Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of Qur'anic values in agricultural practices through a Living Qur'an study in the AgriQuran community in Bandung Regency. AgriQuran is a community that integrates Islamic principles in sustainable agricultural activities to improve farmers' welfare and preserve the environment. This research uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which involves the community actively in the research process and transformative action. The results showed that the AgriQuran community implemented various agricultural innovations based on Islamic values, such as the use of organic fertilizers, sustainable land management, crop brotherhood systems, and an economic approach without usury. The main programs include GreenHouse, AgriVisit, Green Alms, and empowering students through AgriPreneur. In addition, this community encourages an Islamic lifestyle for farmers by emphasizing the importance of worship, environmental care, and food security based on local wisdom. These findings confirm that the application of Qur'anic values in agriculture not only increases production yields but also brings positive social and spiritual impacts to the community. Thus, the Living Qur'an-based agricultural model in the AgriQuran community can be an alternative solution for sustainable agriculture in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of Living Hadith as a dynamic response to the problems of modern people, by combining the authenticity of hadith texts and the contextual needs of society. Through a qualitative approach and literature study of written sources, this study analyzes the application of Living Hadith in Javanese culture, especially in traditions such as weddings on holidays. The results of the study show that Living Hadith not only reinforces the relevance of the Sunnah of the Prophet in the contemporary era but also offers an adaptive model of hadith understanding without eroding its basic authority. These findings make a significant contribution to the development of hadith studies by mapping the dialectic between the establishment of religious texts and socio-cultural dynamics. The tradition of marriage during Eid al-Fitr/Adha in Java is an example of Living Hadith, adapting Islamic values to local culture even without a specific textual basis. This practice combines the concept of holiday blessings and Javanese togetherness, showing the flexibility of applying hadith in a social context as long as it does not contradict sharia. Living Hadith proves the dynamics of the interaction of religious texts with local traditions, maintaining the authority of the hadith as well as its relevance in society.

Abstract

This study examines the moral teachings for young Muslims contained within the poetic verses of Syekh Muallim. Syekh Muallim (ca. 1920s-1995) was a revered kyai and the founder of Pondok Pesantren Al-Fiil Kesugihan in Cilacap Regency, Central Java, renowned for his exceptional ability to compose soteriological poems for his students. The research employs a philological methodology, specifically textology, given that the primary data source consists of Pegon Arabic texts. This philological approach enables the thorough tracing, identification, and critical analysis of the original texts, ensuring data authenticity and accuracy. Furthermore, a hermeneutical perspective is utilized to uncover and interpret the profound meanings embedded within the poem lyrics. The findings reveal that the entirety of Syekh Muallim's discovered poems are structured as nadzom (poetic verses), comprising 17 chapters and a total of 558 lines. Certain sections of the Syair Syekh Muallim exhibit parallels with the Syingir Ngudi Susila composed by Kyai Bisri Musthofa. However, notwithstanding these similarities, Sheikh Muallim introduced slight modifications to the text to accommodate the linguistic characteristics of the Banyumasan dialect. Collectively, these poems serve as a comprehensive soteriological and pedagogical guide. The text not only emphasizes the importance of devotion and obedience within social and spiritual hierarchies but also provides a blueprint for the holistic formation of Muslim character, aiming for both worldly and otherworldly salvation. Specifically, the text is divided into three main discussions: "The Blessedness of humanbeing," "The Chapter of Mudha-Mudhi," and "The Chapter of Etiquette." These findings are expected to offer insights into the pedagogical richness of pesantren literary heritage and its relevance for shaping the character of young Muslims, particularly in the modern era marked by significant social challenges.
