aorta yaitu luas lumen pembuluh darah aorta dan skor kerusakan pembuluh darah secara signifikan (P<0,05) yang berarti pemberian ekstrak etanol daun sambung nyawa (Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr) dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol total dan memperbaiki luas lumen serta menurunkan skor kerusakan pada pembuluh darah. Sedangkan faktor lama pemberian tidak memperlihatkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap rasio berat organ jantung, dan hati (p>0,05), tetapi memperlihatkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap rasio berat organ ginjal (p<0,05).

Abstract

The simple, accurate, sensitive and selective ultraviolet spectrophotometry has been developed and validated for analyzing of propanolol hydrochloride tablets with absorbance and area under curve method. These methods used solvent HCl 0.1 N with wavelength 288.60 nm, and the area under the curve measured at a wavelength of 248-302.80 nm. The calibration curve obtained in the concentration range of 8-16 µg/mL. With absorbance method showed results of the linear regression equation of y = - 0.1516+0.0502x  and value of r = 0.99993 and with the area under curve method showed results of the linear regression equation y  = –2.664+0.7657x  and value of r = 0.99973. The percentage of propanolol hydrochloride tablets with trademark of propanolol HCl absorbance method was 99.21 %  and with area under curve method it showed 101.24 %. The percentage levels of both samples fill the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia standards edition V which was 90–110 %. The average of percent recovery and RSD were obtained from both samples by absorbance and area under curve fill of validation parameters, ie 80-120 % and 1-2 % respectively. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significantly different between both of these method (sig.>0.05).

Abstract

Research about giving influence of combination of chloride (III) chromium with vitamin C to rate kolesterol white mouse blood has been done. Attempt animal is divided by five groups of that is group of control, group given vitamin C 0.52 mg/20 g body weight (BW), group given vitamin C 0.52 mg/20g BW and chromium (III) chloride with dose 5.2; 6.5; and 7.8 g /20g BW. Measurement of cholesterol rate done at day to day 8, 15, and 22 with enzimatis method applies spectrophotometer. Result of research show that giving of combination of chromium (III) chloride at dose 5.2; 6.5; and 7.8 g/20g BW give vitamin C 0.52 mg/20 g BW and give time depth can give influence to rate kolesterol white mouse blood.

Abstract

The research about characterization inclusion complex of ketoconazole-β-cyclodextrin with co-grinding method, with variations 1:1, 1:2,5 and 1:3 has been done. The formed inclusion complexes characterized by x-ray diffraction, IR spectrofotometer, scanning electron microscope and dissolution test. Dissolution test done based on Indonesian Pharmacopeia V Edition using apparatus type 2. The result of research showed that x-ray diphractogram was decreased the peak intensity and change crystalline form to amorphous form, while from IR spectrofotometer was a bit stretch compare with pure ketoconazole which indicate the formation of complex. Based on the results, concluded that the form of inclusion complex can increased dissolution rate from ketoconazole.

Abstract

Study about the influence of Euphorbia hirta L. leaves’s aethanolic extract on the levels of blood LDL in white male mice has been done. The aethanolic extract of Euphorbia hirta L. was given orally once a day for 7 th, 14 th and 21 th days.The doses used were 2, 6, 18 mg/ 20g body weight respectively. Control group was given standard food. Parameter was measured level of blood LDL. The result show that the aethanolic extract of Euphorbia hirta L. does not influence to the levels of LDL, while the time factor for 7 th, 14 th and 21 th days showed a significant effect (p <0.05).

Abstract

Evaluation about the effect of dimethyl sulfoxide in ketoconazole gel formulation and its penetration using Franz diffusion cell membrane has been done. This gel formulation was using base are dimethyl sulfoxide and tragacant. The vertical type cell of Franz diffusion cell, was used for the penetration test and its quantity determination was done by using spectrophotometry method. The ketoconazole penetration quantity and its capacity of penetrating from dimethyl sulfoxide and tragacanth base are F1: 8.34µg/mL and 21.275%, F2: 10.36µg/mL and 13.705%  F3: 6.56 µg/mL and 16.318% then F4: 10.36µg/mL and 26.030%.

