Abstract

In the digital era marked by rapid technological and educational advancements, the development of teacher professionalism is a crucial aspect in realizing the educational goals of Indonesia. This literature study aims to investigate the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on the development of teacher professionalism. Using a systematic literature review approach, 33 relevant articles from credible databases (Google Scholar, Springer Link, and Science Direct) were analyzed focusing on motivation, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, teacher professionalism, and its development. The findings indicate that both intrinsic motivation, driven by internal desires such as interest, responsibility, and self-improvement, and extrinsic motivation, arising from external factors like rewards, recognition, and organizational support, play significant and complementary roles in fostering teacher professionalism. Intrinsic motivation encourages active engagement, creativity, and sustained commitment, while extrinsic motivation provides structure and reinforcement through training, incentives, and supportive leadership. The synergy between these motivations, supported by a conducive educational environment that fulfills teachers’ needs for autonomy, competence, and social relatedness, optimizes professional growth and positively impacts teaching quality and student outcomes. Therefore, strategies to enhance teacher professionalism should integrate approaches that nurture intrinsic motivation alongside appropriate extrinsic supports.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of employee creativity and perceived organizational support on job satisfaction among civil servant educators at Banyuwangi State Polytechnic, Indonesia. Guided by the Resource-Based View (RBV), we conceptualize employee creativity as a valuable, rare, and inimitable human resource that, when coupled with organizational support mechanisms, enhances job satisfaction. A quantitative design was employed, with data collected from 138 educators and analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Results demonstrate that both employee creativity (β = 0.412, p < 0.01) and perceived organisational support (β = 0.387, p < 0.01) significantly and positively influence job satisfaction. The findings support RBV propositions that creativity, when supported by the organization, can foster sustainable competitive advantage by enhancing employee satisfaction. This study advances RBV literature by demonstrating how intangible human resources and organizational capabilities function as complementary strategic assets in educational contexts. It provides novel insights for managing human resources in resource-constrained vocational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of management and psychology to enhance leadership effectiveness at MIN 1 Gresik. In the era of globalization and increasing complexity within educational organizations, leaders’ ability to manage both managerial and psychological aspects has become essential. The research employed a qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews and direct observations involving the principal, teachers, and administrative staff. The findings indicate that leaders with a strong understanding of emotional intelligence and group dynamics are able to create a positive and productive work environment. Leaders who are sensitive to the psychological needs of team members and capable of managing conflicts effectively contribute significantly to improving motivation and team engagement. Although there is awareness of the importance of psychological aspects in leadership, a substantial gap remains in the practical application of psychological principles within educational settings. Therefore, interpersonal skills training for leaders and staff is necessary to strengthen managerial competence, which can practically serve as a foundation for designing leadership development programs, formulating human resource development policies, enhancing communication, and fostering a supportive work culture oriented toward improving madrasah performance.

Abstract

This study explores the managerial dynamics of the Teaching Assistant Program (TAP) in bridging the theory-practice gap for pre-service teachers. It investigates how collaboration and innovation are managed to form professional self-efficacy within an Islamic higher education context. Employing a transcendental phenomenological design, this study analyzed the lived experiences of eight pre-service teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were gathered via in-depth interviews to 8 informants and analyzed using systematic thematic analysis. The study reveals that teacher efficacy is not a static outcome but a dynamic construction forged through the interplay of "safety nets" and "turning points." Collaboration with mentors functions as a psychological safety net that provides essential social persuasion, enabling students to take risks. Subsequently, pedagogical innovation serves as the turning point that generates authentic mastery experiences. However, the study identifies a critical managerial barrier: infrastructure disparities among partner schools often hinder this process, creating an "efficacy divide." Sustainable efficacy is further achieved through the cognitive reframing of failure from a personal burden to a professional challenge. The findings suggest that Teacher Education Institutions (LPTKs) must manage TAP not merely as an administrative placement but as a comprehensive psychological intervention. Management must standardize mentor support protocols and address facility gaps to ensure equitable professional development for all candidates.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of the fashion and beauty industries across three institutional settings: vocational education at a cosmetology-focused vocational high school, garment manufacturing enterprises, and non-formal skills training institutions in beauty services. The research was conducted from October to December 2025 at three locations in the Province of North Sumatra, Indonesia. A qualitative research design was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews involving seven informants, comprising one vocational cosmetology teachers, three garment manufacturing business owners, and three managers of beauty training institutions. The study was supported by a review of academic literature published within the last five years. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, including data reduction, theme development, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that management within the beauty sector emphasizes practice-based learning, hygiene and sanitation standards, salon management competencies, and industry partnerships. In contrast, garment manufacturing enterprises apply structured production management systems, industrial standard operating procedures, piece-rate wage systems, and manual quality control mechanisms. Beauty training institutions prioritize curriculum alignment with current industry demands, instructor certification, and structured industry internship programs. Supporting data indicate that labor demand in the beauty sector increased by 27%, while demand in the garment manufacturing sector rose by 18% over the past five years. This study provides a comprehensive overview of education and production management within Indonesia’s fashion and beauty industries, particularly in the context of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Abstract

