Abstract

The goal of this article is to identify and explain impoliteness strategies in the 2019 presidential election debate and to evaluate the role of impoliteness used in the 2019 presidential debate. Qualitative descriptive is the kind of method that used by the researcher. The data was gathered from four YouTube videos of the 2019 presidential election debates and analyzed using the distributional and identity methods. This study used the theory of impoliteness by Jonathan Culpeper (2005) which withhold politeness, sarcasm or mock politeness, negative impoliteness, positive impoliteness, dan bald on record impoliteness. Based on the research result, it is found negative impoliteness was the most frequent impoliteness strategy, accounting for 43%. The speaker demonstrated his superiority by accusing and condemning the flaws of others in this strategy.Keywords: Impoliteness, Impoliteness Strategies, Debate, Election

Abstract

This study aims to describe the context of literary discourse in the short story Kuli Kontrak by Mochtar Lubis. This research study focuses on the context behind the short story Kuli Kontak by Mochtar Lubis. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. This research uses the literature study method, the source of the data for this research is the Kuli Kontak short story book, the data is obtained from the sentences contained in the short story. The results of this study found that there are linguistic contexts, situational contexts, and cultural contexts which are the building blocks of Mochtar Lubis' short stories.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of using audio-visual media on the ability of students to read poetry in class X SMA. Sampling in this study used a purpose sampling technique. This research design is pretest posttest control group only design. The research design uses a 2x2 factor. This research method is quasiexperimental or quasi-experimental. Sources of data in this study were the results of students' motivation and poetry reading ability tests. The results of this study prove that there is a significant effect of using audio visual media on students' poetry reading skills with the results of hypothesis testing the value of t count = 3.156 > t table = 1.710 so that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Hypothesis 2 test shows that the use of audio-visual media on highly motivated students has a significant effect, this is indicated by the value of tcount = 3.676 > ttable = 1.782. Hypothesis test 3 shows a significant effect of using audiovisual media on low-motivated students as indicated by the value of tcount = 2,572 > ttable 1,782. Hypothesis test 4 shows that there is a significant effect of learning motivation on the ability to read poetry with the value of t count = 2,399 > t table 1,710. This study proves that the use of audio-visual media has a better influence on students' poetry reading skills so that it can be used as an alternative learning that can be applied in the classroom.Keywords: Audio Visual Media, Learning Motivation, Poetry Reading Ability

Abstract

This research is important to do in order to determine the psychological condition that occurs in a woman as a follow-up and the violence she experienced. This study aims to describe the differences and similarities in the main female characters in the title Gadis Korek Api by Djenar Maesa Ayu with the poem Teresa by Paulina Flores. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis. The technique used in this research is reading and notetaking technique. The approach taken is using the Psychological Theory of Sigmund Freud (1923) there are three personality elements in psychoanalysis, namely the Id, Ego, and Superego. The results of the study reveal that (1) there are similarities in the two literary works, namely actions against women, (2) differences in the main female characters in the two works, as Nayla has a different ego personality from Id. Meanwhile, Claudia in Teresa's short story is more dominant in personality I than following Ego. Keywords: Comparative Literature, Psychology, Short Stories.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai moral serta implementasi pembelajaran di SMA pada novel Sirkus Pohon Karya Andrea Hirata. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan didaktis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kajian isi dengan alat pengumpul data berupa studi dokumenter. Hasil penelitian ini nilai moral dalam novel Sirkus Pohon Karya Andrea Hirata berkaitan dengan diri sendiri, sesama manusia dan Tuhan. Nilai moral moral berhubungan dengan diri sendiri yaitu jujur, kerja keras, pantang menyerah, rendah hati. Nilai moral yang berhubungan dengan sesama manusia yaitu suka menolong dan cinta kasih. Dan nilai moral yang berhubungan dengan Tuhan yaitu bersyukur yang tergambarkan dari tingkah laku tokoh-tokohnya dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari. Sedangkan Implementasi nilai moral dalam novel Sirkus Pohon Karya Andrea Hirata pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA relevan dengan Kurikulum 2013 di kelas XII. Implementasi pembelajaran tersebut didasari dengan adanya Kompetensi Inti (KI) dan Kompetensi Dasar (KD) yang mencantumkan kompetensi yang harus dicapai siswa dalam pembelajaran sastra. Nilai moral sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran yang telah dirancang dalam Rancangan Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran maupun SilabusKata Kunci: NIlai moral, Novel, Andre Hirata, Kurikulum 2013

