Abstract

Today’s global humanitarian crises—ranging from armed conflicts, refugee displacement, extreme famine, to ecological disasters—require an ethical framework capable of balancing universal human values with religious moral principles. Islamic ethics, grounded in the concept of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, which emphasizes the protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-‘aql), and human dignity (ḥifẓ al-‘ird), offers an important perspective in responding to contemporary humanitarian challenges. However, studies examining the direct application of Islamic ethics in modern humanitarian practices, particularly within digital spaces and online communities, remain limited. This research employs a netnography approach to explore digital interactions, narratives, and discourses related to humanitarian actions inspired by Islamic ethical values across social media platforms, community forums, and websites of Islamic philanthropic organizations. Data were collected through online participatory observation, analysis of digital conversations, and virtual in-depth interviews with humanitarian activists. The findings reveal that the values of rahmah (compassion), ‘adl (justice), and ukhuwwah insāniyyah (human solidarity) serve as key moral foundations, while social media functions not only as a fundraising tool but also as a space where Islamic ethics are interpreted and mobilized to address global issues such as climate crises, forced migration, and inequality.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are educational institutions that provide religious knowledge to their students. However, apart from that, Islamic boarding schools have a significant contribution to the survival of their alumni. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of Islamic boarding schools in developing entrepreneurship among students at the Darul Ihsan Salohe Islamic Boarding School. In this study, the method used is a qualitative method that involves several data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. To analyze the data, the researcher used several steps, namely data reduction: data is collected and processed to reduce its complexity. Data presentation: The reduced data is presented in a form that is easy to understand and then conclusions are drawn. The results of this study found that the Darul Ihsan Salohe Islamic Boarding School facilitates its students to become entrepreneurs to earn their own income. This is very useful for students because they can earn money from these businesses without burdening their parents. In addition, the economy at the Islamic Boarding School can be improved by the existence of this business unit.

Abstract

The goal of Islamic education is to shape individuals who are harmonious between obedience to Allah SWT and responsibility towards society. However, current conditions actually show a social ethical crisis reflected in moral decline, individualism, and a lack of social solidarity. The Prophet's hadith, as the second authoritative source in Islam, contains actual educational principles to address these issues. One of the Prophet's hadiths that is rich in social education messages is the parable of the believer like a bee, which describes a person who is critical in choosing values, actively does good, and does not harm his social environment. This study aims to analyze the social education values ​​contained in the hadith and describe their implications for the development of contemporary Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study. Primary data is the hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad and his book of syarh (explanation), while secondary data comes from educational literature and related scientific articles. Data analysis was carried out through tracing the text of the hadith in the Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal, a thematic-contextual study of the quality and understanding of the hadith, and content analysis from an educational perspective. The results of the study show that the hadith contains values ​​of moral integrity, social productivity, and constructive interaction ethics, so that it is relevant to be used as a conceptual basis for the development of Islamic education in responding to social challenges in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically analyze the implementation and effectiveness of the Ummi Method in Qur’anic learning across various Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by identifying and selecting journal articles published between 2016 and 2025. Based on the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 15 articles were obtained and analyzed through thematic synthesis. The findings indicate that studies on the Ummi Method are predominantly qualitative in nature, focusing primarily on the implementation process. A consistent pattern of implementation includes teacher certification, the application of the seven structured stages of instruction, and the use of the ten quality assurance pillars as an operational framework. In terms of effectiveness, most studies report improvements in students’ Qur’anic reading skills, particularly in tajwid and reading fluency. However, quantitative findings reveal that the method’s impact is not always statistically significant across all indicators, such as represents a quality-based instructional system whose success is highly dependent on consistent implementation and teacher competence. To strengthen empirical validation of its effectiveness, future research should employ quasi-experimental, comparative, and longitudinal design, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to stregthen the findings, along with more standardized evaluation instruments.

Abstract

This study examines the threats faced by perpetrators of injustice from the perspective of the Qur’an, focusing on an analysis of Qur’anic Surah Al-Burūj, verse 10, through the interpretation of Muhammad Quraish Shihab. Injustice is one of the fundamental issues in the teachings of the Qur’an because it has far-reaching implications for human moral, social, and spiritual life. This study aims to examine the meaning of injustice, the forms of divine threats against perpetrators of injustice, and the moral message contained in the verse. The research method employed is library research using a qualitative approach and thematic analysis (tafsir maudhū‘ī). The primary sources of this study are the Qur’an and Muhammad Quraish Shihab’s Tafsir al-Mishbah, which were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that oppression in Surah Al-Buruj, verse 10, does not only refer to acts of physical oppression against the faithful but also encompasses various forms of injustice that undermine human dignity and violate the principles of divine justice. The threat of the torment of Hell and the burning torment in this verse affirms the certainty of Allah’s retribution against the perpetrators of oppression. From Quraish Shihab’s perspective, oppression is understood as the act of placing something where it does not belong, which leads to the corruption of moral, social, and spiritual order. Therefore, this verse serves as both a theological warning and moral instruction for humanity to avoid oppression. Abstract

