Abstract

This study explores local government performance from the perspectives of human resources and public welfare, providing evidence from various regions in Indonesia. Performance is the outcome of a lengthy process of activities. This research aims to investigate local government performance, given the ongoing questions about whether governmental performance has truly improved, especially in light of increasing corruption cases each year. The study uses panel data covering 500 regions in Indonesia over a 5-year period (2018-2022). This is an analysis technique applied Structural Equation Modeling  Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with WARP-PLS software. The findings reveal that local government performance benefits greatly from public welfare. These findings indicate that public welfare represents the standard against which local government actions are judged

Abstract

Truancy among school-going adolescents remains a persistent issue in education systems globally, impacting academic careers, social relationships, and future prospects. Research indicates that truancy is linked to adverse outcomes, including academic underperformance and significant curricular gaps, which affect both individuals and society. Students who skip school are more susceptible to negative influences that can harm society. To address this issue, we propose a system for monitoring students' locations, enabling parents and teachers to track their whereabouts effectively. This study developed an Android-based student location monitoring application with geofencing to assist parents and teachers during school hours. The geofence is polygon-shaped to accurately represent geographical conditions, utilizing the winding number algorithm to detect a point's position relative to the polygon. However, the algorithm was modified with cross product and dot product calculations to accurately detect points on the polygon's boundary. The waterfall methodology was employed throughout this study. Implemented at PGII 1 Bandung Junior and Senior High School, the application effectively monitored students from a distance. The modification of the winding number algorithm improved accuracy, achieving 100% accuracy in 36 testing scenarios. Evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an average score of 76.17 from 64 respondents, placing the application in the acceptable category for the acceptability range, grade C on the grade scale, and good for adjective ratings. This indicates that the application is well-accepted and can be effectively used by users

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the factors that influence the disclosure of carbon emissions in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2020-2022. This study focuses on several variables, such as the global reporting initiative (GRI), external auditor reputation, and leverage to determine their influence on the company's decision to disclose carbon emissions. This study uses quantitative methods with the population being all manufacturing companies listed on the IDX. Using purposive sampling method, 63 companies were selected as samples. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that GRI and external auditor reputation have a positive influence and leverage has a negative influence on carbon emissions disclosure. These findings support the importance of companies to continuously improve their environmental performance in an effort to reduce the impact of global climate change. The implications of this study are relevant for companies, investors, and policy makers focused on improving sustainability practices in the corporate sector

Abstract

Indonesia experienced an increase in extreme poverty during the Covid-19 pandemic, rising from 9.22% in 2019 to 10.14% in 2020. In response to the target of reducing extreme poverty to 0% by 2024, Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2022 on the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Eradication was issued as the foundation for cooperation among policymakers at both the central and regional levels. The 2020-2024 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) targets a reduction in the poverty rate in North Maluku to 6.19%. In reality, the poverty rate in North Maluku Province reached 6.39% in 2022, while in 2023, the poverty rate decreased to 6.25%. This indicates that the target set in the RPJMD is unlikely to be achieved, as 2024 is the final year of the current government’s term. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of economic growth, employment opportunities, the availability of economic infrastructure, human capital (HR), and financial inclusion on extreme poverty in the districts and cities of North Maluku. This study employs a quantitative analysis method (Structural Equation Modeling). The results of the study provide sufficient evidence that financial inclusion acts as a mediating variable in the relationship between employment opportunities, economic infrastructure, HR capacity, and basic infrastructure, which all have a significant positive impact on extreme poverty. Based on the findings, it is strongly explained that high economic growth in North Maluku Province does not significantly reduce extreme poverty

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of artificial intelligence and digital marketing on online purchase intention, with customer experience as a mediating factor among students at Al Washliyah University, Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra. This quantitative descriptive study targets a population comprising all students at Univa Labuhanbatu, from which a sample of 100 students was selected. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire designed on Google Forms and distributed via WhatsApp to ensure broad reach among participants. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), facilitated by SmartPLS software, was employed to analyze the data. The findings of this study reveal several key insights: first, artificial intelligence has a positive and significant impact on purchase intention. Second, digital marketing similarly exerts a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. Third, customer experience is shown to effectively mediate the relationship between artificial intelligence and purchase intention, indicating that improved customer interactions enhance the AI’s impact on purchasing behaviors. Lastly, customer experience also mediates the relationship between digital marketing and purchase intention, demonstrating the importance of customer engagement in optimizing digital marketing effectiveness. These findings underscore the critical role of customer experience as a bridge linking AI and digital marketing efforts to purchasing intentions, especially within a university student demographic in a digital context
