Abstract

Soybeans are a strategic national commodity that plays an important role in food security. However, domestic production of high-quality soybeans remains low, leading to high dependence on imports. One strategy to reduce soybean imports is through a plant breeding program, which aims to produce high-yielding soybean varieties that can adapt well to various agroecological conditions. However, in practice, soybean breeders often face diverse soil conditions, which can cause instability in soybean performance. This study aims to evaluate the stability and adaptability of 14 soybean genotypes based on their phenotypic responses to three different environments. The parameters observed include plant height, flowering time, number of pods per plant, and number of seeds per plant. Analysis was conducted using the Eberhart and Russell stability model, considering the regression coefficient (bi), deviation from regression (Sd²), and standard error SE(bi). Results indicated significant genotype-environment interactions, reflecting the instability of some genotypes to changes in environmental conditions. The genotypes Detap 1, Detam 3 Prida, and Galur 122 showed high stability and broad adaptability across several agronomic traits, while the genotypes Wilis, Galur 106, and Devon 1 were classified as unstable with significant deviation values. Some genotypes, such as Anjasmoro and Devon 2, exhibited good stability but had more specific adaptability to certain environments. The results of this study provide a strong scientific basis for soybean variety selection, thereby improving land use efficiency, supporting consistent production planning, and reducing the risk of yield decline due to variety unsuitability to the growing environment

Abstract

Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica L.) is one of the high economic value plantation commodities widely cultivated in the highland areas of West Sumatra. This study aimed to identify diseases affecting Arabica coffee in the Solok Radjo Cooperative plantation. The study was conducted in coffee plantation by the Solok Radjo Cooperative and Laboratory of the Agroecotechnology, Department of Plantation Crop Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University, Dharmasraya, West Sumatera. Field surveys were carried out on plants exhibiting disease symptoms, followed by visual documentation, sampling of infected tissues, and laboratory analysis through microscopic observation and morphological identification of pathogens. The results revealed three major diseases: leaf rust (Hemileia vastatrix), leaf spot (Cercospora sp.), and fruit rot (Fusarium sp.), all of which have the potential to reduce coffee bean productivity and quality. These findings provide a scientific basis for developing effective and sustainable disease management strategies to support the improvement of Arabica coffee quality and production

Abstract

Maize (Zea mays L.) is a strategic food commodity in Indonesia, playing a crucial role in national food security as the second most important source of carbohydrates after rice, as well as serving as an essential raw material for the livestock feed industry and various agro-industrial sectors. The increasing demand for maize underscores the need for land intensification strategies, particularly in cultivation areas with spatial limitations such as intercropping systems. However, the success of intercropping is highly dependent on nutrient availability to improve the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil, thereby enhancing nutrient use efficiency. In this context, the present study aimed to evaluate the effects of NPK fertilizer application on the growth and productivity of maize under an intercropping system, in order to establish a scientific basis for effective, efficient, and sustainable fertilization recommendations. The experiment was conducted at the Dharmasraya Campus III Experimental Farm, Andalas University, from August to December 2025. The study employed a factorial experiment arranged in a Split Plot Design with two factors. The first factor consisted of two cropping systems: monoculture and polyculture, while the second factor comprised three NPK Mutiara 16-16-16 fertilizer rates: 150 kg ha⁻¹, 250 kg ha⁻¹, and 350 kg ha⁻¹. Each treatment combination was replicated three times, resulting in a total of 18 experimental plots. Observed parameters included vegetative growth variables—plant height (cm) and number of leaves at 28, 35, and 42 days after planting (DAP)—as well as generative variables—ear weight with husk (g), ear weight without husk (g), ear length with husk (cm), and ear length without husk (cm). Results indicated that the application of NPK at a rate of 350 kg ha⁻¹ (sub-plot treatment P3) produced a significant agronomic response, optimizing various growth parameters in both vegetative and generative phases. Based on these findings, a recommended practice is the application of 350 kg ha⁻¹ NPK fertilizer in three split doses at 7 DAP, 28 DAP, and 42 DAP, prior to the generative phase, to support ear development and yield potential. Further research is recommended to investigate the interaction of 350 kg ha⁻¹ NPK application with variations in plant spacing, maize varieties, and diverse agro-climatic conditions, in order to validate these results and refine fertilization recommendations for broader adoption in intercropping systems

