Abstract

The study indicates the interferences occurred by the Kaurnese and Rejangnese students in pronouncing English sounds and the factors that affect pronunciation interference of Kaurnese and Rejangnese students in pronouncing English sounds. The respondents were ten students of the English Education Study Program. They are five Kaurnese students whose L1 is Kaurnese and five Rejangnese students whose L1 is Rejangnese. The researcher applied a qualitative approach and conducted a case study design. The instruments used to collect the data were observation by reading a list of words and interviews about factors affecting students' pronunciation interference. The result of data analysis showed that Kaurnese students had interference in pronouncing 30 sounds while Rejangnese students had interference in pronouncing 22 sounds. The data also showed that three main factors influence students' pronunciation; native language, age, and the difference in language features between English and students' native language. In conclusion, all Kaurnese and Rejangnese students had interference in pronouncing English sounds. Kaurnese language is more interference with English pronunciation than the Rejangnese language. Based on the above context, this study suggests the students practice more English pronunciation and put more attention to the native language interference. The lecturer is expected to be able to help the students to reduce the mispronounced words. The study also suggests that further researchers take special attention to this phenomenon to solve the students' problems with English pronunciation.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendapatkan gambaran yang jelas tentang bagaimana sistem penggajian diterapkan di PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Cabang Sudirman Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi pustaka dan investigasi langsung (deskriptif kualitatif). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem penggajian yang digunakan sudah terprogram dimana gaji dihitung sesuai masa kerja dan tingkat pendidikan dengan memperhatikan beban tugas dan tanggungjawab. Implikasi dari penelitian ini bahwa perhitungan gaji sudah dilakukan berdasarkan prosedur penggajian yang baik.

Abstract

The era of revolution 4.0 requires educators and students to have skills that are able to compete globally. One of the skills that are becoming a trend today is digital literacy. Mastery of communication technology is one of the subjects that are able to answer these challenges. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using Learning CDs in information and communication technology subjects. By using quantitative and design methods pseudo used in the study this is a Randomized Two - group Design  Posttest Only analyzed with statistical formulas, it was found that the results of learning technology information and communication groups of students who are taught using learning CDs experience a significant increase.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: (1) self regulated learning, dukungan sosial orangtua, dan perilaku prokrastinasi akademik, (2) regulated learning terhadap prokrastinasi akademik, (3) dukungan sosial orangtua terhadap Perilaku Prokrastinasi Akademik, dan (4) menguji korelasi self regulated learning dan dukungan sosial orangtua serta perilaku prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif  jenis korelasi. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik proportional stratified random sampling diperoleh sebanyak 244 orang siswa. Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif, regresi sederhana, dan regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tingkat self regulated learning berada pada kategori tinggi, (2) dukungan orang tua juga dalam kategori tinggi, (3) perilaku prokrastinasi akademik dikategorikan tinggi, (4) self regulated learning memberikan hubungan yang signifikan terhadap pengurangan  perilaku prokrastinasi akademik, (5) dukungan sosial orang tua memberikan hubungan`yang signifikan terhadap pengurangan perilaku prokrastinasi akademik dan (6) self regulated learning dan dukungan sosial orang tua secara bersama-sama terhadap pengurangan perilaku prokrastinasi akademik.

Abstract

When writing in English, the students of SMA 15 Padang found two obstacles. The first issue was that the teacher's approach did not motivate students to write. This challenge increased the second issue, namely the students' apathy. The pupils were unmotivated and uninterested in writing. In other words, the students were uninterested. To address the two concerns, the researcher did a classroom action research that involved five stages: developing the context, modeling and deconstructing the text, cooperative production of the text, autonomous construction of the text, and linking to relevant text. The study found that implementing a teaching and learning cycle built from a genre-based approach might improve the teaching and learning process in writing classes. This was evident from the results of a checklist observation, which revealed that virtually all pupils appreciated the manner the instructor taught and that the majority of them were engaged in their study. The questionnaire results also revealed that 96 percent of the students were interested in the teacher's method and 98.8 percent of the pupils were already engaged in learning. By recording 10 pupils in each cycle, those data were also validated to the results of the interviews. According to the interview data, the majority of the students expressed an interest in the teacher's method and writing in English. Finally, implementing a teaching and learning cycle developed from a genre-based approach might increase students' enthusiasm to write in English. Hopefully, it will be a significant contribution for the teacher and other scholars to teach and conduct research, particularly in the teaching of writing.

Abstract

This research is constrained by the lack of students understanding phenomenon description in carrier planning after graduation from Senior High School 3 Padang. The academic self concept and locus of control are suspected factors affecting students career planning. The aims of this study are (1) to analyze the student’s career planning of the SMAN 3 Padang, (2) to analyze the student’s academic self concept of the SMAN 3, (3) to analyze the student’s locus of control of the SMAN 3 Padang, (4) to examine the contribution of academic self concept to the student’s career planning of the SMAN 3 Padang, (5) to examine the contribution of locus of control to the student’s career planning of the SMAN 3 Padang, (6) to examine the contribution of academic self concept and locus of control to the student’s career planning of the SMAN 3 Padang.  The research uses a quantitative method of descriptive type of correlation. The research population is 358 students, the amount of sample is 189 students. It was selected by proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instrument used is the scale of the likert model. The data are analyzed with descriptive statistics, simple regression, and multiple regression. The findings of the study showed that: (1) the description of planning of carrier is on high category, (2) the description of self academic self concept is on high category, (3) the description locus of control in the internal categories, (4) the academic self concept contributes to increasing of student’s career planning, (5) locus of internal control categories contributes to increased student’s career planning, (6) the academic self concept and locus of control contributes together on improving of student’s career planning. The implication of the result is able to become necessity analysis in Guidance and Counseling service and as a basic in conducting the program.

