Abstract

The general condition of the Open Unemployment Rate in South Kalimantan during 2018-2022 shows relatively increasing findings, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The volume of cooperative business and MSME turnover is one of the means that can be used to reduce it through GRDP as a forum that reflects regional economic conditions. This paper aims to make a deeper identification related to the direct and indirect relationship of cooperative business volume and MSME turnover to the open unemployment rate through GRDP in South Kalimantan Province Districts / Cities in 2018-2022. The data used in this study are secondary data collected through documentation methods and processed using quantitative methods with regression panel data to determine the direct influence between variables both simultaneously and partially and with path analysis using the Sobel test to determine the indirect influence between independent variables, namely the volume of cooperative businesses and MSME turnover on the dependent variable, namely the unemployment rate open through the intervening variable is. GRDP. The results of this study show a direct influence of the volume of cooperative businesses, MSME turnover, and GRDP on the open unemployment rate simultaneously. Only partially does MSME turnover significantly affect the open unemployment rate. Meanwhile, the volume of cooperative businesses and MSME turnover directly and partially affect GRDP. There is no indirect influence (through GRDP) on the volume of cooperative businesses or MSME turnover and the open unemployment rate in South Kalimantan Province.

Abstract

Abstract

The financial sector has a major influence on economic growth in Indonesia. Good modeling influences the accuracy of economic growth predictions and has an impact on the financial sector. Several models have been introduced to analyze the relationship between the two, but it is necessary to test which of these models is most appropriate. This research aims to find the best model of the financial sector's influence on economic growth in Indonesia. Three models were compared so that the best model was selected, namely the Bayesian Vector Autocorrelation (BVAR), Linear Regression, and Pseudo Poisson Maximum Likelihood (PPML) models. The comparison method was carried out to determine the best model from the third model using various criteria, and then an in-depth study of the best model was carried out by considering various diagnostic tests and stability tests. The analysis results show that the BVAR (2) model is the best model among the three existing models. However, some specific analysis results in the regression analysis model (such as the negative impact on CPS) and the PPML model (such as the high R-square) can be taken into consideration by policyholders in the financial sector in determining policies related to these areas for economic growth.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how taxes, interest rates, inflation, and economic growth affect investment in Indonesia. The variables analyzed included economic growth, interest rates, inflation, and taxes in relation to investment in Indonesia. The study used time series data from 2003 to 2022 and applied quantitative analysis, focusing on measurable data presented through equations, tables, and other formats. The empirical findings indicate that interest rates and economic growth both have a positive and significant impact on investment. While taxes also show a positive impact, their effect is not statistically significant. In contrast, inflation has a negative impact on investment. These findings may provide valuable insights for policymakers in formulating strategies to promote investment in Indonesia.

Abstract

While financial independence and regional economic growth have been recognized as key factors in public sector success, there is limited understanding of the specific dynamics in Bali Province, especially during the pandemic period of 2019-2021. This knowledge gap hinders an accurate evaluation of regional financial capability and independence, as well as their impact on Bali's economic growth. Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the impact of regional financial capacity and independence on economic growth in Bali during 2019-2021. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, using multiple linear regression analysis at a 95% confidence level (p<0.05). The results showed that both regional financial capacity and independence had a significant effect on economic growth in Bali. The analysis indicates that the regional financial independence ratio during 2019-2021 was low, showing an instructive relationship pattern. Meanwhile, the regional financial capacity ratio, though relatively limited, showed a positive relationship pattern. Additionally, fiscal decentralization and economic growth were found to negatively affect Bali’s poverty rate from 2003 to 2011. Overall, regional financial capacity and independence were shown to have a significant impact on the region’s economic growth. Further research is needed to explore the predisposing factors that affect economic growth, both external and internal

Abstract

Restoring degraded mangrove ecosystems is crucial in order to enhance the sustainability of coastal ecosystem environments, conserve biodiversity, and provide social, economic, and environmental benefits to communities. The objective of this research is to examine how mangrove restoration activities can contribute positively to the socio-economic livelihoods of the community in Teluk Pambang, Bengkalis Regency. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach and implemented in early November 2023. Data was collected in multiple ways, such as observation and documentation. The results showed that mangrove restoration activities provided several impacts. First, it was good for increasing community knowledge and understanding of the function and role of mangroves in coastal conservation efforts. After that, it enhanced community empowerment through the formation of agricultural groups such as Belukap and Langgadai, with 62.50% of group members actively participating in restoration activities from land clearing to planting stages. Finally, mangrove restoration activities conducted in Teluk Pambang village contributed positively to increasing the income of community members. Certainly, restoration activities have been perceived as highly beneficial in helping meet the daily needs of the families of agricultural group members. Therefore, it is hoped that the mangrove restoration efforts in Teluk Pambang village can be done sustainably.

Abstract

The relationship between credit and non-cash transactions includes various mechanisms that affect the money supply, ultimately increasing inflation. One way to control inflation is to maintain the circulation of money. This study provides an understanding of the impact of these transactions on inflation, especially in Indonesia. It aims to test whether cashless transactions, working capital credit, and consumer credit significantly affect Indonesia's inflation rate in both the short and long term. This study was quantitative in nature. It involved statistical analysis techniques through the Error Correction Model (ECM), t-test analysis, and F-test to determine the effect of independent variables on dependent variables both partially and simultaneously. The results revealed that cashless transactions, working capital credit, and consumer credit had a positive and significant effect on the inflation rate in Indonesia in both the short and long term. These results suggest that a more in-depth approach to economic policy is needed, especially focusing on the synergy between fiscal policy, technological developments, and inflation dynamics.

Abstract

Research related to social capital and poverty is still rare in Indonesia. Thus, this research aims to analyze social capital by examining three dimensions: trust, social participation, and tolerance, as reflected in the social capital index, and their impact on poverty in Indonesia. This research involved secondary data from Statistics Indonesia in the book Social Capital Statistics, published in 2021. This research used three independent variables: the social capital index for trust, social participation, and tolerance. Meanwhile, the dependent variable was the percentage of poor people in each province in Indonesia. The data were analyzed using a multiple linear regression method with hypothesis testing, namely classical assumptions. The results showed that social capital, as described in the social capital index for trust and social participation, significantly influenced poverty reduction. Meanwhile, the social capital index for tolerance had a minimal effect. These findings suggest that government efforts should focus on increasing community participation to develop social capital as one of the efforts to deal with poverty alleviation in Indonesia.
