Abstract

This community service program was conducted at SAS English Laboratory, a non-formal educational institution focused on English language instruction. The program involved 12 tutors who were actively engaged in teaching, yet had not integrated character development as an added value in their instructional process. Character strengthening—especially through emotional cultivation (olah rasa)—is essential for shaping learners with strong emotional and social resilience. To address this issue, the program was implemented through three main stages: socialization, application of science and technology (IPTEK), and training on designing character education rubrics. The training incorporated the cultural wisdom of Mangupa, which emphasizes mutual tolerance, respect, self-confidence, and effective communication as core values of good character. As a result, the tutors were able to develop and apply character assessment rubrics in their teaching practices. These rubrics serve as a tool to reduce the likelihood of students becoming victims of bullying, both in educational and social environments. In-depth interviews revealed that the tutors fully supported the implementation of character assessment, even within a non-formal educational context. This program demonstrates that character education rooted in local culture can be effectively integrated into English language teaching.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Catfish is one of the livestock fish commodities that has great potential to be developed, because it has a high omega content that is beneficial for the human body, especially children who are experiencing physical development. The abundance of catfish and moringa leaves in Dawuhan Kulon Village, Kedungbanteng District, which are local foods, can be utilized to become processed foods that have added value in terms of nutrition that will affect their growth and development. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to improve community skills in processing local foods (catfish and moringa leaves) which are made into nuggets and making product packaging that is safe for processed foods for toddlers. The implementation method consists of the preparation stage, implementation of monitoring and evaluation. At the preparation stage, it is in the form of preparation of tools, human resources and a place of manufacture. The process of making and monitoring evaluation. Counseling was provided to 47 participants, mothers and cadres about stunting and pre-test and post-test evaluations were carried out. The average knowledge of cadres and mothers of toddlers increased after counseling, and the majority of toddlers aged 2-3 years were 18 (48.65%), while the gender of the toddlers was mostly female (56.76%), the nutritional status of very short children was 9 children (24.32%), and short children (75.68%). Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the quality of educational services at Kindergarten Schools (TK) in South Cikarang through performance evaluation techniques based on the SERVQUAL method. The main problem identified was that there had been no systematic measurement of the quality of educational services at the school. The SERVQUAL method was used with five main dimensions, namely Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, and Tangibles. The activity began with observations and interviews with the school to understand the initial conditions of the service. Furthermore, training and counseling were carried out for the school regarding the importance of performance evaluation and the use of questionnaires based on the five dimensions of service quality. The evaluation results showed a gap between parents' expectations and perceptions of the services provided. This gap is used as a basis for priority service improvements, especially in dimensions with the largest differences. This activity provides benefits for schools in improving and enhancing the quality of education in a sustainable manner and involving the active role of parents in the evaluation process

Abstract

The widespread development of digital technology has created enormous opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to grow their businesses. E-commerce is one of the digital platforms that facilitates online transactions, enabling businesses to expand their markets, reduce costs, and enhance distribution efficiency. However, not all MSMEs can effectively utilize this technology for their products, particularly in urban areas where digital literacy gaps persist, such as in the Perak Barat neighborhood. In response to this situation, Group 14 of the SDGs Community Service Program (KKN) from UPN “Veteran” East Java conducted outreach and training sessions on photography, social media branding, and e-commerce basics, with the aim of enhancing the digital capabilities of MSMEs in business management, marketing, and network development. The method used was qualitative descriptive, with data collection through direct observation. The results of this mentoring program showed a significant increase in SME operators who have begun adopting e-commerce, as evidenced by their active participation in creating accounts and uploading SME products.

Abstract

In Mekarsari Village, Sumedang Regency, the registration of waqf land is a persistent problem because many people have donated their property, yet it has not been properly certified. Many people still don't understand how to register land waqf. This will be detrimental to many parties if the waqf land leads to disputes. This service aims to determine the level of understanding of land waqf administration in Mekarsari Village using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which is an approach aimed at learning to overcome problems and meet the practical needs of the community, as well as producing knowledge and the process of socio-religious change. From the community service activities carried out, it was found that the residents of Mekarsari Village can understand land ownership administration well. The socialization conducted raises awareness among the residents of Mekarsari village to prioritize administrative order in land waqf. The discussion regarding the provisions for waqf land certification was understandable to representatives of the majelis ta'lim groups and several educational institutions from the Mekarsari village community, as well as their commitment to actively and supportively engage with the various dynamics of waqf in society. The community is also able to understand the implications that arise if there is no written evidence in the form of certificates, AIW, or a replacement deed for the deed of waqf (hereinafter referred to as APAIW).

