Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) at MAN 2 Sleman in improving the quality of inclusive education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation with a teacher who serves as the head of the Disability Service Unit (ULD) as well as the Vice Principal for Public Relations. The results showed that MAN 2 Sleman successfully managed the seven main components of MBS, including curriculum and learning, students, educators and education personnel, financing, facilities and infrastructure, school and community relations, and school culture and environment. Supporting factors include curriculum flexibility, teacher readiness and an inclusive school culture. However, the main challenge lies in the limited financial support specifically for the inclusion programme. Nevertheless, MAN 2 Sleman is able to create a friendly, equitable and supportive learning environment for all students, both regular and special needs. The findings suggest that implementing MBS can effectively improve the quality of inclusive education.

Abstract

The Special Allocation Fund for Physical Education (DAK Fisik Pendidikan) is used to develop and finance educational facilities and infrastructure in the regions to improve the quality of education. However, there is currently no relevant evidence to show that DAK Fisik Pendidikan can enhance the quality of education. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of DAK Fisik Pendidikan on the quality of education with the parameters of learning quality, literacy, and numeracy. The study uses secondary data from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in 2022 related to data on DAK Fisik Pendidikan, the condition of facilities and infrastructure, and education quality parameters. The data was then analyzed statistically. The results showed that the data did not have a normal distribution so non-parametric tests were conducted. DAK Physical Education has a weak correlation to improving the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure, in this case, the quality of classrooms and library space with a correlation value of r = 0.214. Both the quality of classrooms and library space show a weak correlation with the quality of student learning, literacy and numeracy. The quality of learning has a positive correlation with literacy and numeracy with coefficient values of 0.46 and 0.50 respectively. These findings show that the DAK fisik Pendidikan has little effect on improving the quality of education. This suggests that other factors have a greater influence than the provision of quality educational facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

The implementation of the character development program at the An-Nur Orphanage faces several challenges, primarily due to the absence of structured management. This study aims to analyze the application of da'wah management principles in shaping the character of children at the orphanage. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach, the study involved two key informants: the Head of the Orphanage and an Educator. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Findings reveal that applying da'wah management principles significantly supports character formation, particularly in fostering responsibility, discipline, cooperation, and understanding of Islamic values. Structured task division and regular religious activities contribute positively to the children's moral and social development. However, the study also identifies several barriers, including limited resources, insufficient caregiver training, and minimal community engagement. Enhancing the program’s effectiveness requires improvements in training, increased community involvement, and better resource management. This study offers valuable insights for orphanage administrators and the broader community in optimizing da'wah-based management to nurture strong, faith-based character in children.

