Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to compare student learning outcomes and mathematical dispositions based on gender differences. The gender referred to in this study is gender, namely male and female. The location of this research is in Curah Pecak Village, Purwoharjo District, Banyuwangi Regency. The method used in this research is a comparative descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMAN 1 Purwoharjo. Sampling was done by random sampling technique with a sampling technique of 1 male student and 1 female student from each class with a total of seven classes, so that the number of samples was 7 male students and 7 female students. Learning outcomes data were obtained by using documentation in the form of the students' Mid-Semester Examination (UTS). score while the mathematical disposition data were obtained by distributing a mathematical disposition questionnaire. Then the data obtained were analyzed using inferential statistics using the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) method. From the results of hypothesis testing, it was found that there were differences in learning outcomes and mathematical dispositions based on gender differences. Thus it can be concluded that gender differences have an influence on learning outcomes and mathematical dispositions of students in class XI SMAN 1 Purwoharjo so that from these differences researchers can compare the learning outcomes and mathematical dispositions of male and female students. Keywords: learning outcomes; mathematical disposition; gender difference

Abstract

This study aims at investigating how the usage of ‘smart tree’ manipulative media could support the first graders’ understanding of the addition concept. The research method is design research which consists of three stages, namely preliminary design, teaching experiment and retrospective analysis. The research subjects involved fifth grade students at an Islamic elementary school in Watampone in which 6 students were in the pilot experiment and 23 students involved in the teaching experiment. Data were collected through tests, interviews, documentation and field notes. The results shows that the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach using ‘smart tree’ manipulative media could create a more enjoyable and meaningful addition learning for the first graders. The learning trajectory consists of two learning activities; organizing objects using familiar number/groups as well as doing addition activity using card game and smart tree manipulative media proved to be able to support students' understanding of the concept of addition from the informal level to the formal level. Keywords: addition; PMRI; smart tree; manipulative media

Abstract

Understanding of mathematical concepts is very important for students, especially in material lines and angles. In the subject of lines and angles, many students have not mastered the concept well, so many students experience difficulties. The purpose of this study is to produce an e-module based on Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) on line and angle material that is valid, practical, and effective. This study employed the ADDIE model development research procedure which consisting 5 stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product of this research is an e-module based on PMRI on line and angle material. The results showed that the developed e-module achieved the criteria of being valid, practical and effective The results of the development show that the e-module is included in the valid criteria with an average score percentage of 89%, practical with an average score percentage of 97.25% and effective with an average score percentage of 76.31%. The developed e-module is effective in teaching the concept of lines and angles for class VII. Keywords: mathematics, e-module, development, RME.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the space arrangement toward administrative services at MTS DDI Walimpong, Soppeng Regency, Indonesia. This is a quantitative research using questionnaire as instrument to collect the data. This study involved a staff of administrative office and 35 students. Data were analyzed by using formula of proportion and product moment correlation, as well as testing the independence between two factors using simple linear regression test statistics. Findings of this study indicate that the spatial arrangement of the madrasah office at MTS DDI Walimpong, Soppeng Regency is quite good. The average respondent's answer is 50.61 which is in the fairly good category. Meanwhile, the administrative services at MTS DDI Walimpong, Soppeng Regency, are quite good. The average of respondents' answers is 53.94 which is in the good enough category. Based on the results of the ANOVA test, the Fcount value of 10.14376653>Ftable of 4.130017699, and the T-test of 3.10485017186>Ttable of 1.369709548. This shows that there is a positive and significant influence on the arrangement of madrasah office space on the improvement of administrative services.  Keywords: office space arrangement, service, administration.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic requires teachers to conduct online learning. Monotonous online learning using the lecture method causes a lack of interaction between teachers and students, causing confusion. Thus we need a method that can facilitate the teacher to explain the material by involving students in learning. Thus, researchers use the lecture method plus question and answer as one way to overcome student confusion in online learning. In conducting research, researchers use descriptive qualitative methods that emphasize literature review. Giving the lecture method plus question and answer to overcome student confusion is a form of teacher responsibility to God. Through the provision of this method the teacher can show his dedication to God by being responsible for overcoming students' confusion. The lecture plus question and answer method can overcome student confusion by providing space for students to ask questions or express their confusion in both synchronous and asynchronous learning. Researchers suggest teachers to continue to encourage students not to feel ashamed and afraid to be considered stupid when students express their confusion. The teacher must also give appreciation in the form of applause, words of praise, and so on as a form of motivation to students so that they can express their confusion. Keywords: confusion, responsibility, lecture method plus question and answer
