Abstract

Despite the growing adoption of branding practices in educational institutions, limited research has examined how public schools in non-metropolitan areas develop institutional image within socio-communal environments characterized by limited digital access. This study investigates branding management practices in SDN Pandan and SDN Warugunung Pacet, two public elementary schools located in Mojokerto Regency, Indonesia. Employing an interpretive multiple-case study with a qualitative descriptive design, the research draws on in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school principals, teachers, school committee members, and parents. Guided by the Vision–Culture–Image Alignment framework of Corporate Branding Theory, the study explores how organizational vision, culture, and stakeholder perceptions interact in shaping institutional image. The findings reveal two distinct branding pathways. SDN Pandan applies a vision-driven strategic branding model characterized by structured programs and digital communication, while SDN Warugunung Pacet adopts a community-based branding model emphasizing relational trust, cultural internalization, and word-of-mouth communication. Based on these findings, the study proposes a Dual-Pathway Branding Framework that conceptualizes strategic alignment and community authenticity as complementary mechanisms for strengthening institutional legitimacy and visibility. The study contributes to corporate branding literature by highlighting the importance of socio-communal context in non-metropolitan educational settings.

Abstract

Digital transformation requires educational institutions not only to adopt technology but also to transform their leadership and innovation management practices. This study aims to analyze the role of school principals’ digital leadership in supporting innovation capacity and institutional competitiveness in K-12 educational institutions. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach using the PRISMA protocol to examine 12 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2021-2026, which were analyzed through thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that: (1) digital leadership is multidimensional and extends beyond technical competence, with its effectiveness determined by the ability to foster an innovation-oriented culture and implement structured digital strategies; (2) the influence of school principals on school innovation is mediated by teacher commitment, collaborative culture, and knowledge management; and (3) school innovation capacity is increasingly shaped by principals’ open innovation mindset in establishing external collaborative networks. This study contributes to strengthening the innovation management perspective within educational leadership research and provides a strategic framework that can be utilized to enhance innovation and institutional competitiveness sustainably.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires schools to develop adaptive leadership and managerial systems. This study aims to analyze the practices of democratic–transformative leadership and adaptive managerial approaches, as well as their impact on teacher performance at SDN 2 Kejobong in the digital era. The research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing verified through source triangulation. The findings indicate that democratic–transformational leadership is implemented through two-way communication, teacher involvement in decision-making, the provision of space for innovation, and the establishment of PLC (Professional Learning Communities). The adaptive managerial system is strengthened through the use of digital platforms, application-based coordination, and the provision of ICT facilities. The integration of these two aspects significantly enhances teachers’ digital competence, work motivation, instructional innovation, and professional responsibility.

Abstract

Employee well-being is an increasingly pressing strategic issue in the contemporary workplace, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to identify and understand the role of leadership in enhancing employee well-being in the workplace. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 20 scientific articles obtained from the Google Scholar academic database as well as relevant national and international journals, published within the last five years. The findings indicate that various leadership styles transformational, ethical, inclusive, servant, and virtuous have been proven to have a positive and significant impact on employee well-being. Effective leadership can enhance job satisfaction, reduce stress, strengthen employee engagement, and create a supportive and adaptive work environment. Conversely, negative and authoritarian leadership styles have a detrimental impact on employees’ psychological well-being. These findings reinforce that human-centered leadership strategies are key to achieving optimal employee well-being and driving overall organizational performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of organizational communication in the digital era at SMK Ma’arif NU 1 Rawalo Banyumas, focusing on changes in communication patterns, digital social stratification, and power relations within an Islamic-based educational environment. A qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving the principal, senior and junior teachers, students, and parents. The findings indicate that communication digitalization through WhatsApp and online learning platforms has transformed organizational communication from a bureaucratic hierarchical model into a digital network characterized by greater speed, flexibility, interactivity, and participation, enabling real-time information exchange and strengthening two-way communication. However, this transformation also generates digital social stratification due to disparities in technological literacy and access. Senior teachers tend to experience difficulties adapting to digital technologies and often depend on younger colleagues, while students with better technological access participate more actively in communication. Parents also face challenges in using digital communication media, affecting school interactions. Furthermore, digital communication spaces have reshaped power relations into more open and negotiable forms. These findings highlight that communication digitalization influences technical, social, and cultural dimensions, emphasizing the need for inclusive, adaptive, and Islamic value-based communication strategies.
