Abstract

Language is one of the communication tools used by everyone in interacting with other people. Every word spoken by a language speaker has meaning and purpose, either directly or indirectly. Any expression that belongs to a face-threatening act, whatever it may be and goes against the wishes of the speaker's face, and any part of the speech is considered a face-threatening act. Pragmatics is a strategy to analyze what is the purpose of understanding speech, in pragmatics, there is politeness to knowing how people express negative and positive faces. When people talk to other people, they apply both positive and negative faces in communication to save threatening actions. In this study, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone analyzed face- threatening actions using the theory of Brown and Levison. In the study aims to determine the verbal face shape used by Rubeus Hagrid in the film. The research procedure is watching a movie or script on youtube, identifying and paying attention to the forms of actions that threaten their faces and classifying positive and negative politeness strategies. The results showed that there are 24 face-threatening actions from 3 forms of threatening actions (actions that threaten the listener's positive face, actions that threaten the listener's negative face, and actions that threaten the speaker's positive) and 4 threatening strategies1)Off –record, 2) Bald on record, 3) negative politeness, 4) positive politeness. Abstract

This study examines the references in the short story "Laut Mengambil Cintaku" by Jemmy Piran. The data in this study are in the form of speech or dialogue in short stories in which there are grammatical aspects, namely references. The source of the data in this research is one of the collections of short stories from Jawa Pos entitled "Laut Mengambil Cintaku"  by Jemmy Piran. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, and used listen and note method in collecting data. The data analysis method used in this study is agih method. The results of data analysis showed that the form of referential markers in the short story "Laut Mengambil Cintaku"  by Jemmy Piran includes 1) persona reference (first person reference, second person reference, and third person reference), 2) demonstrative reference (time-indicating pronouns and place-indicating pronouns), and 3) comparative reference. Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the process of developing persuasive text teaching materials for class VIII students and (2) describe the feasibility of teaching persuasive texts for class VIII students. This type of research is research and development using the Borg and Gall model. as for the stages of research and development of persuasive text teaching materials through the stages of potential and problem analysis, data collection, product design, design validation, and revisions modified by Sugiyono to the fifth stage. The research sample was 30 class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sibolangit using the Purposive Sample technique. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research instrument is material expert validation using Likert. Analysis of research data using descriptive qualitative study. The results of material expert validation obtained an overall percentage score of 83%, including the "very good" criteria, for content 84%, presentation 85%, language 83%, and conceptual assessment 80%. Media experts received an overall score of 83% for the media aspect, including the "excellent" criteria. Based on the research data analysis, we can conclude that the persuasive text teaching materials for class VIII students are "appropriate" to be used as supporting teaching materials in the learning process. Abstract

The thread KKN di Desa Penari, which was written by the SimpleMan Twitter account, has recently been the subject of discussion in cyberspace. This article focuses on the topic of netizens' reception of the KKN di Desa Penari thread, which was written by the SimpleMan account on Twitter social media. This research uses qualitative research. The material object of this research is the KKN di Desa Penari thread from SimpleMan's Twitter account. The formal object of this research is the comments of netizens in the thread. The research data is the contents of the thread, netizens' reception of the thread, and various information related to the research topic. Data interpretation techniques are carried out by uncovering how netizen responses can influence the popularity of the thread by using literary reception theory. The theory of literary reception has two basic concepts, namely horizon of expectation' and 'open space'. These two things form the basis for understanding the theory of literary reception. The phenomenon of 'the power of netizens' turned out to be very influential in the popularity of threads written by the SimpleMan Twitter account KKN di Desa Penari. Abstract

Currently, film is no longer interpreted as a work of visual art, but as a social representation and mass communication. In which there is a lot of social interaction to build a good film. While film can also be interpreted as a means to convey messages conveyed to the community. Film is a new facility for all humans to work both in writing and orally which can provide visualization into a film. So film as a means of mass communication also functions as a cultural transmission in society. Laskar Pelangi film with educational and social themes is understood as a representation of cultural reality that shows how a culture works and lives in a society. So that film can be said to be an effective medium in cultural learning by the community. This research is a cultural studies research with a subjective research approach. Through the unit of analysis in the form of the Laskar Pelangi film, this concept reflects a number of educational cultural findings such as the still weak education sector due to the uneven distribution of the education budget that is not optimal, the pretentiousness of education because it is more concerned with prestige than skills, lack of respect for the process, education is still measured from statistical figures. and the commercialization of education. Abstract

The research is aim at elaborating the impact of role-play method in interview material for phase E (grade X) at SMAN 1 Lembang in Sundanese (Bahasa Sunda) Local Content Subject. The research used experimental quantitative research design. Experimental data for this research were students of SMAN 1 Lembang in odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic-year. In this research, phase E6 students were chosen as experimental class while phase E2 students were chosen as control class. The procedure of collecting data was carried out by observation method through observation sheets and performance test. The result of this research indicated that tcount > ttable (11.309 > 1.99495), consequently H0 was rejected. This showed that role-playing method in interview material had an impact toward phase E students at SMAN 1 Lembang. Keywords: role-play, interview

