Abstract

One thing that cannot be separated from education is learning. One of the competencies that are expected to be achieved in the learning process is the ability to solve mathematical problems. However, in reality many students have low mathematical problem solving abilities. Students memorize more often than understand mathematical concepts. To overcome this problem, a learning innovation is needed, such as Discovery Learning in collaboration with an ethnomathematical approach. The purpose of this study is to find out how ethnomathematics-based Discovery Learning can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The research method used is a qualitative method with a Library Research approach. The researcher uses Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, namely, by summarizing, presenting data, and providing conclusions. Through this study, it was found that ethnomathematics-based Discovery Learning was deemed able to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This is supported by the relationship between the stages of learning using ethnomathematics-based Discovery Learning with indicators of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The application of this learning model will help students build knowledge through experience, so that the knowledge that has been obtained by students can be embedded in long-term memory.Keywords: Discovery Learning; Ethnomathematics; Mathematics problem solving ability

Abstract

This study aims to describe and find out how students can form character through habituation of reading Asmaul Khusna at Madrasah Diniyah Salafiyyah Al Ittihad Al Barokah Karangude Kulon. The results showed that in the implementation of character building by habituation of reading Asmaul Khusna in Madrasah Diniyah Salafiyyah Al Ittihad Al Barokah Karanggude Kulon, namely in the process carried out before starting learning by using the habituation method, through this habituation process the students recited together, it is hoped that they can memorize seriously and be able to apply it with istiqomah so as to be able to form good personalities for the students. The impact obtained from character building through habituation of reading Asmaul Khusna in Madrasah Diniyah Salafiyyah Al Ittihad Al Barokah Karanggude Kulon is expected to be able to make students always remember God and be able to make students diligent, diligent and disciplined.Keywords: Character, Santri, Asmaul Husna

Abstract

The study aims to determine the comparison of students’ interst in learning class VII C and VII D Pondok Pesantren Al Kinanah Jambi, Indonesia. This is a quantitative research. The sample in this study was class VII C and VII D. The instrument used was a questionnaire. A significant comparasion of students’ interest in learning science subjects beetwen class VII C and VII D learning interest is 0,005, where 0,005 0,05. Based on these results it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in interest in learning in class VII C and VII D at Pondok Pesantren Al Kinanah Jambi City.Keywords: Student study interest, Science, Junior high school students.

Abstract

This study is qualitative research that aimed to get the analysis result of the mathematical connection ability of undergraduates with low, moderate, and high initial ability at vector spaces topic. The research subjects are three undergraduate students in the fourth semester in the mathematics department, one for each initial ability category. The research data was obtained by mathematical connection ability tests and in-depth interviews. These data were analyzed based on two mathematical connection ability indicator, that is (1) connect mathematical ideas, in forms of fact, concept, principle, and skill at the same topic, and (2) connect mathematical ideas, in forms of fact, concept, principle, and skill at two different topics. The first indicator is described by how subjects connect algebraic and geometric representations of a spanning set of vector space. Meanwhile, the second indicator is described by how subjects connect a fact about trace with set membership concept. The results of the study reveal that the subject with low and moderate initial ability did not know some mathematics basic knowledge, such as vector addition in cartesian coordinates and trace of matrix. That is why the subject cannot connect mathematical ideas. Subject with high initial ability understands algebraic representation of a mathematical concept, but not that good at understanding geometric representation. The subject has good knowledge about mathematical terms, such as the trace of a matrix, and can use it to explain a mathematical concept.Keywords: Initial Ability, Mathematical Connection, Connection Problem, Mathematics Learning Object, Vector Space.