Abstract

The development of digital media in early childhood education (ECE) presents both pedagogical opportunities and complex ethical challenges. This study aims to develop and evaluate a digital media model that balances educational innovation with child rights protection, focusing on the integration of teachers' digital literacy and child-friendly application design. A mixed methods approach with a convergent parallel design was employed, involving 12 teachers and 60 students from three ECE institutions in Jember Regency, along with 9 parents. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic techniques and descriptive statistics with NVivo 14 and SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that digital media usage in ECE remains largely passive and lacks ethical consideration, while teachers and parents express strong needs for educational and safe media. Interventions in the form of ethical digital literacy training modules and a prototype of a play-based digital learning application improved teachers’ ethical awareness and children's active engagement in learning. The products were revised based on field evaluations to align with local contexts and user characteristics. This research contributes conceptually by proposing an ethical digital pedagogy model and provides practical recommendations for policy development, application design, and training for teachers and parents to build a safe, inclusive, and meaningful digital education ecosystem for young children

Abstract

In the field of computer networks and telecommunications, one of the basic skills that must be mastered is the installation of UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cables. This skill is the main foundation in building network systems. However, in practice, the learning process often faces obstacles. Limited practice equipment, the risk of student errors that can cause equipment damage, and short learning times make it difficult for students to understand the concept in depth. This condition causes some students to have difficulty understanding the procedures and logic of UTP cable installation. To address these challenges, this study developed and tested a web-based simulation application called "Crosslink". This application is designed to provide an interactive learning experience without the risk of device damage. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) which aims to produce valid, practical, and effective learning products. There are two types of validators, namely material experts and media experts. Material experts’ assessments measure content suitability, while media experts’ assessments refer to ISO 25010, and user response testing uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) parameters. This study involved 35 students majoring in Computer Networking (TKJ) at SMK Ketintang Surabaya as respondents. The validation results from material experts were 86.67% and from media experts were 81.67%, indicating that the application meets software quality standards and is suitable for use in learning. Meanwhile, the user response results reached 80.47%, indicating that the application is easy to use in learning the UTP cable crimping process. These findings indicate that Crosslink not only meets the technical feasibility aspect, but also supports learning based on cognitive load theory by helping students focus on understanding crimping concepts without the risk of practical errors.

Abstract

The increasing number of motor vehicles in Indonesia has led to a rise in waste tires, which are difficult to decompose naturally. Utilizing this waste as road construction material aligns with the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle. This study aims to analyze the effect of waste tire crumb rubber as a fine aggregate substitute on the Marshall characteristics and volumetric parameters of Cold Asphalt Emulsion Mixture (CAEM). The experimental method was conducted using five substitution levels (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%), which were tested using the Marshall Test to determine stability, flow, Marshall Quotient (MQ), and volumetric parameters (VIM, VMA, VFA). The addition of recycled rubber from waste tires influences the mechanistic behavior of asphalt mixtures. Test results show a trend of increasing VIM and decreasing VMA and VFA, with the optimal void balance achieved at a rubber content of 5–10%. The elastomeric properties of the rubber particles enhance the elastic deformation capacity, thereby improving the mixture’s flexibility up to a 5% content. At 10%, the flow value decreases, indicating greater stiffness or stability. Higher contents tend to disrupt the continuity of the asphalt matrix and weaken the aggregate bonding, consistent with the material’s viscoelastic behavior. Therefore, a 5% rubber content provides the best balance between stability, flexibility, and void characteristics, while also improving the durability of the asphalt mixture. The use of this material offers environmental benefits by reducing solid waste and supporting the concept of sustainable development in pavement construction. Further studies are recommended to include water susceptibility tests, evaluations of plastic deformation under repeated loading, and field-scale testing to verify performance under actual service conditions

