Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa SMK swasta di Karawang. Jika memang terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan maka seberapa kuat pengaruh kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar tersebut terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei dengan analisis korelasi dan regresi linier berganda, yaitu menghubungkan antara data yang menunjukkan kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar dengan data yang menunjukkan prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris. Data tentang variabel kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar diperoleh melalui tes dan angket yang disusun oleh peneliti, yaitu mengukur hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan dua hal di atas. Sedangkan data tentang prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris diperoleh melalui tes langsung yang dilaksanakan oleh peneliti terhadap responden. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa SMK Swasta di Karawang, hal tesebut dibuktikan dengan Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan Fhitung = 69,557; (2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kemampuan membaca bahasa Inggris terhadap prestasi belajar siswa SMK Swasta di Karawang, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan thitung = 7,742; dan (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa SMK Swasta di Karawang, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan thitung = 2,821.

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the response of E-portfolio on EFL students’ speaking classroom. This study conducted to examines whether e-portfolio has good effect on improving student speaking skill. This study conducted at one of the junior high school in Bandung in the academic year 2019/2020. Seven students participated in this study. The type of this study was qualitative research and its design was a case study. The data obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The findings of the research showed that E-portfolio has a positive response from the students. It was proven by the result of the data that the students helped by using E-portfolio as a speaking learning media. In addition, the result of this study indicates that E-portfolio is an interesting learning media to help students on their listening skills.

Abstract

Kutai language as one of the local languages in East Borneo, was necessarily maintained from generation to generation. The effort of maintaining language has been variously applied through the lens of local wisdom existed in culturally product. Proverb is the culture product of Kutai Kartanegara. There are many moral messages contained in Kutai Kartangera proverbs. This study examines the functions of traditional utterances of Kutai Kartanegara within descriptive qualitative method. The theory of Traditional Utterance Function by Danandjaya was used in the study. The library approach was applied to collect the data. The study was expected to contribute the horizon, to improve the references correlating to the function of traditional utterances particularly in Kutai Kartanegara proverbs and to be the references to the other researchers who were relevance to the study. The result showed that the functions of traditional utterances on Kutai proverbs were the four functions of traditional utterances namely the functions of education, individual ethical value, moral and social respectively

Abstract

Kehidupan manusia dalam masyarakat tidak lepas dari interaksi dengan yang lainnya. Manusia sebagai makhluk sosial tidak dapat hidup sendiri, tetapi membutuhkan orang lain dalam berbagai hal, seperti pergaulan, pekerjaan, pertolongan, keamanan, dll. Semua itu merupakan bentuk interaksi sosial yang nyata. Maka, untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang ada dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat diperlukan sikap kepedulian terhadap masyarakat yang dapat memfasilitasi dan menyelesaikan masalah secara efisien. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana remaja pada Karang Taruna di desa Sungai Manau dan bagaimana remaja muda mengatasi hambatan dalam kegiatan sosial masyarakat di desa Sungai Manau. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yaitu “pendekatan dengan melihat objek penelitian sebagai suatu sistem artinya objek penelitian dipandang sebagai suatu kesatuan yang terdiri dari unsur-unsur yang saling berkaitan dan mendeskripsikan fenomena yang ada. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran remaja dalam kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran pemuda dalam kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan sangat baik.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of conducting the research is to explore the problems faced in implementing learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic with the aim of knowing 1) how to implement learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, and 2) what are the obstacles in implementing learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach by conducting a study of previous research. The data analyzed in the study were obtained through Google Scholar pages with the keyword "covid-19 and education". A search on the google cendikia page refers to 6 journals that meet the research criteria. Based on the results of the research data analysis, it can be concluded that several things include: 1) online learning is the best effort that can be done in order to break the chain of the spread of the covid-19 virus, especially in the field of education, 2) Online learning can be done using various internet-based applications such as WhatsApp Group, Zoom Cloud Meeting, Google Classroom, Google Form, Quipper, e-mail and ect, 3) the obstacles faced in implementing online learning activities include the lack of supporting facilities and infrastructure, unstable internet services, requiring a large enough quota, not yet evenly distributed human resources who master technology well, communication in the learning process does not go well, limited learning methods are applied in learning activities, and lack of supervision of the development of students. Abstract