Abstract

Halal certification is the process of issuing a halal certificate, which is carried out through a series of inspection stages to ensure that the raw materials, production processes, and halal assurance system of a company's products meet the applicable standards. The absence of halal certification limits marketing opportunities, increases the risk of contamination with non-halal ingredients, and decreases consumer trust. Based on these conditions, this community service activity is carried out with the aim of increasing the understanding and awareness of micro-business actors regarding the importance of halal certification. The methods used include socializing the concept, urgency, and process of halal certification; providing technical assistance in meeting administrative requirements; and assisting with the halal certification process. The results of the activity show an increase in business actors' understanding of halal certification. A total of 12 micro-business owners who were previously uncertified agreed to participate in this program, and 10 of them successfully completed the creation of their Business Identification Number (NIB) and filled out the PTSP Sihalal form. The halal process assistance shows that the participants' business activities have met the requirements of the Halal Product Assurance. The recommendations and conclusions of the assistance results were submitted to the Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) and the Halal Product Assurance Implementing Agency (BPJPH), which were then processed by the MUI Fatwa Council for the issuance of halal certificates.

Abstract

When discussing mawaqit in pesantren, it becomes clear that not all pesantren implement theory and practice in the same manner. One of these practices is when it's time for prayer. Astronomy is the idea of using arithmetic to calculate things within various Islamic rules. The purpose of this service is to use mentoring to help the community in Sumedang Regency better understand ijtihad and astronomy. The method used is qualitative, where the service provider is the main tool, sample, and data source. The results focus on meaning rather than generalization. The results of this investigation reveal that determining the direction of the Qibla mathematically is difficult in some places. Spherical astronomy and geography are the main issues with prayer direction. There are two ways to determine when the month in the Islamic calendar begins: the calculation method and the observation method. To know the time of Imsak, you also need to know the time of the Subuh prayer. Muslims often miscalculate the time of the Subuh prayer when trying to determine it. Some rules regarding the height of the sun were made by experts through ijtihad. The Ministry of Religious Affairs uses this ijtihad to determine when dawn begins, when true dawn light is visible on the eastern horizon before sunrise, and when the sun is below the eastern horizon until it is visible.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman secara sosial tentang perceraian yang tidak diajukan ke pengadilan. Dari sudut pandang sosial, keabsahan perceraian yang tidak dilajukan ke pengadilan dianggap sah. Sebagaiman terjadi pada masayarakat Desa Sukatani Kecamatan Compreng Kabupaten Subang. Namun, menurut perundang-undangan dan Kompilasi Hukum Islam, hal itu tidak sah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sikap masyarakat dan dampak perceraian yang tidak diajukan ke pengadilan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Sukatani Kecamatan Compreng Kabupaten Subang sampai adanya pendampingan tentang aturan perceraian yang tidak diajukan ke pengadilan. Riset ini menggunakan metode pendampingan (Personal Aproach dan Community Aproach), metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi pustaka (library research) dengan mengkaji topik-topik yang ada di buku, jurnal dan berita-berita yang faktual yang berhubungan dengan penelitian dengan melakukan analisi terhadap isi (content analysis) dan waancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada dasarnya perceraian yang tidak diajukan ke pengadilan di Desa Sukatani Kecamatan Compreng dianggap sah, dikarenakan mereka tidak tahu aturan, tidak mau ke pengadilan, tidak mau resiko biaya dan takut ke pengadilan. Hal ini disebabkan karena mereka ketidaktahuan tentang aturan perceraian secara sah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa dampak dari pereceraian yang tidak diajukan ke pengadilan adalah legitimasi perceraian, hak asuh, warisan dan kesulitan administrasi.

Abstract

Bangun Sari Village in Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, has excellent potential in wine cultivation. However, the business actors still face challenges in product marketing. This training program aims to increase the capacity of vineyard entrepreneurs through training in modern marketing strategies, digital marketing, product packaging, and business institutional formation. The method includes socialization, workshops, direct practice, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The results showed a significant increase in partner skills, the formation of a wine farmer group, and a sales turnover. This activity is expected to be a model for the sustainable development of village-based horticultural agricultural MSMEs.

Abstract

Pada masa menopause terdapat beberapa masalah yang terjadi yaitu gangguan sulit tidur, rasa panas dibagian wajah, leher serta bagian dada (hot flashes), dan perubahan emosional yang mengakibatkan lebih sensitif. Salah satu terapi alternative yang dapat digunakan yaitu dengan aromaterapi minyak esensial yang berasal dari tanaman yang mengandung minyak atsiri. Penggunaan aromaterapi dilakukan dengan cara dihirup, sehingga kandungan di dalam minyak atsiri ditangkap oleh otak, yang dapat memberikan kenyamanan serta efek relaksasi. Tumbuhan serai adalah salah satu jenis tanaman yang memiliki kandungan minyak atsiri yang dapat membantu memperbaiki atau menjaga kesehatan dan memperbaiki kenyamanan emosional. Maka dari itu pada kesempatan kali ini yang dilaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengolahan aromaterapi dari minyak serai (Cymbopogon Citratus) sebagai anti depresan pada wanita menopause di Desa Tajau Landung Rt 03 Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sungai Tabuk 1 Kabupaten Banjar. Dilakukannya penyuluhan serta demonstrasi menggunakan media power point kepada para wanita menopause mengenai pengolahan aromaterapi dari tanaman serai (Cymbopogon Citratus) sebagai anti depresan untuk mengurangi ketidaknyamanan pada masa menopause.
