Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the needs of students in the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted Project Based Learning learning model in learning to write scientific papers; (2) describe the needs of teachers in the Project Based Learning learning model assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning to write scientific papers; (3) producing and designing a Project Based Learning learning model assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning to write scientific papers; (4) describe the results of the validation of the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted Project Based Learning learning model in learning to write scientific papers; (5) produce the results of the development of a Project Based Learning learning model assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning to write scientific papers. This research method is research and development of modifications based on research needs, namely the combination of Borg and Gall with Dick and Carey.  The data of this research is in the form of qualitative through interview techniques, and quantitative data through questionnaire techniques. The learning model was developed based on a questionnaire of the needs of grade XI students with an average of 83.95%, while the average teacher needs were 89.16%. The results of the learning model design include learning structure (syntax), reaction principles, social systems, support systems, as well as instructional and accompanying impacts. The validation test was carried out by experts consisting of material, language, and media experts. The results of the validation percentage, namely 94.07% material, 73.43% media, 87.5% language with an overall percentage of 85%. Based on the validation results, the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted Project Based Learning learning learning to write scientific papers for students of grade XI MAN 1 Ogan Ilir was declared very feasible for use by students and teachers. Based on these results, the researcher recommends that other researchers continue testing this product, considering that the current research is still limited to the expert validation and revision stages.

Abstract

The ability to write book reviews is an essential component of academic literacy that students, particularly in higher education, must possess. However, many students face difficulties in writing reviews in a coherent, concise, and communicative manner. This gap highlights a disparity between expected writing skills and students' actual abilities. This study aims to examine the contribution of learning motivation and mastery of effective sentence structures to students' book review writing skills at the Payung Negeri Institute. The research employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach. A sample of 40 students was selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments include a learning motivation questionnaire, a test of effective sentence mastery, and a book review writing assignment. The data analysis results reveal that learning motivation significantly contributes to writing skills, as does mastery of effective sentence structures. Additionally, both learning motivation and sentence mastery jointly have a significant impact on students' book review writing ability. The study concludes that enhancing writing skills is not only determined by technical linguistic aspects but also by affective factors such as learning motivation. Therefore, writing instruction should be designed integratively, considering both aspects.

Abstract

This study investigates how the United States is represented in discourses surrounding the US–China trade war. This study analyzes three political statement discourses related to US–China trade relations, namely statements from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, President Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance, obtained from official media sources and YouTube recordings in April 2025. This study uses a qualitative approach based on the Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) framework, focusing on the ideational metafunction transitivity system. The analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman (1994) approach, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The results of the study found a total of 67 clauses obtained including material processes (46.27%), relational (32.84%) mental (13.43%), verbal (5.97%), and existential processes (1.49%). While the behavioral process (0%) was not found. Of the five processes found, the dominant material process (46.27%). This indicates that the US is an active actor in taking action. This study reveals how transitivity patterns shape conceptions of international relations and economic power. Through transitivity analysis, it has revealed how grammatical choices function to construct geopolitical narratives, the United States in the global realm.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of code-mixing in language use in family interactions, both face-to-face and online, in Bandung. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods in the form of questionnaires distributed via WhatsApp messages and interviews. The results show that the dominant language used in family communication is a mixed language (Sundanese-Indonesian) with a percentage of 58.73%. The use of Indonesian is 26.19%, Sundanese is 15.08%, and English/foreign languages is only 0.57%. Mixed language is more widely used in daily communication, both within and outside the family. Code-mixing and code-switching are common phenomena in social interactions among multilingual communities in Bandung. In addition to the presence of virtual and face-to-face communication spaces that refer to language use, code-mixing and code-switching are also influenced by factors such as psychological, educational, and linguistic factors. This phenomenon not only reflects language habits but also the complexity of human interactions in multilingual societies.

Abstract

Traditional songs are a form of cultural heritage that carry moral, social, and spiritual messages, while also reflecting the identity of a community. This study aims to analyze the Javanese traditional song Lir-Ilir using the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach based on Norman Fairclough's model, in order to uncover its symbolic meanings, usage context, and its connection to ideology and social transformation within Javanese society. The song Lir-Ilir, believed to have been created by Sunan Kalijaga, not only functions as a medium for Islamic da'wah (preaching), but also as a tool for character education and the preservation of local culture. This research employs a qualitative method with the primary data source being the lyrics of the song Lir-Ilir in Javanese and its translation. The analysis is conducted through three dimensions: the text dimension, the discourse practice dimension, and the social practice dimension. The findings of this study show that the song contains Sufi symbols and Islamic values such as calls for self-reflection, the enhancement of faith, and the importance of fulfilling religious duties. The lyrics in the song reflect cultural syncretism, as seen in the use of agrarian metaphors such as “tandure wus sumilir” and “penekno blimbing kuwi”, which convey Islamic messages while remaining grounded in Javanese cultural expressions. This illustrates how Islamic values are subtly embedded through local symbols, resulting in a form of acculturation that avoids cultural resistance. To this day, Lir-Ilir remains socially and culturally relevant as a medium for teaching spiritual values and local wisdom, as well as serving as an effective example of how moral messages can be conveyed through art that adapts to the times.