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare literary works in the novel Kemarau by A.A Navis and the novel The dry by Jane Harper. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. In the management of the data generated using the analysis of the theory of sociology of literature. This study uses a comparison table contained in the novel Kemarau by A.A Navis and the novel The Dry by Jane Harper. The results of comparison of social values contained in the two novels, the novel Kemarau by A.A Navis explains social values and the values about life contained in the novel Kemarau by A.A Navis. Meanwhile, Jane Harper's novel The Dry is quite the opposite, but there are still moral values inserted. Through this research, it is hoped that it can increase reader's interest in literary works, and can increase the interest of researchers in comparative literary research.Keywords: Novel, Comparative Literature, Drought, Fiction.

Abstract

This study aims to provide knowledge about the analysis of news framing in online media CNN Indonesia and Liputan6.com in reporting the Damage to Houses due to the Earthquake in Bali. In this framing analysis research using the approach of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of news analysis 1 and news analysis 2 have slightly different news titles, but the content conveyed is the same about the earthquake in Bali. The conclusion is in accordance with the theoretical analysis of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. Abstract

Fenomena proses pembelajaran di sekolah menunjukkan bahwa cukup banyak guru yang kurang mampu menggunakan retorika dengan baik dan efektif. Bahkan, guru cenderung tidak menyadari pentingnya retorika. Bahkan, tidak sedikit guru hanya menyampaikan maksudnya tanpa mengetahui apakah peserta didik telah paham atau tidak. Berangkat dari persoalan itu maka tujuan penelitian ini untuk menunjukkan bahwa guru dapat menggunakan pola dan pengorganisasian retorika yang berbeda dalam tuturan dengan peserta didik. Kemampuan guru dalam menghadapi peserta didik juga dapat dipengaruhi oleh tempat dan situasi yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif qualitatif. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada tuturan guru yang dilakukan selama melakukan interaksi dengan siswa di dalam kelas. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan yang mendasar tentang bagaimana pola tuturan, prinsip tuturan dan teknik pengembangan tuturan guru dengan siswa dalam interaksi belajar mengajar di kelas. metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah: observasi, recording (rekaman) dan wawancara. Teori yang digunakan ialah teorinya Mahsun (2005 : 234) yang berbunyi bahwa teknik dari pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tujuan agar teknik satu dengan teknik yang lain dapat saling melengkapi, setidaknya ada tiga jenis teknik pengumpulan data yang bisa dilakukan dalam penelitian sosiolingusitik dan tidak jauh beda dengan penelitian sosial. Hasil analisis diharapkan dapat menunjukkan penataan tuturan dan retorika berkomunikasi dalam pembelajaran di dalam kelas agar tercipta suasana yang harmonis, informatif dan edukatif bagi siswa agar tercapai tujuan pelajaran.Kata Kunci: Retorika, pembelajaran, tuturan

Abstract

This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research. The purpose of this research is to describe various types of directive speech in the film Hari that is promised. This study uses data collection techniques in the form of listening, note-taking, and documentation techniques. In addition, the data analysis process uses the agih and matching method. Because both are used to analyze inside and outside the language. The results of this study are that there are six directive utterances found, namely, invitations, requests, requests, orders, advises, and prohibitions. The directive speech that has been analyzed is also relevant to learning Indonesian in junior high school. In accordance with K.D 3.3 and 4.3 in SMP regarding slogan texts. Although it is stated in K.D that there are three texts, however, the focus of this research is the form of relevance to the slogan text in junior high school. In the module there are examples of slogan texts and supporting materials with linguistic features sub-chapters. An example of a slogan text can be taken from fragments of film dialogue that are included in the directive speech. Meanwhile, the linguistic features as supporting material are taken from the types of directive speech, such as invitations, requests, requests, orders, advice, and prohibitions. So it can be concluded that the directive utterances in the film The promised day can be relevant to learning Indonesian in junior high school.Keywords: Basic Competence, Learning, Directive Speech.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the structure of attributive nominal phrases in Sasak. The data was obtained by observing method and analyzed by direct constituent method. The results of data analysis show that the structure of attributive nominal phrases in Sasak is divided into six types. The results of the study show that the structure of attributive nominal phrases in Sasak is divided into six types. These types are attributive nominal phrases with attributes in the form of 1) nouns, 2) numerals, 3) verbs, 4) adjectives, 5) demonstratives, and 6) prepositional phrases.Keywords: Sasak language, attributive nominal phrases, functional structures of phrases, attributive structures of phrases