Abstract

Pemasaran melalui media sosial saat ini sangat memberikan peluang besar bagi pelaku usaha, dalam rangka memasarkan produk atau jasa yang mereka miliki dengan lebih cepat dan konsumen dapat melihat produk dan jasa secara langsung melalui media sosial. Rumusan masalah penelitian mencakup penambahan strategi pemasaran pelaku usaha jasa makeup dengan menggunakan media sosial. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan sehingga metode penelitian menggunakan studi pustaka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) Mengetahui startegi pemasaran untuk meningkatkan minat konsumen pada pelaku usaha jasa makeup. (2) Mengetahui pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai media pemasaran berdasarkan kajian pustaka yang ada. Berdasarkan hasil kajian pustaka atau literatur yang ada, diperoleh temuan peneliti bahwa Pelaku usaha jasa make up yang dahulu hanya menerapkan pemasaran menggunakan media iklan berupa brosur, dengan adanya pesaing yang semakin banyak pelaku usaha jasa makeup harus menerapkan strategi pemasaran yang modern dengan menggunakan media sosial sebagai sarana pemasaran online untuk mempengaruhi daya tarik konsumen untuk memakai jasa makeup yaitu dengan menggunakan instagram dan aplikasi penyedia jasa makeup. Melalui artikel ini diharapkan pelaku usaha jasa makeup bisa memanfaatkan media sosial seperti instagram dan aplikasi penyedia jasa makeup sebagai strategi pemasaran untuk menunjang minat terhadap jasa yang di sediakan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui pengaruh secara parsial pengalaman praktek kerja industri dan Self Efficacy terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa SMK Busana Butik; 2) mengetahui pengaruh secara simultan pengalaman praktek kerja industri dan self efficacy terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa SMK Busana Butik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex-post facto. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMK Busana Butik SMK Negeri 6 Padang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proporsional random sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif, analisis regresi linier sederhana dan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat adanya pengaruh secara parsial pengalaman praktek kerja industri sebesar 0,617 = 61,7% dan pengaruh self efficacy sebesar 0,681= 68,1% terhadap minat berwirausaha. Variabel pengalaman prakerin dan Self Efficacy secara simultan memiliki kontribusi pengaruh terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa sebesar 69,7%. Nilai Fhitung sebesar 36,446 yang lebih besar dari ttabel sebesar 2,70. Dengan arti pengalaman prakerin dan self efficacy memiliki pengaruh terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa Busana Butik secara parsial dan simultan.

Abstract

Today traffic accidents that happen in domination by high school students, shows that traffic violations need important handling to be overcome. this research objects to analyze students' regulation conditions in traffic violations. This type of research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, using a data collection tool in the form of a self-regulation questionnaire in traffic. The subjects of this study were vocational high school students. The sample in this study was 65 vocational high school students. Subjects were taken by simple random sampling technique. This study uses data analysis techniques with descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that self-regulation consists of various aspects. Each aspect has a different percentage. The aspect of metacognition ability has a moderate percentage of 60.0%, the motivational aspect of self-regulation has the lowest percentage with 55.4%, while the behavioral aspect has a percentage of 66.2% in the medium category. The results of this study can be used as information for counseling teachers or counselors as a basis in efforts to provide assistance to students to improve adolescent self-regulation in traffic in order to prevent negative behavior, one of which is traffic violations that often occur in adolescents.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh budaya individual dan kolektif terhadap pembentukan perilaku komunikasi dan  gaya komunikasi kepemimpinan Rektor Universitas Andalas (pengalaman komunikasi Werry Darta Taifur dan Tafdil Husni) dalam konteks rumah tangga, lingkungan dan organisasi dibantu dengan teori tindakan sosial dari Max Weber dan konsep gaya komunikasi Moss. Selain itu penelitian ingin melihat low context culture dan high context culture kedua rektor. Hasil penelitian ini memaparkan bahwa budaya individual banyak berpengaruh dalam pembentukan perilaku komunikasi dibandingkan dengan budaya kolektif. Werry Darta Taifur dan Tafdil Husni menggunakan komunikasi langsung “low context culture”dalam berkomunikasi dengan keluarga, lingkungan dan organisasi. Namun pada beberapa persoalan juga menggunakan komunikasi tidak langsung “high context culture”. Semakin banyak nilai individualistik yang dipegang individu dan semakin mandiri dalam membangun konsep dirinya, maka semakin banyak menggunakan komunikasi langsung “low context culture”. Dalam rumah tangga gaya komunikasi yang digunakan Werry Darta Taifur adalah the controlling style dan the equalitarian style, Sedang Tafdil Husni memakai gaya komunikasi  The controlling style, the equalitarian style dan  The dynamic style. Pada konteks lingkungan gaya komunikasi Werry Darta Taifur dan Tafdil Husni hanya terlihat satu saja yaitu the equalitarian style. Pada konteks organisasi gaya komunikasi Werry Darta Taifur dan Tafdil Husni yakni the controlling style, the equalitarian, the structure style, the dynamic style dan the reliquinshing style.
