Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the STEAM learning model to improving the skills of elementary school students in the city of Yogyakarta. This study uses a narrative method with interview techniques. The research subject was a class IV teacher at MI Wahid Hasyim Yogyakarta. The results of the study show that the application of the STEAM learning model can be used to improve literacy skills at the elementary school level. This literacy skill is important to have to help with critical thinking, creative thinking, being able to solve problems, and having good communication skills. This STEAM learning model also provides an atmosphere that is in accordance with real life in the learning activities carried out, making it easier for students to reason and be active while in the classroom. The application of the STEAM model is carried out with planning that is adjusted to the curriculum and characteristics of students; in practice, each topic is discussed according to the science component of the STEAM model, and the assessment is carried out in accordance with STEAM learning objectives, namely making learning more meaningful by collaborating material with real life.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the use of concrete media for the activeness of student learning in mathematics learning grade IIb SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This study used observation and interview techniques in data collection. The results showed that students actively learn in learning mathematics using concrete objects. In mathematics learning, learners are interested and learners are engaged in learning, as well as listening more and paying attention to what the teacher is conveying. This in learning situations shows an active, creative, and fun atmosphere. Active, creative, and fun learning if carried out continuously, it can increase students' interest in mathematics learning so that learning will be achieved. It is hoped that researchers can provide theoretical as well as practical benefits for the development of education, especially those related to the development of education in elementary schools. Learners can be seen listening to math learning in earnest. Based on the results of observations and interviews, students pay attention, listen, write, actively ask and answer, and do problems so that students feel happy in learning using concrete media in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find the strength of the character education of honesty and responsibility of students at SD Negeri Pedurungan Lor 02 Semarang, the efforts made by the school and parents to increase the strength of honest character and responsibility through morning habituation. The type of research conducted is qualitative research with the results written containing a report of data quotations to provide a presentation of the results. The research was conducted at SD N Pedurungan lor 02 Semarang with the subject of 4th-grade students and teachers. Data collection techniques were taken from interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are the implementation of strengthening integrity character education through morning habits according to the plans made by the teacher. The teacher checks the contents of the attendance board that has been provided. The teacher also communicates well in determining rules and sanctions for students if they violate them, while parents monitor children's activities at home when doing habituation activities. To make students honest and responsible for what they do, teachers and parents have strategies to improve the characters by giving rewards or strict sanctions if they violate them.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Gerak Dakon Wayang learning media on FPB KPK mathematics for grade IV, to improve students' problem-solving abilities and analyze the validity and suitability of learning media. The R&D method by Borg and Gall uses 6 steps; potentials and problems, data collection, product design, expert validation, design revision, and product testing. The subjects in this study are fourth grade at SDN Pajomblangan. Data were analyzed qualitatively from the results of interviews with teachers, students and quantitatively analyzed from the point of view of teachers, students, media experts, and material experts. The results of the study concluded that learning media complies with the Borg and Gall procedures to obtain criteria suitable for use. The media design uses a wooden box measuring which contains 40 small partitions equipped with tajo wayang as dakon seeds and material books and instructions for use. This media is valid and suitable for use in learning based on validation of media experts 90.59% and material experts 90%, analysis of the student responses is 96% and analysis of the teacher responses is 96.67%. Media improves students' problem-solving abilities based on pretest and posttest scores from the "Enough" mastery criterion to "Very Good" mastery criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of students' critical thinking skills on mathematics learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative method with a causal approach. The research subjects were fifth grade students of SDN Karadenan with a sample of 47 students from 90 students obtained using the Taro Yamane formula. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Testing prerequisite analysis in the form of the Liliefors test and Fisher's exact test. The results showed that there was an influence between Critical Thinking Ability (X) on Mathematics Learning Outcomes (Y) statistically proven by the results of the significance test and the regression equation = - 14,4 + (0,98X). This means that for every one unit increase in the critical thinking ability variable, student learning outcomes will also increase by 0.98 units. The strength between Critical Thinking Ability (X) on Mathematics Learning Outcomes (Y) is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of (rxy) 0,97 with a determination coefficient of 0,9467. This shows that there is a significant positive influence between students' critical thinking skills on mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the learning difficulties in geometric material and the factors that caused class 2A students at Sampangan 2 Elementary School to have difficulty understanding the geometric concept. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were class 2A students at SDN Sampangan 2, which consisted of 14 male students and 14 female students. The techniques used in collecting data in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. From the research results, information was obtained that class 2A students at SDN Sampangan 2 had learning difficulties as follows: 1) class 2A students had difficulty distinguishing the various geometric shapes, 2) class 2A students had difficulty understanding the concepts of ribs, sides, corner points in a geometric shape. Following are some of the causes for class 2A students having learning difficulties; 1) the teacher only uses the lecture method so students get bored easily, 2) the teacher has not used learning media and concrete objects, 3) students do not understand basic geometric terms such as ribs, sides, points, corners.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of problem-based learning models in the formation of student learning independence. This research was conducted at SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang. The method used in this research is to use descriptive qualitative methods. The technique used in collecting data using observation and questionnaires / questionnaires containing 20 questions with 5 indicators. The question indicators include not depending on other people, self-confidence, responsibility, initiative and motivation. The results of the participants' responses as many as 28 respondents to the learning independence indicator were accumulated to get 94% results into the positive category, so that it can be said that the problem based learning model can shape the learning independence of grade 3 students at SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang.

Abstract

Learning media is a tool in the teaching and learning process provided by the teacher regarding the material being taught to increase interaction between teachers and students and eliminate boredom in participating in learning so that it can encourage the learning process, therefore students need the development of learning media. This study aims to produce animation video media products based on Powtoon on statistics material in class IV SDN 21 Hanging with a total response of 18 students for the 2021/2022 academic year. This study uses the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Field trials were carried out only on a limited basis. The instrument used in this study consisted of an expert validation sheet and a student response questionnaire instrument. The data analysis technique consists of an analysis of the feasibility of learning media. The results showed that the animation video based on Powtoon that was developed was feasible to be used as a learning media in class IV in statistics learning based on the average value of material expert validation of 93.33% and the average value of media validation of 77.14% and an average value of 77.14%. The average value of the language is 86.66%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the School Literacy Movement and supporting infrastructure for the School Literacy Movement in SD Islam Darul Huda. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection procedures in this study used observation techniques, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results showed that the School Literacy Movement at Darul Huda Islamic Elementary School, Genuk District, Semarang City was going well. The percentage with the highest result is 92% in class II, which means that the implementation of the School Literacy Movement has gone very well. The highest percentage of questionnaire results is in supporting facilities and infrastructure, namely class I with a result of 89%. Grades I to grade VI have implemented the School Literacy Movement. Supporting facilities and infrastructure for the School Literacy Movement at Darul Huda Islamic Elementary School, namely a library that provides fiction and non-fiction reading books in clean and comfortable conditions for reading, in each class there is no specific reading corner but there are bookshelves to store books.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Problem Based Learning Learning Model on the magnetic properties of natural science subjects. This research method uses a qualitative methodology. This study uses data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. Researchers analyzed data from research results in a qualitative description. This study obtained the results that the problem-based learning model had a positive effect on student learning activities on the magnetic properties of science subjects, the percentage results showed that after the application of the problem-based learning model as many as 25 students scored above the KKM with a total percentage of 92.5% and as many as 2 students scored below the KKM with a total percentage of 7.4%. The problem-based learning learning model is a learning model that is useful for encouraging students to learn actively and be able to solve their own problems so that the learning outcomes produced by students can be remembered continuously.Â
