Abstract

Hypertension patients are among the populations who are more vulnerable to Covid-19 infection, necessitating extra care and consideration. Self-care is essential for the treatment of hypertension to be effective. The purpose of this study was to determine how hypertension patients' self-care practices during the Covid-19 epidemic were influenced by nursing agency and family support. Cross-sectional study design is used in this quantitative research. Using complete sample procedures, 71 hypertensive subjects participated in the study. The Patient Satisfaction with Nursing Care Scale (PSNCS), the Family Support Questionnaire, and the Hypertension Self-Care Profile (HBP-SCP): Behavior Scale are the instruments that were used. Results this analysis revealed a strong correlation (p0,001, r=0,621) between patients' self-care behavior and family support and a significant correlation (p0,001, r=0,781) between nursing agency and patients' self-care behavior. The most significant characteristic influencing patients with hypertension's self-care behavior is the nursing agency (Beta 0,432).

Abstract

People with Diabetes Mellitus need long-term care and treatment to improve their quality of life. Family support and self-efficacy are believed to have an influence on the quality of life of elderly people with diabetes mellitus. The objective of the study was to identify family support, self-efficacy and quality of life for elderly people with diabetes mellitus. This study is a descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional approach.  The sample in this study were elderly people with diabetes mellitus who were selected using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 54 respondents. Furthermore, univariate data analysis was carried out using the frequency distribution and statistical tests using the Spearman Rho Test. The results of the Rho Spearman analysis showed that family support was positively correlated with the quality of life of elderly people with diabetes mellitus (rho=0.579; p<0.01). Meanwhile, the results of the Rho Spearman analysis showed that self-efficacy correlated positively with the quality of life of elderly people with diabetes mellitus (rho=0.537; p<0.01). The recommendation from the results of this study, is that nurses can increase family support and self-efficacy for elderly people with diabetes mellitus by forming a support group consisting of families who have elderly family members with diabetes mellitus so that they can share information related to how to provide family support to provide positive reinforcement and motivation to elderly people with hypertension so that their quality of life increases.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, various activities to stimulate young children suddenly stopped due to the emergency condition of the Covid-19 outbreak, However, the stimulation of growth and development for young children was quite ongoing and obtained quite good results by implementing the Covid-19 health protocol. The aims of this study is to describe the growth and development of children during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The data collected is by means of participants observation and in-depth interviews through FGDs. The research results obtained are that children's growth and development can be seen by monitoring in the form of anthropometric measurements at the puskesmas or public health centers, as well as passive monitoring of growth and development as seen from the KIA’s handbook to prevent mass crowds as an effort to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 . The result  in this study  found that most were on the growth line in the KIA’s Handbook, while for the level of nutritional intake there were still some children who were lacking in nutrition. Most of the development of gross and fine motor skills in children is in accordance with the KIA’s handbook, however there are a few whose development is not in line with the KIA’s handbook, this could be due to one of the contributing factors, namely nutritional intake. In addition there are 44.44% of children experienced the negative impact of the pandemic on their children's mental-emotional condition, 33.33% of their mental-emotional condition was not affected due to the covid 19 pandemic and 22.22% did not provide clear information. Some of contributing factors that hinder children's growth and development, one of which are nutritional status , the cooperation with health care facilities , and also the support from parents to use  educative indoor games and family recreation by implementing the Covid-19 health protocol.

In handling COVID-19 patients, health workers, especially nurses, have a high risk of contracting due to longer working hours than usual and the pressure felt that causes burnout syndrome in nurses while handling COVID-19 patients. The purpose of this study was to identify nurses' burnout syndrome during treatment in COVID-19 patients. This research was conducted in 2022 at St. Vincent A Paulo Catholic STIKES Surabaya with a population of 137 people. The method used is purposive sampling technique and uses Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire of 31 questions using Likert scale model. The presentation of data from the results of the study includes the general characteristics of respondents and specific data. The results showed that 137 people had experienced mild burnout syndrome with a percentage of 83.9% in terms of personality factors and general characteristic factors which included high expectations and heavy burden on work. It is hoped that hospital/clinic management will be able to manage the conditions experienced by health workers by providing assistance to be able to refocus the expectations of health workers to be more realistic so that burnout syndrome conditions can be avoided and health workers can remain productive in their work even during a pandemic.