Abstract

This study was designed to analyze the effectiveness of using the Blooket media to improve the reading literacy skills of students in grade X on the topic of biographical texts at SMA Negeri 1 Maron. Literasi membaca dalam kajian ini mencakup kemampuan untuk memahami dan menganalisis isi teks biografi. The study is based on the low reading literacy level of students and the need for innovative educational media that is engaging and relevant to the needs of today's students. The research method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consists of 36 students from class XA as the experimental group and 34 students from class XB as the control group. The instruments used were student satisfaction questionnaires and tests (pre-test and post-test). Data dianalisis dengan bantuan software SPSS 22, meliputi uji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, homogenitas, independent sample t-test, dan N-gain score. The results of the study showed that the questionnaire was valid and reliable (r calculated ≥ 0.632 and α = 0.761). Independent sample t-test analysis revealed significant differences between the posttest results of the experimental and control groups (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The average N-gain score for the experimental group was 64.8%, which is considered moderately effective. Sebanyak 94% siswa merespons positif terhadap penggunaan media Blooket. Blooket media has proven to be effective in increasing reading literacy and motivating students through enjoyable learning media.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental pillar in shaping a generation that excels not only intellectually but also possesses strong moral integrity. Although national policy has emphasized the importance of character reinforcement through the curriculum, its implementation in the classroom—particularly in subjects considered technical, such as Indonesian language—remains suboptimal. There is a gap between the potential of Indonesian language instruction as a medium for character education and its current practice, which still predominantly focuses on linguistic aspects. This study aims to describe the role of Indonesian language teachers in shaping students' character, particularly the value of integrity. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research was conducted in two secondary schools involving both teachers and students as participants. The findings reveal that Indonesian language teachers play a strategic role in internalizing the value of integrity through various strategies, such as the selection of morally rich texts, implementation of reflective literacy projects, and attitude-based assessments. The teacher’s role as a moral role model and the interpersonal relationships developed in the classroom also significantly contribute to the internalization process. However, this role has not been fully optimized due to structural barriers, including administrative burdens, lack of training in character-based pedagogy, and the dominance of academic-oriented curricula. The study concludes that Indonesian language teachers have considerable potential as agents of character education—potential that remains underutilized. The practical implication of these findings is the need for systemic support, including ongoing training in value-based pedagogy, supportive curriculum policies, and the reduction of administrative workloads to enable teachers to effectively and sustainably fulfill this strategic role.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Kemelut Rondasih dan Dua Anaknya by Minanto through a literary psychology approach, especially Abraham Maslow's humanistic theory. Rondasih is described as a woman who grew up in an incomplete family environment and faced psychological, social, and economic pressures. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with listening and note-taking techniques, as well as content analysis to trace quotations that reflect the character's inner conflict. The results of the analysis show that the conflict is closely related to the unfulfilled physiological needs, sense of security, love and belonging, and self-esteem. Failure to meet these needs hinders Rondasih's psychological balance. This study concludes that Maslow's theory is effective in understanding the inner conflict of literary characters. Practically, these findings are useful in learning literature and can be applied in bibliotherapy to develop empathy and self-reflection in readers.

Abstract

Technology is now an important element in education, especially in the provision of interesting and interactive learning media. The ability to listen in Indonesian is very important to understand information. Interactive digital screen media that presents images, text, and sound can increase students' interest and understanding when listening. This study aims to describe the results of the application of interactive digital screen media in an effort to improve the listening skills of inclusion students in grade VIII. This research is a quantitative study with an experimental method using a Single Subject Research (SSR) design. The research subjects are inclusion students in grade VIII who have limitations in understanding the material and learning motivation. The activity was carried out in three sessions at each baseline and intervention condition. The results showed that the baseline condition scores tended to be low (40–50 values) and did not increase significantly. After the intervention using interactive digital screen media, there was a significant increase with the listening score increasing from 70 to 80. Innovation in the use of interactive digital media has proven to be effective in inclusive education, because it is able to provide adaptive, multimodal, and more motivating learning for students with special needs to be actively involved in the learning process.

Abstract

The existence of short stories is very useful, one of which is as a means of conveying messages. Therefore, the message to be conveyed through short stories must be clear and unambiguous so that readers can understand the plot or message in the short story. This research is important to do because it is to find out the ambiguity or clarity of meaning and the accuracy of writing sentences in short stories in the Indonesian Language Student book for Junior High School/MTs Class 9. This research method is descriptive qualitative. This study aims to find out how many types of sentences are based on the number of clauses in short stories in the Indonesian Language Student book for Junior High School/MTs Class 9 and to find out the clarity of the meaning of sentences, the accuracy of writing sentences and the function of sentences in short stories. The results of this study are the discovery of the use of types of sentences based on the number of clauses and seen from their ambiguity, namely unambiguous simplex sentences totaling 109 sentences; ambiguous simplex sentences totaling 1 sentence; unambiguous compound sentences totaling 19 sentences; ambiguous compound sentences totaling 1 sentence; unambiguous complex sentences totaling 58 sentences; complex compound sentences totaling 7 sentences.