Abstract

Influence of the ethanolic extracts of Sumateran ginseng (Talinum triangulare  (Jacq.) Willd) on SGOT and SGPT activities in serum of male mice induced CCl4 has been done. The extract was given orally once a day for 14, 21, and 28 days respectively,at various doses 125, 250, and 500 mg/kg BW. The group of mice treated with Na CMC 0,5 % was used as control. The results suggest a possible hepatoprotective potential of the ethanol extract of Talinum triangulare  can decrease the SGOT and SGPT activities on male mice induced CCl4.

Abstract

The effect of HPMC and gom arabic to do dissolution ability of carbamazepine tablets made by wet granulation has been. There are 5 formulas of carbamazepine granules, mind each formula was containing 40% w/w of carbamazepine. Carbamazepine wese coated by HPMC polymers and gom arabic by spray drying process. formula 0 countain carbamazepine with coanted HPMC and  gom arabic witle formula 1 and 2 is countain carbamazepine coated by HPMC polymers with  concentration 5% w/w and 10% w/w respectively. Formula 3 and 4 is countain  carbamazepine which counted by gom arabic with  concentration 5% and 10% respectively. The result shows that formula 2 show the highest dissolution rate 134.7133%.

Abstract

The influence of particle size toward the characteristics of Metronidazole tablets has been studied. Metronidazole that is used for first formua is not crushed, for the second formula is used Metronidazole powder cruhed for 30 minutes, and for the third formula is used Metronidazole powder that is crushed for 3 hours. The crushing process of the powder is done by using Ball mill. The result is analysed by SEM, DTA, FT IR, and particle distribution. DTA data (mettler Toledo) shows the changing of thermodynamic characteristics that occurs when the sample is given heat energy in form of melting shown by endoterm. From the three formula are made Metronidazole tablets by using wet granulation. The formulations of Metronidazole use mucilago gelatin as a binder, lactose as excipients, amylum as desintegrant and aerosil as a lubricant. Tablet evaluation involves the same size, same weight, the strength determining of level and dissolution. Dissolution test is done by using basket method and the level determined by the method of UV Spectrophotometer  at the maximum absorption wavelength of 276.5 nm in HCl 0,1 N. The result of the assay formula 1 is 82,6248%, the formula 2 is 87.3086% and the formula 3 is 95.7037%. Result of dissolution measurement at 60 minutes showed that the average dissolution is 47.902%, 68,584% and 69.320%. The dissolution profile test uses HCl 0,1 N. The analysis of dissolution profile is done by the equality orde 0, orde 1, Higuchi and Korsmeyer peppas. Dissolution profile of Metronidazole tablets approach to Korsmeyer peppas.

Abstract

Pengujian efek toksisitas sub akut ekstrak etanol daun sembung (Blumea balsamifera (L). DC) terhadap fungsi hati dan ginjal pada mencit putih jantan telah dilakukan. Sebanyak 36 ekor mencit putih jantan berusia 2-3 bulan dengan berat badan 20-30 gram digunakan sebagai hewan uji. Hewan dibagi dalam 4 kelompok yaitu 1 kelompok kontrol dan 3 kelompok perlakuan yang diberi ekstrak etanol daun sembung (Blumea balsamifera (L). DC) dengan dosis 100 mg/kg BB, 150 mg/kg BB, dan 250 mg/kg BB diberikan sekali sehari secara oral selama 21 hari. Parameter yang diamati yaitu aktivitas SGPT, kadar kreatinin dalam serum dan penentuan berat relatif organ hati dan ginjal. Data aktivitas SGPT, kreatinin serum dan penentuan berat relatif organ dianalisis dengan ANOVA dua arah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun sembung dengan dosis 100 mg/kg BB, 150 mg/kg BB dan 250 mg/kg BB tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap aktivitas SGPT, kadar kreatinin dalam serum dan berat relatif organ hati dan ginjal (p > 0,05). Jadi pemberian variasi dosis dan lama pemberian ekstrak daun sembung (Blumea balsamifera (L). DC) tidak menimbulkan efek toksik secara sub akut terhadap fungsi hati dan ginjal pada mencit putih jantan (p > 0,05).