Abstract

This study aims to comparatively analyze teachers’ perceptions of school principals’ managerial and supervisory competencies in public and private schools. Using a qualitative library research approach, the investigation was conducted from January to June 2024. Data were gathered through literature review of scholarly publications and school leadership policy documents, then subjected to descriptive-comparative analysis. Findings indicate that public school principals tend to employ structural-bureaucratic management with standardized supervision, whereas private school principals demonstrate greater flexibility and adaptive, clinical-collaborative supervision and planning. These differences are influenced by organizational culture, governance autonomy, and teachers’ professional experience. Private school teachers report higher satisfaction with supervision due to its responsiveness to their needs, while public school teachers value consistency and regulatory compliance. The study recommends developing a competency model for school principals that integrates flexibility and accountability, alongside strengthening continuous evaluation mechanisms to enhance leadership quality and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Innovative work behavior is a necessity for every organization to be able to adapt and solve problems effectively. This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of employee creativity and perceived organizational support on innovative work behavior among Civil Servant Educators at Banyuwangi State Polytechnic (Poliwangi), Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. This study employs a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with a saturated sampling method. The population consists of a homogeneous category, with a sample size of 138 individuals. Data were collected through a survey technique using a questionnaire distributed to the Civil Servant Educators at Poliwangi. The data analysis technique employed is partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results of the study indicate that employee creativity and perceived organizational support have a positive and significant effect on innovative work behavior in Poliwangi. The development of employee creativity can be improved through training, workshops, and collaboration between colleagues. Fresh ideas in each individual will encourage greater innovation. Organizational support can be done by increasing trust, internal communication, and work environment support will increase innovative work behavior. Innovative work behavior produces a proactive, adaptive, and solution-oriented mindset.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Induction Program for New Teachers (PIGP) implemented in Bandar District, Batang Regency, Central Java. A qualitative research approach with a case study design was employed. The research subjects consisted of civil servant teachers participating in the PIGP program. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that implementing the PIGP program in Bandar District aligns with existing regulations, specifically the Regulation of the Minister of National Education No. 27 of 2010 and the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education No. 5792 of 2019. The program has proven effective in supporting novice teachers in adapting to their professional environment and enhancing their pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. This effectiveness is evident in the increased self-confidence and preparedness of teachers in fulfilling their professional responsibilities. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including insufficient training for mentors, the unavailability of comprehensive technical implementation guidelines, and limited outreach efforts by the local education authorities. To address these issues, it is recommended that the implementation quality be improved through ongoing professional development for mentors and the provision of detailed technical manuals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the head of administration in improving the quality of administrative services at MTs Al-Washliyah Tembung. Effective and efficient administrative services are essential in supporting the smooth running of the education process in madrasahs. In this context, the head of administration has a strategic responsibility as an administrative manager, starting from planning, organizing, to monitoring and evaluating services. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the head of administration plays an important role in improving the performance of administrative staff, optimizing the use of information technology, and creating a more structured and responsive work system. Obstacles such as limited human resources and facilities are still challenges, but can be overcome through training, good coordination between staff, and innovation in the service system. In conclusion, the managerial role of the head of administration is crucial in creating quality administrative services and supporting the achievement of madrasah education goals.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the influence of students’ motivation to learn, their self-efficacy, and teachers’ interpersonal communication skills on academic achievement, employing a quantitative correlational research design. The research population consisted of all 288 twelfth-grade students at MAS Persiapan Negeri 04 Medan, with a sample size of 167 students determined using Slovin’s formula at a 5% margin of error. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics facilitated by Smart PLS 4 software. The results of the hypothesis testing indicated that the P-values for each independent variable were below the customary threshold of 0.05, which signifies a statistically significant positive effect on the dependent variable. Moreover, the collective influence of these independent variables was confirmed by a p-value of 0.000, further validating their joint impact, explaining approximately 70.8% of the variance in students’ academic performance. The remaining 29.2% of variance is attributable to other factors not accounted for within the scope of this study.

Abstract

The enforcement of discipline at school environment is important to create a condusive learning atmosphere. Howeverit sometimes faces child protection regulation poin 35 of 2014 about child’s protection. This study aims to examine the conflict appear between the implementation of disciplinary enforcement by the school and the legal limitations ruled in the child protection law, especially in SMA N 1 Kembang Jepara. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques and interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The result of the study showed there is dilemma faced by teachers and school stake holders in deciding strict action for students who break the rules for there is consideration of violating the children rights. This conflict appears because of lack of balanced understanding between legal protection for children and need for discipline in the education. The study recommends the need for special training for educators regarding legal limitations in enforcing discipline. As well as the importance of preparing national standart procedures (SOP)for discipline that are in line with statutory regulations. Effective communication could be done by the stake holders to minimize the different perception that triggers the emerged conflict.

Abstract

Teaching factory model learning is applied to create vocational education graduates who are competent and ready to work in facing the competitive labor market. The purpose of evaluating the implementation of the teaching factory is to determine the suitability of the implementation of the teaching factory with the guidelines for the implementation of the teaching factory. In addition, knowing the obstacles and solutions in their implementation according to the understanding of the teaching factory manager in the school. Using a qualitative approach with a case study on the Stigma Resto Teaching Factory by conducting interviews with PIC, Waka for Public Relations, and Waka for Curriculum. The interview was conducted to obtain information in the form of the main components of the teaching factory, namely the Block Schedule, Goods/Services Products, and Jobsheets. The information obtained shows that the implementation of the teaching factory is carried out according to the understanding and ability of managers who try to adopt the concept of the teaching factory model but are not fully in accordance with the Teaching Factory Implementation Guidelines of the Directorate of Vocational Development.