Abstract

The industrial shift to the 4.0 age necessitates the adoption of an energy monitoring system capable of giving real-time, precise data that is integrated into the manufacturing process. This research looks at the design and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Energy Monitoring System (EMS) for PT Communication Cable Systems Indonesia Tbk (CCSI), a fiber optic cable manufacturing firm with a relatively high operating energy consumption. The system was created through the following stages: issue identification, architectural design, prototyping, field implementation, technical validation, and financial analysis. A total of 88 monitoring points were mapped using a mix of digital kWh meters, NodeMCU 8266, RS485-TTL, and Hi-Link power supply modules that were linked via Wi-Fi to a central server for real-time dashboard viewing. The installation results showed enhanced energy data visibility, accuracy of electrical parameter readings, less mistakes due to manual recording, and the ability to spot consumption anomalies using heatmap visualization and performance indicators. Return on Investment (ROI) research revealed net profits beginning in the 21st month with an initial ROI of 2% and increasing to a cumulative ROI of 73% by the 36th month. This study demonstrates that IoT-based EMS may improve energy efficiency, lower operating costs, and enhance digital transformation capabilities in the industrial industry

Abstract

This study aims to categorise and analyse the perceptions of female students graduating from Kulliyatul Mu'allimat al-Islamiyyah (KMI) towards the UNIDA Regular community service programme using the K-Means Clustering algorithm. The categorisation was conducted to determine the level of acceptance among female students in an objective, efficient, and transparent manner as a basis for evaluation and development of future community service programmes. The research method used the CRISP-DM framework, which includes the stages of data understanding, data preparation, modelling, evaluation, and deployment. Primary data was obtained from a five-point Likert scale questionnaire completed by 561 respondents. The analysis was carried out through data cleaning and normalisation, modelling with the K-Means algorithm, determining the optimal number of clusters using the Elbow Method, and validation with the Silhouette Score. The results showed that the optimal number of clusters was three, namely positive (25%), neutral (41%), and negative (34%). The positive cluster had high motivation and attitude, the neutral cluster showed moderate scores with weak social aspects, while the negative cluster was low in almost all variables, especially motivation and experience. The Silhouette Score value of 0.61 indicates that the clustering quality is good. This study proves that the application of K-Means Clustering is effective in mapping female students' perceptions systematically and accurately. The results provide practical input for UNIDA to strengthen motivation, social support, and coaching and mentoring strategies so that the community service programme is received more positively

Abstract

The semi-arid region of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) faces increasing environmental pressures, including prolonged droughts, rising surface temperatures, and rapid runoff during short, intense rainfall events. These conditions necessitate nature-based solutions to restore hydrological balance and strengthen climate resilience. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of Green Infrastructure (GI) and Blue Infrastructure (BI) in addressing water scarcity and urban heat challenges, and to formulate an integrated GI–BI model that is adaptive to the socio-ecological conditions of NTT. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following PRISMA guidelines by examining nine recent international publications on GI–BI performance in semi-arid regions. Synthesis of the nine studies indicates that combinations of GI elements (bio-retention, green roofs, vegetated spaces, street trees) and BI components (retention ponds, natural channels, micro-reservoirs) consistently contribute to restoring 82–90% of pre-development water balance, reducing runoff by 35–45%, and lowering air temperatures by 3–5°C, depending on spatial configuration and local climatic variability. Key barriers to implementation include limited financing, weak cross-sectoral coordination, and insufficient long-term performance data. These findings underscore that GI–BI functions not only as technical interventions but also as critical policy instruments for adaptive spatial planning, green financing frameworks, and remote-sensing–based environmental monitoring in NTT. The study highlights the urgency of developing an integrated long-term implementation framework to ensure the sustainability of GI–BI adoption in enhancing regional climate resilience

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Android-based learning application called RasulEdu to support Islamic Education (PAI) learning, particularly the topic of the Prophetic Mission History for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Palangka Raya. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The application’s visual elements were designed using Canva, while the development process utilized Smart App Creator. Product validation was conducted by experts in Islamic material, instructional media, and educational technology. Data analysis covered product feasibility assessment and measurement of digital literacy improvement through pretest–posttest. The validation results indicated a feasibility score of 91%, categorized as highly feasible. Field testing involving 30 students showed an increase in the average digital literacy score from 65.3 to 84.7. These findings demonstrate that RasulEdu is effective in enhancing students’ digital skills and understanding of the Prophetic mission material. Overall, the application serves as an interactive and relevant digital learning tool that supports PAI instruction in the modern educational setting.
