Literature suggested that the enforcement of lockdowns such as the Movement Control Order (MCO) had limited physical social interaction and therefore increased the inclination on social media and other means of digital communication. This shift of social pattern was reported to alter the way young adults develop their mattering, the sense of how much they matter to others. While mattering has been reported as the protective factors against social anxiety, this study aims to investigate the contribution of interpersonal mattering and societal mattering on social anxiety among university students who had to study online from home during the enforcement of the MCO in Malaysia amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2021. Purposive sampling was conducted to recruit 158 participants (89 females, 69 males) with their ages ranging from 18 to 25 years of age (M=21.77, SD=1.54) to respond to Mattering to Others Questionnaire, University Mattering Scale, and Social Phobia Inventory. The results of multiple linear regression supported the hypotheses that both types of mattering negatively predict social anxiety, and that interpersonal mattering was no longer a significant predictor when controlling for societal mattering.

This was a correlational study involving 335 students of state junior high schools who were selected using cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected by using scales of democratic parenting, school climate, internal locus of control, and academic optimism. Multiple regression technique was used to analyze the data on statistical product and service solutions (SPSS) 20. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between democratic parenting and academic optimism, school climate and academic optimism, internal locus of control and academic optimism. Besides, the result also showed that democratic parenting, school climate, internal locus of control simultaneously affected academic optimism among students. Furthermore, counseling and guidance teachers, homeroom teachers, and parents to work together to grow and improve students' academic optimism, so the students can actualize their character optimally and develop effectively.

Nowadays, information technology (IT) based educational applications (Moodle, Google Classroom, and Zoom) are available for both teachers and students. This study aimed to identify Iraqi English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers’ perception towards using Google Classroom at the university level. A qualitative research design (case study) was employed in this study. The researcher asked six Iraqi EFL teachers as volunteers to participate in this study. Those participants are working at different Iraqi universities. A semi-structured interview was used to get the data from those participants. Six phases of analysis were adopted to analyze the elicited data. The results revealed that Google Classroom is very important in EFL teaching and learning at tertiary level. This application has many advantages in teaching EFL students such as it enables students to find the lectures whenever they need them, encourages students to participate, speak, and comment freely and effectively without hesitations especially those who have some psychological problems like shyness. On the other hand, it has many disadvantages too such as it focuses on listening, writing, and watching skills and ignores the direct interaction between teachers and students, which could take place in the normal classes.

This study analyzed the teachers' and parents' synergy in motivating children to take online learning at home during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The research instrument consisted of 13 survey questions distributed via Google Form and succeeded in capturing 139 samples of parents of preschool and elementary school students spread across 17 provinces in Indonesia. Factor analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) were conducted to analyze the instrument's validity and test hypotheses. The factor analysis results showed that the 13 instruments used showed an excellent correlation to confirm each variable's structure. The SEM analysis results showed that in the online learning system applied to preschool and elementary school children, parents play a significant role in the children's motivation to take online learning at home. Parents were also a positive and significant mediator variable in the teacher's role in increasing children's learning motivation. These results indicated that parents' and teachers' motivating children to carry out online learning at home during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia must be established and continuously improved. The contribution was a reference for those who intend to develop an appropriate online learning system framework for preschool and elementary school children.

Most of the young generation do not realize the importance of decision making, money-saving, and budget planning. Consequently, a total of 47% of bankruptcies in Malaysia occurred among young adults between the ages of 18-35. Young individuals account for the majority of bankruptcies, public awareness of financial literacy should be raised. More effective teaching in secondary school has attracted researchers' attention. One of the general objectives of the Malaysian curriculum for the students is to practice moral values. Money-saving can be considered as one of the moral values. Still, school teachers have to cover many other academic topics, and they always feel overburdened with all types of examination-oriented textbooks. Students' value towards money and attitude influence their financial decision. Other factors needed in financial literacy are decision-making and accountability. This study aimed to examine factors that influence students' human values in financial literacy. This study had instilled human values to encourage students to practice time-saving, decision making, money-saving, and other values related to their well-being in the future. The survey was employed in this study. Then, a video that integrated financial literacy and human values with a Malaysian-based real-world learning experience was created in stage two. In addition, the questionnaire was administered to 327 secondary school students after they watched the video. The structural equation modeling method was used to determine the factors that influenced the financial literacy model. The findings from the analysis retained four elements: practices, decision making, accountability, and human values. Future research can focus on a comparative analysis with neighboring countries.

This study obtained expert consensus on the constructs of personal leadership competencies for Malaysia Matriculation College middle leaders using the approach of the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM). A list of instruments containing the proposed construct and all the elements was given to 30 experts from various fields and backgrounds. This study's finding indicates that most of the experts agree with the proposed constructs and elements of the personal leadership competencies. The threshold values for all the 14 elements tested met the requirements of d≤0.2. All the expert agreements achieved the targeted percentage, which is between 75% and 100%. The Alpha-cut value also met the requirement needed between 0.878 and 0.950, which is the threshold of 0.5 (α-cut≥0.5). Through FDM, the defuzzification process was carried out to rearrange all the elements based on the experts' ranking agreed. This study successfully presented a new construct by considering the crucial elements in middle leaders' competencies in the Malaysian context.

This study was undertaken to understand the overall impact of China's online education practices at all levels during the COVID-19 pandemic. A study of remote learning was an opportunity to better understand the long-term impact and adoption of structural and pedagogical practices in the post- pandemic period. The main research subjects were teachers and administrators in K-12 primary, vocational colleges and universities. The adult learning andragogy model was utilized as a framework for understanding the conditions under which students and faculty learned and taught in a remote learning environment. Statistical analysis of survey data indicated the research subjects had expectations for a change in teaching methods into the future. Future research is needed to carry out an in-depth analysis of how to build a model for online education. As a result of this study, it was determined that the continuous evaluation of online education would help in shaping best practice for teaching and learning in a remote environment within China’s educational system.