Perspective of Islamic management, Qur’anic values serve as the fundamental basis for building ethical, effective, and sustainable organizational governance. This study aims to formulate a new paradigm of Islamic-based coordination management by positioning Qur’anic valuesparticularly justice, trustworthiness, accountability, consultation (shura), transparency, collaboration as both epistemological and operational frameworks in modern organizational management. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research design, in which primary data are derived from the Qur’an and hadith, while secondary data are obtained from academic literature, journals, and previous studies. Data were collected through document review and systematic literature tracing, and analyzed using Qur’anic hermeneutics and content analysis through the stages of reduction, display, and conceptual synthesis. The findings reveal that integrating Qur’anic values generates a new paradigm of Islamic coordination management that is more comprehensive than conventional approaches. Justice is effective in distributing authority fairly and reducing internal conflict, trustworthiness and accountability strengthen moral legitimacy and public trust, while consultation functions as both a participatory decision-making mechanism and a tool for conflict resolution. These results highlight that challenges such as limited human resources, technological gaps, and conflict management issues can be addressed through an Islamic coordination management model. The study concludes that Qur’anic values are not merely supportive variables but constitute an epistemological foundation for organizational governance, with theoretical implications enriching Islamic management literature and practical implications offering strategic guidance for organizations to become more adaptive, sustainable, and competitive.

Abstract

Mothers with young children are vulnerable to parenting stress due to the many demands and responsibilities they face, which extend beyond household tasks to childcare. Early childhood is often considered a challenging developmental stage because children are highly dependent on their parents while also seeking independence and exploring their environment. This condition can make children difficult to manage and prone to tantrums, which may increase emotional strain and stress in mothers. If parenting stress is not properly managed, it can negatively affect the well-being of the mother, the child, and the overall family environment. Islamic religiosity is often associated with coping mechanisms for stress because religious beliefs and practices can provide emotional support, guidance, and psychological comfort when individuals face difficult situations. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between Islamic religiosity and parenting stress among mothers with young children and to analyze the contribution of Islamic religiosity to parenting stress. This research used a quantitative method with convenience sampling involving 125 Muslim mothers who have children aged 2–6 years. The instruments used were the Muslim Religiosity Scale developed by Amir (2021) and the Parental Stress Scale developed by Berry and Jones (1995). Regression analysis showed a negative coefficient of -1.048 with an R-square value of 0.163, indicating that Islamic religiosity explains 16.3% of parenting stress.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of parental responsibility towards children after divorce, the legal basis for child protection, and the impact of divorce on child welfare. The research method used is a normative juridical approach with a literature study technique through the assessment of laws and regulations, the Compilation of Islamic Law, court decisions, as well as relevant literature and previous research results. The results of the research show that the obligations of parents after divorce include the fulfillment of financial support, custody (hadhanah), education, and the physical and psychological protection of children. However, in practice, the implementation of these obligations still faces various obstacles, such as low legal awareness among parents, prolonged conflicts, and weak enforcement of court decisions. The suboptimal implementation of parental responsibilities has an impact on the psychological, social, educational, and economic conditions of children. This study concludes that the welfare of children after divorce is more determined by the consistency of the implementation of parental responsibilities than by the marital status of the parents. Therefore, synergy between parents, judicial institutions, the state, and society is needed to ensure the protection and fulfillment of children's rights after divorce.

Abstract

This study stems from observations of the development of hadith competitions, particularly in the city of Medan. The study aims to explore the role of the Medan City LPTQ in the development of Hadith Competitions at the STQH event held in North Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study type. Data was obtained based on a review of literature and websites relevant to the topic of study. The results of the discussion show that the LPTQ hadith plays a significant role in enhancing the development of hadith competitions, as demonstrated by the increasing interest of participants in the hadith category from year to year. In addition, this can be seen through the achievements of the Medan City LPTQ as one of the largest contributors of participants to the STQH event at the national level

Abstract

This study aims to examine the process of attaining ikhlas (sincere acceptance) among housewives who experience rejection from their husband’s family and its influence on their emotional condition and mental health. Rejection within family relationships can create psychological distress, including feelings of sadness, disappointment, being unappreciated, and social exclusion, which may affect self-perception, marital relationships, and overall well-being. This research used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to understand participants’ lived experiences in depth. Participants were selected through purposive sampling and consisted of housewives who had experienced rejection from their husband’s family. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings show that attaining ikhlas occurs gradually through several stages, including experiencing rejection, the emergence of negative emotions, efforts to find meaning in these experiences, and strengthening spiritual practices such as prayer (du’a), remembrance (dhikr), and trust in Allah (tawakkul). Ikhlas is understood as an active process of accepting reality, managing emotions more adaptively, and releasing expectations of acceptance. Participants who approached ikhlas reported greater inner calm and emotional stability, although not all were able to achieve full acceptance due to lingering emotional wounds and ongoing family conflict.
