Abstract

Gen Z employees are required to have innovative work behavior in order to increase the company's competitiveness. An organizational policies that plays a role in increasing innovative work behavior and is in accordance with the characteristics of Gen Z is flexible work arrangements. In this study, researchers want to see the relationship between flexible work arrangements and innovative work behavior in Gen Z employees who worked flexibly (WFA and hybrid). Researchers also wanted to see differences in innovative work behavior between Gen Z employees who worked flexibly and those who worked from office. Participants are 217 people aged 18-28 years old, currently working on a WFO/WFA/hybrid basis, and domiciled in Indonesia. Innovative work behavior variables are measured using the Innovative Behavior Scale and flexible work setting variables are measured using the Flexible Work Options Questionnaire (FWOQ). The results of the bootstrap analysis (N = 1000) show that flexible work arrangements can positively and significantly predict innovative work behavior (???? = 0.23, p = 0.02). Flexible work arrangements can explain 5.7% of the variance in innovative work behavior. The results of the analysis also show differences in innovative work behavior between Gen Z employees who work flexibly (M = 38.58, SD = 7.84) and Gen Z employees who work from offices (M = 33.85, SD = 9.60), statistically significant, t(215) = 3.88, p = 0.00. This research suggests companies to start implementing more flexible working arrangements so that employees feel comfortable and motivated to come up with innovative ideas.

Abstract

This study evaluated the role of sleep quality as mediator between sleep hygiene and psychosocial outcomes, consisting of insomnia, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. Participants of this study included 225 individuals with an average age of 30.22 (SD 8.92), majority were female (75.11%), and residing in metropolitan areas. Measures included SHI, PSQI, ISI, and HSCL-25. Causal mediation analysis using PROCESS Macro Model 4 with 5,000 bootstrapping iterations was employed to analyze the data. The analysis revealed significant relationships and partial mediating effects after controlling for covariates such as age, gender, and weight. Sleep hygiene significantly predicted sleep quality, with sleep quality mediating the relationship between sleep hygiene and psychosocial outcomes. Direct associations were also observed between sleep hygiene and symptoms of insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Therefore, better sleep hygiene was associated with better sleep quality, in the same manner as better sleep quality was associated with less insomnia, anxiety, and depression.

Abstract

This study explores the predictive relationship between santri (students in Islamic boarding schools, pesantren) engagement and their attachment to caregivers. Drawing upon a sample of 99 santris (65 males and 34 females) from a boarding school for students aged 10 to 20 years (M = 15.75, SD = 2.16), this research employs convenience sampling and sophisticated questionnaire analysis. Applying the graded response model (GRM) for calibration, the study precisely estimated the santris' scale scores of engagement and attachment, which were subsequently analyzed through regression to examine the predictive capacity of attachment to caregiver on student engagement. Results indicated a significant relationship (b = 0.43, p < 0.01), emphasizing the importance of attachment to caregivers in predicting santri engagement within the pesantren context. The application of GRM enhanced the precision of scaling attachment and engagement. It bolstered the regression analysis's validity, confirming the hypothesis that caregiver attachment can reliably predict student engagement in boarding school settings.

Abstract

Stress is a common issue faced by the Indonesian population, and laughter therapy is believed to be an effective intervention. However, findings from previous research have yielded inconsistent results regarding the effectiveness of laughter therapy. This study evaluates the effectiveness of laughter therapy as an intervention to reduce stress in the Indonesian population through Hedge's G meta-analysis, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The analysis involved 347 participants from 9 previous studies. The results indicate that laughter therapy has a significant effect in reducing stress levels in individuals. Laughter therapy with 15 steps proved to be the most effective model. The implications of these findings are significant in understanding the role of laughter therapy as a potential strategy in addressing stress in the community. This study provides substantial empirical evidence for mental health practitioners and researchers to incorporate laughter therapy, particularly with proven effective approaches, as an integral part of comprehensive mental health efforts in Indonesia.

Abstract

Cyberbullying is a deliberate, aggressive behavior perpetrated by individuals or groups through electronic contact against vulnerable victims. This study aims to analyze the effect of parental psychological control and adolescent self-control on cyberbullying behavior among adolescents. Employing explanatory research design with quantitative methods, the study utilized voluntary sampling to recruit adolescents aged 15-18 years who actively use social media and still reside with both parents in Bogor Regency. Data analysis included descriptive analysis, correlation testing, and multiple linear regression. The findings revealed a negative correlation between parental psychological control and adolescent self-control and a positive correlation between paternal and maternal psychological control. Additionally, the regression test indicated that parental psychological control, particularly in the form of personal attacks, significantly cyberbullying behavior. Furthermore, adolescents with low self-control demonstrated a higher likelihood of engaging in cyberbullying behavior.

Abstract

In the digital era, students increasingly rely on technology for academic purposes, yet they also face significant challenges such as cyberslacking—using the internet for non-academic activities during study time. This study investigates the role of emotion regulation in moderating the relationship between academic stress and cyberslacking among university students. A quantitative research design with a correlational approach was employed, involving 100 participants who completed online surveys assessing academic stress, emotion regulation, and cyberslacking behaviors. The Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), Perception of Academic Stress Scale (PASS), and Cyberslacking Scale were utilized to gather data. Descriptive statistics, assumption testing, and moderation analysis were conducted using Jamovi software. The research findings indicate a significant positive relationship between academic stress and cyberslacking (Estimate = 0.69, p<0.01). Additionally, no relationship was found between emotion regulation and cyberslacking (p>0.05). Furthermore, the interaction between academic stress and emotion regulation on cyberslacking was also not significant (p>0.05). Specifically, students with lower emotion regulation exhibited a stronger association between academic stress and cyberslacking, while those with higher emotion regulation showed a reduced impact. These findings highlight the importance of effective emotion regulation in mitigating the negative effects of academic stress on cyberslacking.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the model of positive constructs, hope and negative constructs, loneliness, in predicting depression tendencies among university students. Depression tendencies are a frequently encountered phenomenon. University students are in a transitional phase between adolescence and adulthood, a stage that can be quite confusing as they begin striving for independence yet are not fully independent. Academic demands, low social skills, and living apart from parents often lead to feelings of loneliness. Meanwhile, the presence of hope in individuals makes them more resilient in facing difficulties and striving to achieve goals, thus acting as a protective factor against depression. The study's participants consisted of 410 active undergraduate students from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. Statistical analysis using multiple regression showed that the model aligns with the assumptions, where loneliness predicts the presence of depression, and hope significantly serves as a protective factor against the emergence of depression (R²=0.456; F(6,409) = 58.183; p<.05).
