Abstract

Professional nurses are expected to be able to apply Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) in the nursing process. However, the facts state that nurses are not used to applying EBN. This study aimed to determine changes in nurses' knowledge about EBN before and after being given education about EBN through video conference. This research is quantitative descriptive. Method using a pre-experimental design with the design of one group pre-test and post-test through PKM program at the general hospital in Bandung. 25 nurses participated in this study taken from the number of participants who attended. The results showed an increase in pre-test and post-test scores during lectures on EBN with Sig 2 tailed value 0.00 < 0.05. Although there was increase of 14.80 in nurses’ knowledge about EBN, video conference has weaknesses when used as a learning media. One of the weaknesses is unstable internet network constraints which had an impact on the quality of learning received by participants. Keywords: Evidence-based nursing, nurses, video conference

The Maternal Mortality Rate in Central Java is still relatively high. The main causes of maternal death in Central Java are hypertension in pregnancy, bleeding, heart problems, infections, and metabolic disorders. Pregnancy is a vulnerable period and there are many physiological and psychological problems. The anxiety of pregnant women needs to be prevented to prepare for the delivery and parenting process. There are many impacts that occur if the anxiety of pregnant women is not addressed to the delivery and childcare process during the postpartum period. There needs to be cooperation that involves many professions in assisting pregnant women. The purpose of this activity is to implement maternal assistance during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and parenting to reduce anxiety with interprofessional collaboration methods. The implementation of the activity is through direct mentoring. Observation was carried out for 3 months from July to September 2021. The collection of pretest and posttest data was carried out using a questionnaire given to 19 pregnant women in Banyumanik Semarang Central Java. Abstract

In the National Health Insurance (JKN) era, hospitals in Indonesia rapidly grew in number and also developed.  In order to stand out amongst the competition, hospitals often rely on marketing strategies through attractive advertisements, offering unique services, and also introducing their services to the public. One method often utilized in the 5P marketing mix consists of product, price, place, promotion, and people. This study aims to identify the impact of 5P marketing mix strategies on the patients’ interest in visiting Bandung Hospital in the city of Medan. Bandung Hospital in Medan conducted this quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach. This study involved 150 patients of Bandung Hospital’s inpatient unit, which is the whole outpatient clinic patient (total sampling) during the May 2023 period. Analysis was carried out using frequency distribution, chi-square, and binomial logistic regression analysis. This study found that the majority of patients visiting Bandung Hospital belong to the 30-39 years age group (62.0%), are female (58.7%), hold a bachelor's degree (48.0%), and are visiting Bandung Hospital for the first time (62.7%). Most of the patients in this study have a good perception toward all aspects of 5P marketing strategies in Bandung Hospital and are interested in visiting the hospital again in the future (p<0.05), with place playing the biggest role in influencing patients’ interest (OR = 4.082). According to all findings in this study, it can be concluded that marketing strategies such as the 5P marketing mix strategy positively influence patients’ interest in visiting Bandung Hospital. It can also be inferred that this strategy would work in similar types of hospitals, not only in Bandung Hospital. Keywords: Marketing mix, Hospital, Product-Price-Place-Promotion-People (5P), Patients

Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional health problem that is the center of attention worldwide with cases reaching 150.8 million people (22.2%). Stunting causes failure of growth and development of toddlers which has an impact on increasing mortality, morbidity, physical and cognitive disorders in adolescence and adulthood. Mothers who are malnourished during pregnancy are prone to anemia. Mothers with anemia can give birth to children who are at risk of stunting. This study aims to see the effectiveness of health education on increasing hemoglobin in pregnant women to prevent stunting. This research method was quasi-experimental with one group pre-post test. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method. The number of samples in this study was 60 samples. The data were analyzed using a normality test, and then a different test was performed using Wilcoxon. This study was conducted from August-September 2020. The results showed the effectiveness of health education during pregnancy in increasing the Hb value in pregnant women as indicated by the difference in the average Hb concentration before the intervention and after the intervention with a value of sig. (0.00) < (0.05). It was expected that health workers in primary health care facilities and hospitals provide continuous education to pregnant women in fulfilling balanced nutrition and consuming at least 90 iron tablets during pregnancy to prevent stunting. Keywords: Health education, hemoglobin, pregnant women, stunting.

Abstract

Production of ‘Jamu Jogorogo’ herbal medicine product by the Group of Women Farmers (KWT Singosaren), in Kab. Bantul, Yogyakarta is stagnant after receiving a Dana Keistimewaan Provinsi (Yogyakarta Province’s Special Fund), and has passed a halal certificate. Based on the Ishikawa fishbone analysis, basic knowledge of legal aspects, quality, and marketing strategy. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational strategy applied to the members of KWT Singosaren. This strategy was implemented through a ‘one-day training’ that began with a Pretest, Post-test I, and Post-test II. A total of 80 members of KWT Singosaren were involved in this training, and 59 met the eligible criteria. A Pretest was conducted before the training to get the initial. After the training, participants worked on the Post-test I. Before leaving the training location, all participants were given a pocketbook containing training material for self-learning. Two weeks (14 days) later, they were asked to take the Post-test II, so the participant’s final knowledge could be investigated. As a result, it was found that there is a rising knowledge of 113.56 % and 71.96 % regarding the understanding of ‘quality’ and ‘legality’, respectively. Interestingly, the marketing strategy (product appeal) and sustainable production knowledge rose by 15.25%. Even so, after Post-test II an increase in scores still occurred. This indicates that participants successfully conducted the self-learning process. Post actualization period, we found that the SPP-IRT permits (legal permits for food production for the Home Industry) of 3 (three) herbal products were successfully issued. Keywords: Empowerment, women, effectiveness, knowledge, training.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease in Indonesia has undergone a vast epidemiological transition in the last three decades, with an increase in the number of deaths and disabilities, resulting in the disease burden and high healthcare costs. Community empowerment strategies through educational and participatory approaches are part of efforts to prevent and control cardiovascular disease. A health education program called "Quality Life with a Healthy Heart" was held with the aim of improving public’s knowledge, especially in West Java, in recognizing cardiovascular diseases (primarily coronary heart disease) and efforts to prevent them and in providing initial assistance for out-of-hospital cardiovascular emergencies. Up to 148 people participated in the program via online videoconferencing and streaming media platform. Participants' level of knowledge was evaluated before and after participating in the program with an electronic questionnaire consisted of 8 multiple choice inquiries. Data were analyzed from 27 participants who completely filled out the pre-test and post-test questionnaires after received four session health education on webinar using descriptive statistics and the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. Results showed that as many as 59.3% of participants had good knowledge at the pre-test, while 85.2% of participants had good knowledge at the post-test. There was a significant difference between participants' level of knowledge before and after receiving the health education (Z = -3.933, p<0.001). It can be concluded that the program improved public's knowledge of cardiovascular health. Further educational initiatives are recommended to facilitate community skills in providing first aid for cardiovascular emergencies through Basic Life Support. Optimizing the use of social media can be an option to increase public health literacy. Keywords: Cardiovascular disease, health education, knowledge, public.
