Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to see the relationship between the experience of reading literary and writing poetry skill of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 3 Padang. The data of the research were the score of the questionnaires about experience of reading literature and the score of writing poetry test of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 3 Padang. The result showed that: first, the mean scores of the experience of reading literature students classified as LDCs which was 66.86. Second, the mean scores of the poetry writing skills of students classified as B which was 76.19. Third, the value of t observed was bigger than T table (7.89> 1.69) which means the research hypothesis was accepted. Finally, it can be concluded that there was significant relationship between literary reading experience and writing poetry skill of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 3 Padang. Kata Kunci: hubungan, pengalaman, membaca sastra, menulis puisi

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe the language and spelling characteristics in the explanatory text of class XI students of SMA 1 Payakumbuh. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection is done through documentation studies. The subjects in this study were class XI students of SMA 1 Payakumbuh. The stage of analyzing the data in this study is as follows. First, identify common elements of data. Second, identifying data based on the theory that is a reference. Data identification is done by making a format for identifying linguistic characteristics and explanatory text spelling. Third, analyze data. Fourth, interpret the data that has been analyzed. Fifth, conclude the results of the data description by writing a report. The results of this study are that there are 22 students who have not used the language characteristics of the explanatory text and 8 students have used the explanatory text language characteristics. The linguistic characteristics found in this study are 3, namely, information on time, chronological conjunction and causality conjunction. The time was found as many as 53 pieces, 15 chronological conjunctions and 54 causality conjunctions. In addition, many found errors in the use of spelling in the form of capital letters, periods and commas. The error of using capital letters has 28 errors, 15 misuse of the dot and 158 errors in the use of commas from 810 sentences and 178 paragraphs. Kata kunci : Ciri Kebahasaan, Ejaan, Teks Eksplanasi

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to descibe the character education in the novel Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye. The data of this research is the aspect of the moral value of character found in the novel Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye include the value of affection, hard work value, responsibility value, and sportive value. The data source of this research is novel Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye. Data collcted by reading and understanding, inventorying, interpreting, classifiying, and summarizing data relating to values of character education in novel Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose f this research are (1) To know the students class VIII at SMP Negeri 11 Padang ability to write persuasive text without using mind mapping technique. (2) To know the students class VIII at SMP Negeri 11 Padang ability to write persuasive text using mind mapping. Abstract

ABSTRACT There are three objectives of this research. First, describing the comprehension of journalistic vocabulary  at students grade VIII SMP Negeri 22 Padang. Second, describing the  writing skill of  news text at student grade VIII SMP Negeri 22 Padang. Third, describing the contribution of journalistic vocabulary towards the skill in writing news text at students grade VIII SMP Negeri 22 Padang. This is a quantitative research with descriptive method and using correlational research design. Population and sample of this research are VIII th grade student of SMP Negeri 22 Padang consist of 223 students and 44 sample students. This research use Simple Random Sampling technique. This experiment consists of two variables: vocabulary as the independent variable (X) and the writing skills of news text as a dependent variable (Y). Based of result data analyze and explanation, were concluded 3 case. First, comprehension of journalistic vocabulary on students grade at VIII  SMP Negeri 22 Padang  was on good qualification (83,88). Second, writing skills of news text  at students grade VIII SMP  Negeri 22 Padang was on good qualification (81,91). Third,  comprehension  vocabulary on environment  areacontributed toward writing skills news text  at students grade VIII  SMP Negeri 22 Padang. Abstract

ABSTRACT This article is written to determine the research aimed to analyze the students skill of writing description text in VII (seventh) grade of SMP Negeri 12 Padang before and after implementation of the CTM technique and to analyze the effect CTM technique toward the skill of writing description text in VII (seventh) grade of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. The data of this research are the test score of writing description text skill before and using CTM technique of the students in class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang. The data was being analyzed with the percentage formula, the arithmetic mean formula and the t-test. The instrument of the research is performance test, that is test to write description text before and after using CTM technique. There are two findings of this research. First, the skill of students in the VII (seventh) grade of SMP Negeri 12 Padang of writing description text before using the CTM technique with qualification C (Cukup) with average 58,5. Second, the  skill  of  students in  the  VII  (seventh) grade  SMP  Negeri  12  Padang  of  writing description text after using the CTM technique with qualification B (Baik) with average 82,19. Third, according to the t-test, alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted in the significance percentage 95% and the degrees of freedom (df) = n-1 because of the taritmatic> ttable, which is 10,71 > 1,70.Kata kunci: Pengaruh, copy the master, menulis teks deskripsi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to describe influences in using modeling technique toward student’s ability in writing biography text in X SMA Negeri 5 Bukittinggi. This research is quantitative research through experimental method. The result of the research are first,the ability of students of second grade in SMA Negeri 5 Bukittinggi in writing the text before using modeling technique in the stage of More than fair qualification (C) on avarage 65,59; second, the ability in writing the text after using modeling technique in the stage of good qualification (B) on avarage 78,36; third, the ability in writing the text has been used this method more effective than before use it. Kata Kunci: pengaruh, teknik pemodelan, teks cerita ulang biografi.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to be describe these following two things. First, to describe the structure of story text written by seventh grade students in Junior High School Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. Second, to describe the text of the fantasy story of students’ works. The method that is used is descriptive method. This research was done in Junior High School Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. the data of the research are fantasy story texts collected in many sources such as the documents of 20 fantasy text stories written by the students. Instrument of this research is the writer herself. The data was analyzed by describing the data, than analyzing and discussing them towards the theory. The result of the research is, first, there are three generic structures of fantasy story, they are, orientation, complication, and resolution in the works of the students in Junior High School Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. the second result is there are 273 accuracies of the sentence use and EBI, there are 341 inaccuracies, and 7282 diction accuracy (selected word), and 62 diction inaccuracy (selected word) in the students’ writings. Based on this research, it can be concluded that, the students are able to use the generic structures correctly. It is proved by 20 texts that have been analyzed, and there are 18 texts that use all generic structures correctly. Then, the students are more skillful in using diction (selected word) in their writing than sentences and EBI. Kata kunci: struktur teks, kebahasaan teks, teks cerita fantasi

Abstract

The purpose of this research is (1) to know the level of reading comprehension skills of the text of the observation report of the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. (2) to know the level of skill of writing the text of observation result of student of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. (3) to know how correlation between reading comprehension skill of observation report and writing skill of report result of observation student of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 padang. This research type is quantitative with correlation method. Abstract

This article was written to describe the contribution of reading comprehension skills of exposition texts to the skills of writing exposition of students of class X MAN I Kinali Pasaman Barat. This research type is quantitative research by using descriptive method. The research design used is the correlational contribution of two variables. The population of this study is students of class X MAN I Kinali West Pasaman Regency registered in academic year 2016/2017 with the number of 108 students spread in five classes. The sample in this study amounted to 35 people. Samples were taken using a simple random technique with a precision of 15% using the Taro Yamane formula. The instrument of this research is performance test, that is writing of expository text writing and objective test of reading comprehension text of exposition. The results of this study there are three. First, the skill of writing exposition of the students of class X MAN I Kinali West Pasaman Regency is in more than enough qualification. Second, the reading comprehension skills of expository texts of grade X MAN I Kinali of Pasaman Barat Regency are in more than enough qualification. Third, based on the result of t-test, it can be concluded that reading comprehension skills of exposition texts contribute to the expository writing skill of MAN I Kinali students of Pasaman Barat Regency. Kata kunci: kontribusi, keterampilan, membaca, menulis,  teks eksposisi
