Abstract

The study aims to examine mental health issues in Indonesia in several aspects including individuals’ awareness of mental health, individuals’ experience when accessing mental health information, services, and treatment as well as maintenance behavior after receiving treatment. This study is conducted using the cross-sectional method with a quantitative approach. The survey was distributed via social media platforms, and was completed by a total of 406 participants, ranging from 18-25. Data were then analyzed using the descriptive analysis technique.  Findings of the study include: 1) individuals’ awareness of the issue surrounding mental health was relatively high, 2) accessibility of mental health information was good although, may be further improved, 3) stigma surrounding mental disorders, financial hardships, and poor access to mental health professionals/therapists, are the deterring factors for receiving treatments, 4) there are many strategies to improve treatment satisfaction, such as community-based interventions, bettering the quality of digital mental health platforms, as well as the quality and quantity of mental health professionals across Indonesia. Overall, despite high individual awareness of mental health and accessibility to mental health information, there were many gaps identified within the mental health care in Indonesia that can massively benefit from interventional programs.

The moderator variable of a continent variable where the study was conducted included, the effect size correlation yielded 0.3957 (95% CI -0.178 – 0.207). The continent represents the cultural diversity across the 17 studies conducted in various countries. The analysis involved the type of measuring instrument short/long-form found effect size correlation 0.4704 (95% CI -0.070 – 0.023). The Moderator variables did not affect the relationship between the two variables. This study has no publication bias with an Egger's Regression value of 0.902. The Moderator variables did not affect the relationship between the two variables. This study has no publication bias with an Egger's Regression value of 0.902. The significant implications in this meta-analysis emphasize the importance of replicating research on the direct relationship between career adaptability and career satisfaction. Replicating the study is crucial to enhance the external validity of the relationships between both variables.

Abstract

Some final year students often have difficulty completing their studies, which ultimately results in feelings of dissatisfaction and unhappiness. This shows that psychological well-being has not been achieved. This research aims to test whether optimism, gratitude, hope have a simultaneous role in the psychological well-being of final year students. This research used a quantitative approach involving 216 students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta who were working on their thesis and aged between 21-23 years. This research used an optimism scale (α = 0.813), a gratitude scale (α = 0.788), a hope scale (α = 0.850), a psychological well-being scale (α = 0.894) which were distributed via Google form. The analysis in this study used multiple linear regression using SPSS statistics 21.0. The results show that the role of optimism, gratitude and hope together on the psychological well-being of final year students is 73%. Hope has the largest contribution, namely 46.1%, followed by optimism, namely 22%. Thus, to improve the psychological well-being of final year students, universities need to carry out activities that increase hope and optimism in final year students.

Abstract

Nurses are health workers who are always there in every hospital and are a benchmark for hospital health services, so this is a major concern that management should not ignore because it will have an impact on the organization. The purpose of this study was to explore relationship between meaning of work and organizational commitment in nurses mediated by job satisfaction. Respondents in this study were 214 nurses with a minimum working period of one year in the hospital. Data collection methods in this study use a scale of (1) The Work and Meaning Inventory (WAMI), (2) Organization Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ), and (3) Job Satisfaction Scale from Scale for the Measurement of Some Work Attitudes and Aspects of Psychological Well-Being. The result showed that meaning of work positively correlated to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Moreover, job satisfaction positively effects organizational commitment. The results of data analysis using simple model 4 mediator analysis from PROCESS by Hayes (2012) show that job satisfaction plays a significant role as a partial mediation on the relationship between meaning of work and organizational commitment on nurses. This means that nurses have high job satisfaction don’t necessarily have high organizational commitment. Conversely, nurses who have low job satisfaction don’t necessarily have low organizational commitment. Therefore, the hospital needs to make a program to increase the meaning of the work that nurses have because it can have an impact on the organizational commitment of a nurse.

This research involved 229 harvesting employees in the palm oil industry who were hired using a purposive sampling technique. The scale used was the safety behaviour and psychological contract scale. The data was analyzed using simple linear regression analysis, showing that the research hypothesis was accepted. Psychological contracts have a significant influence on safety behaviour (R2 = 0.414; F (1, 228) = 160.476; p < 0.05) in palm oil industry employees. This shows the importance of psychological contracts in reducing the number of work accidents for plantation employees.

Abstract

The phenomenon that emotional violence is considered as "ordinary love disputes" so that it naturally occurs and is misinterpreted as a form of love is a cause for concern. Research has found that emotional abuse has the most damaging and painful effects because it directly attacks a person's core self-esteem, creating more lasting wounds than other forms of abuse. Early adult women are vulnerable to experiencing emotional abuse because they are in search of meaning and purpose in life through interpersonal relationships based on trust and are in a phase of forming romantic relationships. This research aims to understand more deeply about the description and dynamics of psychological well-being in early adulthood, especially in women who experience emotional abuse in dating relationships. The design used in this study is qualitative with an interpretive phenomenological approach. The criteria set by the researchers in this study were women who were in the early adulthood stage (18-40 years) who had experienced emotional abuse in dating relationships with a total of two participants involved in this study. The results of the analysis found that emotional abuse affects the level of psychological well-being of the two participants. The low level of psychological well-being that participants experience when experiencing emotional abuse makes it difficult to get out of the cycle of emotional abuse in the dating relationship. The uniqueness found by researchers is that the influence of distance or differences in domicile between participants and partners is a factor in helping participants to escape emotional abuse in the dating relationship.