Abstract

This research was conducted against a background of problems, namely the limited digital teaching materials, especially in the Indonesian subject of explanatory text. In Indonesian language lessons, especially in explanatory text material, the teacher does not use other innovative teaching materials. In addition, the minimal availability of teaching materials makes learning less effective. The low literacy of students also makes their knowledge limited in developing topics. The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on learning. This requires teachers to innovate in using technology based teaching material for distance learning. The purpose of this research is to develop digital teaching materials in the form of modules in explanatory text material that will help students learn independently. Data collection techniques used by researchers, namely observation, interviews, questionnaires, needs analysis and validation of material experts and media experts. This type of R&D research method uses the ADDIE model (Analaysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research was conducted at Darussalam Integrated Junior High School and PGRI 336 Junior High School. The Number of subjects consisted of 60 students. The results of this study get a very decent category which can be seen from the percentage. Material experts are 86% in the very valid category, media experts are 91% in the very valid category, large class trials are 88% in the very practical category, and 96% teacher trials are in the very practical category. Abstract

This study aims to understand how to develop interactive learning media based on Creative Cube Puzzle and to analyze the feasibility of interactive learning media based on Creative Cube Puzzle on fable story material by class VII students of Mts Darul Ilmi Langkat. The subjects of this study were 21 students. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were interviews and using questionnaires as instruments for material experts, media experts, Indonesian language teachers, and students. The results of the study show that: (1) Feasibility based on the Material Expert assessment of all aspects gets a total score of 65 and if presented by the media gets a score of 93%, this shows that the media from all aspects is in a very valid category. (2) Based on the evaluation of media experts, all aspects get a total score of 28 and if presented, the media gets a score of 93%, this shows that the media from all aspects is in a very decent category. (3) Feasibility based on the Indonesian Language Teacher's assessment of all aspects gets a total score of 72 and if presented by the media gets a score of 96%, this shows that the media from all aspects is in a very decent category. Abstract

Literary criticism course is a compulsory subject that must be taken and taken by Indonesian Language Education students. This course has achievements, namely that students are able to distinguish types of literary criticism, methods of literary criticism, and schools of literary criticism. however, this material is often provided without a religious education basis and integrated material in schools. Even though STKIP Al Hikmah Surabaya students will use this provision of knowledge as teaching material when pursuing it at school. In addition, the materials in the textbooks of literary criticism are integrated with Islamic values as an effort to create teachers who have good morals through literary criticism courses. The purpose of this research is to develop textbooks on modern Indonesian novels in the 2000s based on religious education, especially the values of Islamic integration in literary criticism courses. Furthermore, the design of this research is development research using the 4D model (four-D model) which consists of four stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collection technique used was review and validation from experts, as well as questionnaires and the results of interviews with students. Textbook validation involved three experts, namely presentation experts, material experts, and linguists. Meanwhile, the final trial of the textbooks involved 17 students of the STKIP Indonesian Language Education Study Program. Furthermore, the data that has been obtained will be analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of this analysis, it can be determined whether the textbook, literary criticism, has been developed effectively and is suitable for use in lectures. The results of this study, namely the Literary Criticism book, show that this book is suitable for use with the title "Good" with an average score of 3.1 (78%), with details, eligibility for content 3 (75%), eligibility for presentation 3.3 (83%) ), and language feasibility 3 (75%). Furthermore, Student Responses to the book Literary Criticism Based on Religious Education, namely from content 87%, presentation 86%, and language 83%, so it can be concluded that this book is effective as a textbook for literary criticism courses. Abstract

This research was conducted to find out how well the ability to write short stories of class IX students of SMPN 2 NA IX-X before and after implementing the Copy The Master learning pattern. In addition, it also aims to find out how the Copy The Master learning pattern affects the ability to write short stories for class IX SMPN 2 NA IX-X for the 2022/2023 academic year. Students who took part in this study were 64 people. 32 students from class IX-1 were used as samples. One-Group Pre-test Post-test Design was used in this study. The ability to write short stories for class IX students of SMPN 2 NA IX-X before using the Copy The Master learning model according to the pre-test results was sufficient with an average score of 62.12; 11.12 standard deviation; 1.99 standard error. Regarding the results of the posttest, class IX students of SMPN 2 NA IX-X were able to write short stories for the 22/2023 school year with an average score of 76.43 which is considered good; standard deviation 7.69; standard error = 1.38. The tcount value tested is 5.91; ttable of 1.69, this proves that the research hypothesis or Ha is accepted because tcount (5.91) > ttable (1.69). The ability to write short stories for class IX students of SMPN 2 NA IX-X for the 2022/23 academic year is strongly influenced by the Copy The Master learning pattern.