Abstract

In elementary school, each student certainly has different backgrounds such as different cultural backgrounds, races, socioeconomic levels, and religions so that they have different values, norms, and behaviors.  The existence of diversity among high-class elementary school students makes multicultural education an effort to improve the welfare of students in the school environment with harmonious social interactions.  The steps taken to find out and answer these problems, the researchers conducted a literature study related to multicultural education to the finding that diversity among students can be addressed through multicultural education which is supported by the role of teachers as educators and the integration of multicultural education in subjects and the use of learning strategies that are in accordance with  the demands of multicultural education in order to achieve optimal learning outcomes by providing an understanding of attitudes in diversity for mutual respect, respect, and tolerance between friends in elementary school which is carried out both inside and outside the classroom and during learning activities and outside learning activities.  Multicultural education aims so that students as the nation's next generation can have social behavior in accordance with applicable norms and valuesKeywords: diversity, student, multicultural education

Abstract

Character education is a necessity for schools to be developed, because character education can shape the personality or character of students for the better. This study aims to reveal the development of character education in Roudlotun Nasyiin Islamic High School Mojokerto. This study has used a qualitative descriptive approach to reveal and explain the development of character education that has been implemented in Roudlotun Nasyiin Islamic High School. The main data source of this research is primary data obtained directly from informants, namely the principal, vice principal, teacher, and students. The data collection instrument used interviews. Data validity uses source triangulation. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that Roudlotun Nasyiin Islamic High School had developed character education for students. The development of character education is carried out based on the vision and mission set by the school. So that the development of character education is part of efforts to achieve the school's vision and mission. The development of character education is applied using the method of habituation and exemplary. Habituation is carried out in the form of routine, spontaneous, and programmed activities. The development of character education that has been carried out has a positive impact on students, among them students become more understanding of religious values.Keywords: Character education, vision and mission, habituation

Abstract

Intuitive thinking is a non-analytic cognitive process, in which the emergence of ideas is spontaneous and emerges suddenly. In learning mathematics, intuitive thinking is sometimes needed as a thinking bridge in an effort to solve a problem. This research is a descriptive qualitative study that aims to analyze how students involve their intuitive thinking skills in solving percentage problems and to assess their difficulties encountered in that process. The collecting data was employed by giving a test with three problem solving questions followed by a depth interview. This study involved 25 students of grade 5 SD IBA Palembang with heterogeeous cognitive performance; low, middle and high. The data then analyzed qualitatively. The results reveal that intuitive thinking, basically, could support students to deal with the percentage problems. All the prior knowledge and experiences lead them to develop their ability to solve the given contextual problems in varied ways, including the use of percentage bar and percentage line-like model.Keywords: Intuitive thinking, percentage, mathematical problem solving

Abstract

Since 2020, online learning has been implemented due to the covid-19 pandemic that has spread troughout Indonesia. So the learning can’t be carried out face-to face advance. Various educational institutions including University carry out distance learning (online) with using various kinds of technology. As a student, we can adapt to conditions that inevitabely require students to be able to master technology. There are various types of learning support applications that can be used by students in order to master lecture material well or to fo college assignments. So that during online both students and lecturers are the same (use technology together). Maximum use of technology for lectures can effect student achievement (learning achievement) while online. So this study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of technology user skills on student learning achievement during online. Research method is quantitative with t test using spss 26 version. So the result of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between student skills in using technology on learning achievement (IP value).Keywords: Technology profiency, learning achievement, online learning, distance learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group counseling services with the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy approach using symbol modeling and live modeling techniques in lowering the careers of final students. The participants in this study were 7 postgraduate students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This research is an experimental study using a single group pretest-posttest design that only uses one group of subjects (single case) and performs measurements before and before giving treatment to the subject (pretest-posttest) using the instrument, namely the final student career anxiety scale that has met the standard. the required validity and reliability. Experiments were carried out using group counseling with an approach using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, symbolic modeling techniques and live modeling. Method of data analysis with paired T test. The results of data analysis showed the value of t = 8.908 with p = 0.000 0.05 which means that there is a significant difference in the level of career anxiety of final students before and before receiving treatment for group counseling services using the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy approach with live modeling and symbolic modeling techniques, and proven to be effective in reducing the level of career anxiety of final students.Keywords: Group Counseling Services, REBT, Symbolic Modeling, Live Modeling, Final Student Career Anxiety
