Abstract

This study examines how the values of Surah Al-Ma’un are manifested within the concept of barakah (divine blessings) and how these values serve as an ethical–spiritual foundation for designing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs at CV. Adnan Tour. Surah Al-Ma’un highlights social compassion, justice, empathy, and moral accountability as intrinsic expressions of Islamic religiosity. Employing a phenomenological approach, this research explores the lived experiences of business owners and employees in interpreting the meaning of barakah and its operationalization in the company’s CSR initiatives. The findings reveal that Surah Al-Ma’un nurtures a moral consciousness that corporate profit inherently contains the rights of others; hence, it must be redistributed through almsgiving, social assistance, and community-beneficial programs such as the “Friday Blessings Program” and Qur’an distribution to local mosques. Barakah is perceived not merely as material gain but also as business tranquility, protection from risks, a positive organizational climate, and enhanced customer trust. The values of Al-Ma’un also cultivate a culture of empathy, honesty, and social care, strengthening the company’s public reputation. Thus, the Al-Ma’un–based CSR model at CV. Adnan Tour goes beyond regulatory compliance and becomes a meaningful form of spiritual value internalization fostering business sustainability and social welfare.

Abstract

The tumbler is considered an eco-friendly product because it can be refilled and reused multiple times, thereby reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles. This research investigates how environmental awareness and perceived value affect students’ purchasing decisions for eco-friendly tumblers at Kutai Kartanegara University, with trust serving as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative, purposive sampling approach, data were collected from 92 active tumbler users via a structured questionnaire and analyzed using software SmartPLS 4.1.1.6. The study found that both environmental awareness and perceived value significantly and positively impact purchasing decisions and trust. This suggests that individuals with higher environmental awareness are more inclined to buy eco-friendly tumblers and are more likely to trust the environmental claims and qualities of these products. However, trust itself does not significantly influence purchasing decisions and does not mediate the link between environmental awareness, perceived value, and purchasing behavior. Therefore, the primary drivers of reusable tumbler purchases in this study were environmental awareness and perceived value.

Abstract

The Indonesian retail sector has experienced digital disruption and shifting consumer preferences, making early detection of financial distress increasingly important. This study aims to compare financial distress predictions of retail companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) using the Altman Z-Score, Springate, and Zmijewski models for the 2021–2024 period. A quantitative descriptive method was applied using secondary data from audited annual reports of 26 retail companies selected through purposive sampling. Financial ratios were calculated based on each model and classified to assess bankruptcy risk. The findings show that most companies fall into the safe zone across the three models, indicating generally strong liquidity, profitability, and solvency. However, several firms, particularly GLOB, TELE, and TRIO, are consistently categorized as distress, reflecting structural financial weaknesses and a high probability of bankruptcy without corrective action. The results highlight the role of multiple prediction models to enhance early warning accuracy and support managerial and investment decisions.

Abstract

The Etawa goat agribusiness has significant economic potential for coastal communities, but the sustainability of the business is often influenced by limited resources and the social dynamics of the farmers. This study analyzes the sustainability level of the Etawa goat milk agribusiness in Tunggul Village from an ecological and social perspective as two fundamental aspects that determine business stability. Data were collected from 40 farmers and analyzed using RAP-Kagot-based Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS). The results show that the ecological dimension has a sustainability index of 68.64%, while the social dimension has an index of 65.37%, both of which are classified as moderately sustainable. The most sensitive attributes affecting sustainability include waste management, climate change, and disease management in the ecological dimension, while community conflicts and farmer education levels dominate the influence on the social dimension. These findings confirm that the sustainability of Etawa agribusiness does not only depend on technical aspects of production, but is also influenced by social capacity, access to information, and adaptation to environmental changes. The research recommendations emphasize the need to strengthen business management, improve the quality of farmer human resources, and integrate ecological and social approaches to promote a more adaptive and competitive dairy goat agribusiness.

Abstract

Economic education within the family environment is part of informal education that occurs in an unprogrammed manner, but through a process of habituation and role modeling. This study aims to examine and analyze the characteristics of informal economic education that occurs within households, thereby forming patterns of informal economic education as an effort to shape good economic behavior. The data in this study were analyzed using qualitative analysis through the processes of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that learning occurs not only through formal channels, but also organically through direct experience, social interaction, informal mentoring, observation, and the use of digital and community resources. These patterns are adaptive, contextual, and driven by the practical needs of MSMEs to survive and thrive. Significantly, this informal education has proven to be a major catalyst in strengthening functional economic literacy, where MSMEs gradually develop an understanding and ability to manage the financial aspects of their businesses, such as costing, pricing, cash flow management, and risk mitigation

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Aceh Qanun No. 11/2018 on Sharia Financial Institutions (LKS) in West Aceh, focusing on public literacy and user experience, institutional constraints, and the role of Sharia Supervisory Boards (DPS). Employing a qualitative case-study approach, data were gathered through interviews, limited observation, and document analysis at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Meulaboh, Bank Aceh Syariah Meulaboh, and a sharia cooperative/BMT in Meureubo, involving 15 purposively selected informants. Guided by institutional theory and diffusion of innovations, the analysis shows that strong regulatory pressure accelerates formal compliance, while public understanding remains largely declarative. Users experience moral reassurance alongside complex procedures, confusing contract terminology, and unequal urban-rural access. Banks adapt more effectively than cooperatives/BMT, which face sharper resource constraints. Although DPS exists formally, its oversight is perceived as episodic and document-oriented, enabling partial decoupling. Sustaining the Qanun requires strengthening public literacy, frontline competence, and proactive DPS engagement to move from symbolic to informed compliance.

Abstract

Climate change is a global challenge that has a significant impact on the sustainability of agricultural systems and global food security. Rice productivity in East Java Province in 2024 experienced a decline of 4.78% due to prolonged drought/El Nino and climate anomalies as the main causes of production decline in several districts due to shifts in planting times (planting seasons) and crop failures. Unpredictable climate fluctuations can reduce land productivity, shorten the planting period, and threaten food price stability at the consumer level. The objective of this study was to identify the risk mapping of changes in rainfall patterns and mitigation strategies for rice productivity in East Java. The results show that, overall, rainfall in various regions in East Java does not have a significant effect (P > 0.05) on rice productivity, while spatial data-based mitigation results show that the overlay map of drought and flood risks is in the districts of Jember, Tuban, Lamongan, Bojonegoro, and Ngawi, with medium to high drought risk categories and high flood risk categories. For landslide risk zones, it was found that parts of Jember were included in the relatively high landslide risk category.

Abstract

This pilot survey examines perceptions of Islamic financing product innovation and intention to access Islamic banking among residents of Meureubo Village, West Aceh, Indonesia. A cross-sectional descriptive-exploratory design was used. A five-point Likert questionnaire was administered to 20 respondents (10-24 June 2025) who were users or prospective users of Islamic financing. Constructs covered perceived process ease, variety of contracts/schemes, need-fit, value-fit, self-reported contract understanding, socialization/information exposure, and intention. Results indicate positive perceptions: all respondents agreed that the products are easy to understand and fit needs and Islamic values. Intention was high; 90% reported that innovation increases their interest in using Islamic banking. However, 70% identified limited outreach/socialization as a barrier, and 30% were neutral about simpler application procedures. The findings suggest that product innovation should be accompanied by communication innovation—contract literacy, community-based outreach, and simulations—to translate interest into actual access. As a pilot, results map priority indicators for larger studies.