This study aims to formulate and test an Islamic hybrid model to achieve sustainable development, through an in-depth analysis of the value integration mechanism, prerequisite conditions for the effectiveness of model implementation, and the determination of success indicators that measure the independence of governance and the economic sustainability of Islamic boarding schools. This model is formulated through four main components: Islamic financial governance, strengthening economic institutions, a digital accountability system, and integrative leadership, with success indicators including Islamic compliance, financial independence, institutional sustainability, and increased public trust. The study used a single qualitative case study at Darussalam Islamic Boarding School. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews with kiai (Islamic scholars), administrators, students, and stakeholders, participant observation, and institutional document analysis. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources and methods, as well as prolonged engagement. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of structured tawarruq is able to maintain sharia compliance while increasing the liquidity of Islamic boarding schools, and the Waqf-Holding scheme plays a role in creating long-term financial stability. The use of digital traceability strengthens transparency and donor trust, while the Kyai-Preneur leadership pattern has proven effective in synergizing spiritual authority with managerial competence. The contribution of this study lies in the novelty of the Hybrid Islamic Model as an integrative conceptual framework for tarbiyah-good governance that is applicable in realizing the independence and sustainability of Islamic boarding schools in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends in inclusive education policy in the Asian region during the period 2005–2025. A bibliometric approach was employed using the PRISMA method to select articles from the Scopus database through Publish or Perish, complemented by manual searches on Google Scholar. From an initial 184 documents, 21 articles met the inclusion criteria. Descriptive and visual analyses were conducted using VOSviewer, with a minimum threshold of three keyword occurrences. The results indicate a significant increase in publications after 2015, peaking during the 2023–2025 period. The most productive countries include China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Keyword mapping revealed two main clusters: policy and legal frameworks, and implementation and educational equity. These findings highlight a persistent gap between regulation and practice in inclusive education across Asia. This study contributes to a comprehensive mapping of inclusive education policy research trends and provides an empirical foundation for strengthening policy and implementation at the regional level.

Abstract

Low levels of language literacy achievement indicate a persistent gap between educational policy formulation and its implementation in school contexts. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of language literacy policies in schools through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA protocol, combined with bibliometric analysis. A total of 400 articles published between 2020 and 2025 were identified for bibliometric mapping, and after screening and eligibility assessment based on PRISMA criteria, 19 articles were selected for in-depth analysis. The findings reveal that the evaluation of language literacy policies is still predominantly based on the CIPP model and the use of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM), which tend to emphasize administrative compliance. Policy effectiveness is influenced by teachers’ professional capacity, school leadership, and the alignment of policy design with students’ social and linguistic contexts. Cross-study synthesis resulted in a Multi-Level Collaborative Evaluation Model that positions evaluation as an integral part of an evidence-based policy cycle. This study recommends strengthening adaptive and collaborative evaluation systems for language literacy policies. The study is limited by the number of articles reviewed and the dominance of the Indonesian context.

Abstract

This study aims to map research developments on teachers’ professional competence in inclusive education and to identify competencies relevant to supporting students with mild learning difficulties (slow learners). A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Literature searches in Scopus and Google Scholar covering the 2021–2025 period yielded 181 initial articles, of which 24 met the inclusion criteria. The methodological quality of the selected studies was appraised using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Data were analyzed through thematic synthesis and bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer to explore conceptual structures and research trends. The findings indicate that existing studies predominantly focus on inclusive education and teacher professional development, while slow learners remain a relatively marginal topic. Six key dimensions of teachers’ professional competence were identified: diagnostic–formative assessment, pedagogical differentiation, technology and assistive integration, social–emotional support, professional collaboration, and engagement within supportive institutional ecosystems. This review offers a concise conceptual framework and practical implications for strengthening teacher professional development in inclusive education context.
