Abstract

This training was held at Universitas Harapan Medan which is located at Jl. Imam Bonjol No. 35 Medan. Based on the results of observations carried out by the service team, several problems faced by students at the university were obtained, especially those related to English. Most of them still don't dare to communicate in English and are still passive when there are activities or competitions held by the campus, such as English debate competitions. English language experts consider English Debate to be very effective when applied to improve speaking. It is hoped that students will be more enthusiastic about participating in English debate training if it is combined with video blog (vlog) media. Video media is a type of audio-visual media. This media can increase students' interest in learning because students can listen and see pictures. Service activities are carried out in three stages. The first stage is the preparation stage. In this stage, the service team carries out a preliminary survey to see the conditions in partners and also look for problems faced by students, especially in terms of English. The next stage is the stage of implementing community service activities. The final stage is the evaluation stage. In this stage, evaluation is carried out on the results achieved by the training participants. Further input and improvements can be made at this stage. Evaluation is provided by collecting data obtained from training activities.

Abstract

The revitalization of the SMK curriculum projects serves that students are not only ready to work but also be able to create jobs through entrepreneurship. SMK Students are provided additional hours of entrepreneurship coursework in order to foster creativity, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset among students. Furthermore, students are also required to possess a social entrepreneurial mindset, which encompasses a business development perspective that takes into account social, economic, environmental, and health factors. In this program, students are given training in making soap from used cooking oil. Used cooking oil is a waste that has promising business prospects. Appropriate processing of used cooking oil can yield valuable products that satisfy the needs of the community. As a result of this training, up to 97% of students have acquired greater understanding regarding the hazards and advantages associated with used cooking oil. Students possess advanced skills in producing soap products using used cooking oil. Furthermore, students develop a greater awareness regarding health and the environment.

Abstract

The Community Service Program is carried out in collaboration with PDAM Mual Nauli, Tapanuli Tengah, as proposed under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the State Polytechnic of Medan and the Government of Sibolga City. It also serves as the realization of the Community Service Program that supports the accreditation excellence for the Master of Applied Accounting Information Systems (MTSIA) program. The purpose of this activity is to assist PDAM Mual Nauli in addressing specific challenges, particularly related to human resources and public services as a water supply company in the region. The specific objectives of this Community Service Program are to provide solutions in the areas of management, human resource management, and the improvement of production quality in public service delivery to the water users of PDAM Mual Nauli. The method in implementing this community service activity involves stages such as surveys, interviews, observations, and confirmation with PDAM Mual Nauli as the partner. The interviews are conducted by the Community Service Team at the PDAM Mual Nauli office. After obtaining the data, analysis is carried out and explained in a descriptive form with explanations supported by graphic information, tables, and other relevant elements. The three activities implemented at PDAM Mual Nauli include public speaking training, internal control training, and financial reporting training. Abstract

This PKM is carried out for an MSME, namely Medan Outdoor Equipmet (MOE) which is an MSME that is very creative in the production of car tents used for off road activities and for various other cars. MOE is a business in the field of equipment that is indeed very much in demand by young people, especially those who like camping activities, MOE has been established since 2016 and is always learning to improve its production activities. The aim is to assist production activities carried out by MOE MSMEs and to improve the quality of branding and financial management. The production of car tents that is carried out is really still very manual and is indeed done by yourself. The production of this car tent is carried out in small quantities, because it is done manually and does not have workers. Actually, market demand is very high but manufacturing or productivity is still very low due to limited equipment and human resources that can manage it. Thus, in addition to the needs related to equipment that can help the production of the car tent, branding and financial management are also needed in connection with this Medan Outdoor Equipment MSME . Branding is an effort that can be done in order to improve the quality and capability of the product to be produced and of course good financial management, will be able to improve the quality of a good product as well. Abstract

The general purpose of implementing this activity is as a form of higher education tri dharma activities which are carried out every year using DIPA Polmed funds. While the special objective is to improve the ability of MSMEs in the business world and participate in efforts to develop regional economic capacity. PKM activities have been carried out at the Waroeng Cemilan Amimi Business. Community Partnership Service (PkM) activities are carried out with a focus on the development of MSMEs called Waroeng Cemilan Amimi. Through the implementation of PKM, assistance is carried out to increase the understanding of business owners related to making simple financial statements to support their business continuity. In addition, in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the business, assistance was provided in the form of chest freezers and electric ovens to increase efficiency and product diversification. The results of this PkM activity show an increase in the understanding of Waroeng Cemilan Amimi owners in preparing financial statements, so that they are able to manage their business better. The provision of additional equipment such as chest freezers and ovens has helped in expanding production as well as increasing product competitiveness. Thus, this PKM activity has succeeded in making a positive contribution to the sustainability and development of local MSMEs, in line with efforts to support microeconomic recovery during the pandemic. Abstract

