Abstract

This study evaluates the performance of the Madrasah Committee in improving the quality of education, focusing on its roles in planning, implementing, and monitoring programs. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the study collected data through interviews, observations, and document analysis at a single madrasah in Aceh. The findings reveal that the committee effectively supports madrasah development by engaging in resource mobilization, improving teacher competencies through training programs, and fostering community participation. However, challenges such as limited financial resources and ineffective communication among stakeholders hinder optimal performance. Recommendations include enhancing committee training, increasing collaboration with external partners, and establishing clear communication frameworks. The study highlights the importance of the Madrasah Committee as a strategic partner in creating an inclusive and high-quality education system. Future research should consider a comparative analysis across different madrasahs to provide a broader understanding of the committee’s impact.

Abstract

Curriculum management is a strategic component in ensuring educational quality, particularly in the context of vocational education such as Vocational High Schools (SMK). Changes in national education policy and the dynamics of industry demand an adaptive, participatory, and contextual curriculum management system. This study aims to uncover how the implementation of curriculum management at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bambanglipuro contributes to improving school well-being, encompassing the dimensions of teachers, students, facilities, and institutions. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was used to understand the direct experiences of educational stakeholders related to the curriculum management process at the school. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies with three main participants: the principal, the vice principal for curriculum, and teachers. The results indicate that the implementation of curriculum management reflects synergy with industry, adjustments to the Independent Curriculum, and ongoing teacher training. Collaborative practices, such as the Teaching Factory with industry partners (Astra, Daihatsu, Jogja TV), also support the achievement of school well-being, both professionally, materially, and institutionally. This study recommends strengthening the curriculum evaluation system and developing industry partnerships as sustainable strategies to improve school quality and well-being.

The key informants comprised the principal, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and teachers of MTs Az Zahro. Data were analyzed through processes of reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, while the credibility of findings was ensured through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results reveal that the principal fulfills an active role as a motivator, role model, and supervisor. He encourages teachers by adopting persuasive strategies, engaging directly in school activities, and providing recognition for strong performance. His democratic and communicative leadership style has fostered a positive and collegial working environment. The majority of teachers demonstrated a strong work ethic, reflected in their discipline, sense of responsibility, and enthusiasm for teaching. Nevertheless, a small number of teachers exhibited decreased motivation, attributed to professional fatigue or external challenges.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic Education Management functions in improving the quality of learning at MAN 2 Kabupaten Bandung. The research aims to analyze how planning, organizing, directing, and controlling are applied in daily academic management and how these functions contribute to learning quality. This study is based on original qualitative research using a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the vice principal for curriculum affairs as the main informant, supported by observations and document analysis related to learning management. The findings reveal that learning quality improvement is strongly influenced by participatory planning, collaborative organizing through teacher forums, value-based leadership in directing teachers, and continuous academic supervision oriented toward professional development rather than control. The integration of Islamic values, particularly through structured religious programs, strengthens both academic and spiritual dimensions of learning quality. However, the study also identifies challenges, including high administrative workloads for teachers and frequent curriculum policy changes that limit pedagogical innovation. The study recommends strengthening adaptive management policies, simplifying administrative demands, and enhancing professional collaboration to ensure sustainable improvement in learning quality. These findings contribute to Islamic education management studies by providing empirical evidence of integrated management practices in a madrasah context.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) at Mindanao State University–Integrated Laboratory School (MSU-ILS) Philippines, as a strategic effort to build sustainable educational quality. MSU-ILS is a laboratory school under the College of Education- Mindanao State University, which plays a dual role as a provider of basic and secondary education and as a training ground for prospective teachers. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this research collected data through document analysis, direct observations, and in-depth interviews with school leaders, and teachers to obtain a comprehensive understanding of quality management practices. The findings reveal that MSU-ILS applies TQM principles in an integrated manner through a clear institutional vision, student-centered educational services, continuous improvement initiatives, quality-oriented leadership, and strong collaboration among internal and external stakeholders. These practices are embedded in academic programs, character education, peace education, and organizational culture, supporting the development of an inclusive, transformative, and peace-oriented learning environment, particularly within a post-conflict social context. The study demonstrates that successful implementation of TQM in education extends beyond academic achievement to include character formation, innovation, stakeholder engagement, and long-term organizational commitment. This research provides practical insights for educational institutions, especially schools undergoing quality transformation, to adopt TQM principles as a strategic framework for enhancing educational management, institutional effectiveness, and sustainable school development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformational leadership mechanisms of principals in building organizational learning in Islamic boarding schools (SMK Pesantren). The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies over six months, then analyzed using iterative thematic analysis techniques. The results show that organizational learning is formed through a multi-layered process that begins with moral legitimacy based on religious values, followed by the development of a participatory vision, the creation of a collective reflective space, and systematic individual development. Transformational leadership functions not only as a leadership style but also as a transformation mechanism that integrates institutional values with modern managerial practices. These findings extend the educational leadership literature by demonstrating that the effectiveness of transformational leadership in the context of Islamic boarding schools is strengthened by moral legitimacy and collective culture. This study contributes theoretically through a processual model that explains the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational learning and practically provides a strategic framework for strengthening the organizational capacity of value-based schools.

Abstract

Improving the quality of teachers is a key factor in realizing the quality of sustainable madrasah education, but there are still many madrasas facing limited resources and have not implemented quality management systematically. This study aims to analyze the implementation of quality management based on the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) approach in improving the quality of teachers at MI Miftahul Ulum Panyiuran and examine its integration with the values of Islamic education management. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The results of the study showed that planning was carried out in a participatory manner through RKM and RPT, competency-based organization and deliberation, implementation through continuous training and comparative studies, and evaluation through supervision and program evaluation. The implementation of POAC has an impact on improving teacher professionalism, a culture of cooperation, a conducive learning climate, and a quality culture. The integration of the values of tadbir, syūrā, tarbiyah, and muḥāsabah strengthens the moral-spiritual dimension, although there is still a need for more measurable quality indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Al-Quran education curriculum management in optimizing early childhood learning at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal (ABA) I Kindergarten, Aek Kanopan Timur, North Labuhanbatu. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, involving the principal, teachers, students, and parents as informants. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, while data analysis used data condensation techniques that included selecting, focusing, and simplifying data to draw conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of curriculum management has been carried out regularly through planning (annual, semester, and weekly programs), the implementation of play-based learning approaches with varied methods, and continuous authentic evaluation. This implementation has a positive impact on improving the ability to read hijaiyah letters, memorize short verses, and children's interest and love for the Al-Quran. However, there are obstacles in the form of differences in children's abilities, limited infrastructure, and suboptimal parental support. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening collaboration between schools and parents, improving teacher competency, and developing innovative media and technology-based learning methods to support the optimization of Qur'an learning in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic education management and the leadership strategies of the madrasah principal in managing the daytime learning system under conditions of limited facilities and infrastructure at MTs Annur in Sorong City. This is a qualitative study using a case study design involving 19 informants, consisting of the madrasah principal, vice principal, teachers, administrative staff, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that management functions including planning, organizing, executing, and supervising are carried out adaptively and contextually in response to space constraints through the implementation of the daytime learning system. Furthermore, the madrasah principal’s leadership strategies, which are oriented toward exemplary conduct, service, and participation, contribute to fostering a work culture that is disciplined, communicative, and collaborative. The integration of management functions with the values of servant leadership has proven to support the effectiveness of learning as well as organizational sustainability. This study recommends strengthening adaptive leadership and developing a service-based management model in the administration of madrasahs facing resource constraints.
