Abstract

Environmental issues are inevitable. Along with population growth, economic activity, and residential expansion, more waste is generated. The amount of waste produced by the community in Boyolali Regency continues to increase every year. Plastic waste from food packaging is scattered along the roadsides around the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory Complex, Ngemplak, Boyolali. This is due to the high volume of group shopping activities by pilgrimage escorts from various regions. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between knowledge and attitudes toward waste management in RW 02, Donohudan Village, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Boyolali District. The research method employed was a cross-sectional survey involving 61 respondents selected through random sampling. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test. The findings of this study indicate a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes toward waste management behavior in RW 02, Donohudan Village, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Boyolali District (p-value = 0.000).

Abstract

Background: Women of reproductive age (WUS) are a group of women aged between 15 and 49 years. They are considered a vulnerable group. Women with poor or severe nutritional status can develop chronic energy deficiency syndrome (CED). The direct causes of CED are dietary patterns and infections. Indonesia, which has a diverse range of food sources, can be utilized effectively. Local food is a source of food available in a region. If utilized effectively, it will provide several benefits, including affordability and ease of access. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between local food intake and BMI in women of reproductive age (WUS). Method: This study design is analytic cross-sectional with a sample of 162 respondents. The inclusion criteria for this study were women aged 19-39 years, women who are not pregnant, women who are not on a specific diet, and those who are willing to be respondents. The exclusion criteria were women who withdrew before the study was completed. The analysis was conducted using the Spearman rank correlation test. Results: The results show that most respondents are aged 30-39 years (79%), the majority of respondents have a secondary education level (SMA) (52.5%), respondents are in the unemployed category (84.6%), and the highest income of respondents is in the <UMR category (69.8%), normal BMI 46.9%, obesity category BMI 32.7%, overweight category BMI 13.6% and wasting category 6.8%. Conclusion: In conclusion, there is a relationship between energy and carbohydrate intake with WUS BMI. Protein and fat intake with WUS BMI has no relationship. Suggestion: It is recommended that the measurement of nutritional status in WUS can be supplemented using LILA, so that the results are more accurate. Measurement of nutrient intake can use a more detailed method, such as Food Recall.in the wasting category was 6.8%. Conclusion: There is a relationship between energy and carbohydrate intake and BMI in WUS. There is no relationship between protein and fat intake and BMI in WUS.

Abstract

The nutritional status of adolescents is currently a major public health concern, particularly due to the increase in cases of overweight and obesity, which increase the risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and heart disease. The main factors influencing nutritional status are a balanced diet and adequate physical activity. However, other factors such as knowledge of balanced nutrition guidelines and pocket money management also play an important role. Nutrition knowledge is expected to influence attitudes and healthy food choices, while higher pocket money amounts may increase the tendency to purchase high-calorie, low-nutrient foods, thereby contributing to the risk of overweight. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge of balanced nutrition guidelines and pocket money with nutritional status among high school students at SMA IT Nur Hidayah Sukoharjo. A cross-sectional observational study design was used with a population of all 11th grade students (N=283). The study sample consisted of 72 students, selected through simple random sampling. Data analysis used the Pearson product moment statistical test for nutrition knowledge and the Spearman rank test for pocket money, following the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test. The results showed no significant relationship between knowledge of balanced nutrition guidelines and overweight status among adolescents (p=0.676). However, there was a significant relationship between the amount of pocket money and overweight status among adolescents (p=0.043). This indicates that nutrition knowledge is not a direct factor influencing overweight status, while a higher amount of pocket money is correlated with the risk of overweight due to excessive consumption patterns. Teenagers are advised to increase their knowledge and application of balanced nutrition in their daily lives and to use their pocket money wisely when buying food and drinks.

Abstract

Background: The implementation of the Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (SHK) program at UPTD Puskesmas Tebing Syahbandar has not yet achieved the target of screening 100% of newborns, with coverage rates of only 1.36% in 2023 and 15% in 2024. Several challenges hinder the program’s effectiveness, including limited resources and resistance from parents. Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the SHK program at UPTD Puskesmas Tebing Syahbandar, identify the factors contributing to the low screening coverage, and propose recommendations for improving the program’s effectiveness and achieving the desired target. Research Method: A qualitative approach is used in this study, employing in-depth interviews with informants including healthcare workers, midwives, and the head of Puskesmas. The data collected was analyzed to identify key themes and factors affecting the program’s implementation. Results: The findings indicate that while the SHK program follows the guidelines set in Permenkes No. 78/2014, it faces significant barriers such as insufficient supply of screening materials (e.g., filter paper), limited training for healthcare personnel, and lack of comprehensive education for parents. These issues result in low participation rates and missed opportunities for early detection of congenital hypothyroidism. Conclusion: Addressing the challenges related to material availability, enhancing healthcare worker training, and improving communication and education for parents are essential to reaching the program’s target of 100% screening coverage.

Background: The quality of healthcare services at Puskesmas Batang Beruh, Dairi Regency, is influenced by several dimensions of service quality, including Tangible (physical facilities), Reliability (reliability), Responsiveness (responsiveness), and Assurance (assurance). Each of these dimensions plays a crucial role in shaping patient satisfaction, which is a primary indicator of the service quality provided. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between service quality dimensions (Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance) and patient satisfaction at Puskesmas Batang Beruh, Dairi Regency, in 2025. Method: This study employs a quantitative method with an analytical survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to patients at Puskesmas Batang Beruh, and the results were analyzed using logistic regression analysis to determine the factors influencing patient satisfaction. Results: The findings indicate that the Empathy and Reliability dimensions have a significant impact on patient satisfaction. Adequate physical facilities, timely service, and an empathetic relationship between nurses and patients contribute to increasing patient satisfaction levels. However, while Responsiveness is important, it is less influential than the other dimensions in affecting patient satisfaction. Conclusion: The Tangible (physical facilities), Reliability (reliability), and Empathy dimensions have the most significant impact on patient satisfaction at Puskesmas Batang Beruh. To improve patient satisfaction, it is essential for Puskesmas to continuously improve physical facilities, enhance service reliability, and foster empathetic attitudes among healthcare staff.