Community Service (PkM) activities have been carried out with the title domestic violence, socialization of law number 23 of 2004 concerning the elimination of domestic violence in Tanjung Harapan Village, Serba Jadi District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The lack of knowledge among village residents regarding the legal consequences of domestic violence has an impact on the potential for family disharmony in the future. Therefore, families need to be provided with enlightened legal education in living family life in order to avoid violence in the family environment. The method used in PkM activities is in the form of legal education counseling/socialization which includes face-to-face lectures accompanied by question-and-answer discussions. The results obtained from this PkM activity have further enlightened and increased the understanding of the residents of Tanjung Harapan village that domestic violence can trigger prolonged marital breakdown and even divorce. The conclusion of this PkM activity material is that domestic violence is a violation of human rights and a crime against human dignity and is a form of discrimination. Violence in any form and carried out for any reason is a form of crime that cannot be justified and can be reported as a criminal act so that the perpetrator can be prosecuted

Abstract

Background: Balanced nutrition is one of the things that the government pays special attention to, considering that there are still many school-age children who are considered not to have balanced nutrition, one of the government's efforts to support improving children's balanced nutrition is by providing balanced nutrition education. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of balanced nutrition on the knowledge and attitudes of children at the Sejahtera IV elementary school in Bandar Lampung. Method: This research is a quantitative experimental study with one pretest and posttest group on 40 elementary school age children in grades 4-6, which was carried out on May 2024 at SD Sejahtrera IV Bandar Lampung. The data obtained using a questionnaire were then processed using SPSS software. and presented in table form which will then be explained further. Results: The results of this study show an increase in knowledge and attitudes after education with a significant influence between balanced nutrition education and knowledge (p-value 0.029, 0.002, 0.000 (<0.05) and there is no significant influence between balanced nutrition education and children's attitudes (p-value 0.134, 0.132, 0.522 (>0.005)). Conclusion: From the results of this research, it was found that balanced nutrition education for children is very important in improving children's knowledge and attitudes. Abstract

Bener Village is one of the villages in Majenang District. MSMEs in this village experienced a decline in income. They market their products conventionally or open physical stores. To increase their income, they need training to market their products in different ways, such as using internet marketing through social media. The purpose of this service is to provide understanding and training about the use of internet marketing via social media in marketing for MSMEs. The instruments used were questionnaires, laptops, smartphones and LCD projectors. Data was obtained from a questionnaire and then the percentage was calculated. The result of this service is an increase in participants' understanding of internet marketing and an increase in product sales for MSME players.

Abstract

Socialization activities related to the urgency of how to speak well in conveying Islamic material well without hurting feelings or offending other religions is something very basic. The aims of PKM are (1) to increase understanding of how to speak in Islamic da'wah communication, (2) to improve understanding of the concept of Allah as Rabb for participants. The method used in socializing the lexeme "Allah" without personified language to the congregation of the Al Hikmah Mosque. prayers Medan Tembung District is lecture and discussion. Providing lectures and discussions in the implementation of this service is based on the theory of media discourse analysis by paying attention to how it should be: conveying Islamic da'wah orally regarding the lexeme Allah/Rabb, not offending other people in speaking, and speaking management as a strategy so that mosque congregants become more enthusiastic when listening to the preaching. Islam. .The results obtained in this PKM are increased understanding of how to speak in Islamic da'wah communication, (2) improved understanding of the concept of Allah as Rabb by service participants. With the implementation of this PKM, the presentation of rhetoric related to the lexeme Allah as da'wah material is more developed and interesting, and makes it easier for the audience to accept the objectives of the da'wah regarding the concept of the lexeme Allah/Rabb based on the meaning of the words in the Al-Quran Surah Al Ikhlas.

Abstract

Innovative learning combines information and communication technology as well as collaboration between students and teachers based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) with a focus on 21st-century learning skills. This learning is packaged in the TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge) platform. The problem faced by partners is that teachers are not yet fully able to implement TPACK-based innovative learning. This community service aims to provide training and assistance so that teachers can implement innovative TPACK-based learning. The service methods used are training and mentoring. Service activities consist of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The final results of the training and mentoring carried out were the level of mastery of knowledge and information in the field of technology-based learning media (such as Canva, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality) reaching 85%, mastery of innovative learning models (Problem-Based Learning and Project Based Learning at 90%, and the ability to compose TPACK-based teaching modules was 87%. Thus it can be concluded that the training and mentoring carried out has proven successful in developing teachers' skills in implementing TPACK-based innovative learning.