Vocabulary plays an important role in learning a foreign language. In order to communicate well in a foreign language, students should learn adequate number of words and should know how to use them accurately (Huyen & Nga, 2003). Moreover, students usually feel bored quickly as teachers often use conventional methods of teaching especially in teaching vocabulary (Zou, Wang, Xie, & Kohnke, 2018). This study was investigating the students’ cognitive engagement in learning vocabulary throughEducard media. The objectives of this study was to find out the way Educard facilitated the students’ cognitive engagement in learning vocabulary through Educard and students’ responses. The participant of this research is students of eighth grade in one of junior high school.This study used qualitative approach. The data were collected by distributing the questionnaire, interview to 5 students of eighth grade and documentation. To analyze the data, this research adopted Miles, Huberman Saldaña (2014) techniques; data collection, reduction, display and verification. It showed students are facilitated by using Educard as learning mdia to learn vocabulary and engage them cognitively. There are many kind of cognitive engagement has been engaged in their learning while using Educard to learn English vocabulary such as : self- regualted learning, resource management, recepience and taks focus. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kekhususan gaya bahasa dalam buku fiksi Untukmu di Hari Kemarin karya Galih Hidayatullah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya bahasa dalam buku fiksi Untukmu di Hari Kemarin karya Galih Hidayatullah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Objek penelitian ini berupa gaya bahasa yang digunakan oleh Galih Hidayatullah dalam buku fiksi Untukmu di Hari Kemarin. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah buku fiksi karya Galih Hidayatullah. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pustaka dan catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan teknik pilah unsur penentu. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu ditemukannya gaya bahasa berdasarkan teori Gorys Keraf, yaitu gaya bahasa repetisi dan gaya bahasa personifikasi. Pada dua judul puisi terdapat tiga macam gaya bahasa, adapun gaya bahasa tersebut diantaranya, gaya bahasa aliterasi, gaya bahasa tautologi, gaya bahasa personifikasi, gaya bahasa paradoks, gaya bahasa antitesis, dan gaya bahasa hipalase.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine personal effectiveness in implementing character education for elementary school students using token economy techniques. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent design. The population in this study were 226 students of SD Negeri 1 Jatianom for the 2019/2020 academic year, and using clustering sampling. Data collection using character education instruments. The results of the posttest scores in the experimental group using paired t test with a significance value of .000. The significance value .000 is <0.05, so there is a significant difference between before receiving treatment and after receiving treatment. Can provide personal social guidance with token economy techniques that effectively implement character education.

Abstract

The background of this research problem is that less than 5% of the 121,895 Playgroup institutions in West Java are accredited. This identifies that the implementation of the Play Group is not yet in accordance with the national education standards. The purpose of this study is to describe the efforts and obstacles of the management of the Anak Mulia Play Group in Cibogo Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency in taking accreditation as an effort to improve the quality of implementation according to national education standards. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The conclusion of this research is that Playgroup managers show that: (1) managers need serious efforts, by mobilizing their resources, including energy, costs, time, funds and conducting intensive mentoring to fellow Play Group institution that have successfully achieved accreditation institutions, and (2) the obstacles experienced by managers are the limited ability to fill in accreditation data online, the lack of order in documenting the implementation of Play Groups, limited operational funds for the institution and not fully understand the contents of the National Education Standards document

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to find and to describe the implemetation of inquiry method in Englishlearning proces in MTs Nurussaadah Poltangan. It will be found the teachers’ obstacles in theinquiry method implementation. Inquiry method is a method focuses to the student’s ability to thinksistematicaly, critical and logicaly. The method of this research is describtive qualitative. The datawas taken from observation and interview results. The result showed that (1) the teachers in MTsNurussaadah Poltangan was uncommon to apply inquiry method in English learning. (2) theteacher’s obstacles in inquiry method implementation, such as uneffectiveness in numver of studentsin the classroom, lack of classroom facilities, and time duration.
