Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of principal leadership on the work motivation of administrative staff at SD Inpres 3 Talise, Palu City. This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The study population consisted of 6 administrative staff, so the entire population was sampled using a saturated sampling technique. In this study, the data collection method was carried out through a questionnaire using a Likert scale. Data analysis used validity, reliability, normality, and simple linear regression tests with the help of SPSS. The results showed that principal leadership had a positive and significant effect on the work motivation of administrative staff. This was evidenced by a significance value smaller than 0.05 so that the research hypothesis was accepted. The better the principal's leadership, the higher the work motivation of administrative staff. This study recommends that principals improve their leadership, communication, supervision, and motivational skills to administrative staff so that their performance and work spirit are optimal.

Abstract

The implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in madrasas is often perceived as an administrative requirement, so it has not been fully developed into a sustainable quality culture. This condition requires leadership that integrates Islamic values, quality governance, and institutional sustainability. This study aims to analyze Islamic leadership strategies in implementing SPMI to support the sustainability of MI Miftahul Akhlaqiyah Semarang. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving the head of madrasah, deputy head, SPMI team, teachers, administrative staff, foundation representatives, school committee, parents, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings show that the values of shiddiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathanah are operationalized through data transparency, task distribution, quality communication, deliberation, exemplary behavior, and needs-based decision-making. SPMI has been implemented through the cycle of standard setting, implementation, evaluation, control, and quality improvement, although documentation, evaluation indicators, and follow-up mechanisms still require strengthening. This study concludes that Islamic leadership functions as an integrative strategy for developing quality culture and madrasa sustainability. The implication is that madrasas need to strengthen value-based quality evaluation systems consistently, participatively, and systematically.

Abstract

This study investigates the service quality of boarding madrasah through the systematic integration of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs with the student guidance management programme at Ma’had Insan Cendikia MTs Negeri 1 Banyumas. Boarding madrasahs confront two simultaneous demands: compliance with national curriculum mandates and the operational management of student residential life. A qualitative approach grounded in interpretive phenomenology was employed, involving nine purposively selected key informants drawn from student, dormitory supervisor, and parent groups. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document review, and were subsequently analysed using thematic analysis. The findings demonstrate that: (1) integrating the PAI curriculum under KMA 183/2019 with the residential curriculum produces a holistic educational model that aligns formal instruction, intensive Qur’anic memorisation (tahfidz), and tiered character development; (2) student guidance management operates through a structured and transparent communication system that fosters triangular collaboration among students, families, and the ma’had; (3) service quality is evidenced by the institution’s capacity to facilitate students’ developmental progress across three sequential phases—initial adjustment, stabilisation, and self-transformation underpinned by consistent family support; and (4) the admission of the first graduating cohort to leading educational institutions validates the effectiveness of this integration model. The study contributes a theoretically grounded triangular-collaboration curriculum model and offers practical recommendations for developing holistic support systems within boarding madrasah settings.
