Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work environment on the performance of procurement officials in Southwest Papua Province. The research employed a quantitative approach with associative research type. The population consisted of all 53 procurement officials in Southwest Papua Province, and the entire population was sampled using saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire. Data analysis techniques included multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that partially, job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on performance (coefficient 0.258; sig. 0.044). Organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect with a coefficient of 0.420 (the most dominant; sig. 0.000). Work environment had a positive but non-significant effect (coefficient 0.060; sig. 0.538). Simultaneously, all three variables had a significant effect on performance (F calculated 15.590; sig. 0.000). The R Square value of 0.488 means that the contribution of the three variables to performance is 48.8%, while the remaining 51.2% is influenced by other variables outside the model. In conclusion, organizational commitment is the most dominant factor in improving performance, followed by job satisfaction, while work environment has no significant effect. It is recommended that leadership prioritize strengthening employees' organizational commitment as the main strategy for improving performance, continue to enhance job satisfaction through improving compensation, supervision, and career opportunities, and gradually improve the work environment according to available budget.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Mall Paragon Sorong's image and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty, both partially and simultaneously. The background of this research is the intense competition in the retail industry in developing cities such as Sorong and the theoretical gap regarding the relationship between image, satisfaction, and loyalty in the context of modern shopping centers in Eastern Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research population consists of all visitors to Mall Paragon Sorong who have shopped at least twice. The sample was determined to be 100 respondents using the Hair et al. formula (number of indicators multiplied by 5-10). Data collection techniques used questionnaires with a 1-4 Likert scale. Data analysis included validity tests, reliability tests, multiple regression analysis, t-test (partial), F-test (simultaneous), and coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed that: (1) customer satisfaction has a significant influence on customer loyalty with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a regression coefficient of 0.476; (2) mall image does not have a significant influence on customer loyalty with a significance value of 0.503 (>0.05) and a regression coefficient of 0.044; (3) simultaneously, customer satisfaction and mall image have a significant influence on customer loyalty with an F-value of 20.167 and a significance of 0.000 (<0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.294 indicates that 29.4% of the variation in customer loyalty can be explained by customer satisfaction and mall image, while the remaining 70.6% is explained by other variables outside the study. The conclusion of this study is that customer satisfaction is the dominant factor influencing loyalty at Mall Paragon Sorong, while mall image has no direct influence. The recommendation for mall management is to prioritize improving visitor satisfaction through better service quality, facilities, and shopping experience.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of core profitability measured by Gross Profit Margin (GPM) and debt-service capacity measured by Interest Coverage Ratio (ICR) on Sustainable Financial Performance (SFP), proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), among manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. A quantitative causal approach with multiple linear regression (IBM SPSS) was applied to 30 observations from six companies (ASII, UNVR, INDF, KLBF, UNTR, SMGR) over 2020–2024 via purposive sampling. Findings indicate that GPM positively and significantly influences ROA, while ICR shows no significant partial effect. Jointly, GPM and ICR significantly explain ROA with an Adjusted R Square of 37.1%. Theoretically, this study reinforces the relevance of Resource-Based View Theory and Signaling Theory in explaining sustainable financial performance in the manufacturing sector. Practically, the findings guide management to prioritize GPM efficiency as a strategic focus, and assist investors in interpreting ICR as a credit-risk indicator rather than a direct profitability predictor.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work discipline on employee performance in a government agency. Work discipline is one of the important factors that can increase employee effectiveness and productivity in carrying it out. The research method used is a qualitative approach. Based on the results of the study, it shows that its implementation at the Inspectorate Office of Southwest Papua Province has not been running optimally, especially in aspects of attendance, work procedures, and long hours. The low level of employee attendance is caused by the absence of regulations that strictly regulate work discipline, as well as the lack of implementation of an effective monitoring system such as the use of technology-based attendance. Employee work procedures have also not run according to standards due to the lack of socialization of SOPs and a lack of employee understanding of applicable work procedures, so that the implementation of tasks is not directed. Improving employee performance at the Inspectorate Office of Southwest Papua Province requires comprehensive improvements, especially in aspects of leadership, regulations, HR competencies, and structured and integrated work systems

Abstract

This study aims to analyze utilitarian shopping motivation among supermarket consumers in Bandung City from a socio-economic perspective using James Coleman's Rational Choice Theory. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with supermarket consumers selected using snowball sampling. The findings reveal that utilitarian shopping motivation is reflected in two main dimensions: efficiency and achievement. In terms of efficiency, consumers utilize supermarkets and digital shopping applications to save time, effort, and product-search costs. Regarding achievement, consumers seek to fulfill their needs accurately, obtain more economical prices, and complete shopping tasks effectively. The results indicate that utilitarian shopping behavior represents a form of rational action based on cost-benefit calculations. The modern retail structure, characterized by promotional programs, product completeness, and digital services, influences consumer decision-making, while the accumulation of individual rational choices contributes to strengthening the dominance of supermarkets and the digital retail ecosystem in Bandung. Therefore, utilitarian shopping motivation reflects not only consumption behavior but also the dynamic relationship between actors, resources, and urban economic structures.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing household intentions to use green energy in Batam City. The increasing electricity consumption and the impacts of global warming highlight the urgent need for more environmentally friendly energy utilization. This research examines the effects of biospheric value, altruistic value, egoistic value, and environmental self-identity on green attitude as well as intention to use green power. The study employs a quantitative approach using questionnaires distributed to households in Batam City. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling PLS-SEM. The results indicate that egoistic value, altruistic value, biospheric value, and environmental self-identity have significant effects (p-values < 0.05) on both green attitude and intention to use green power. Egoistic value exerts the strongest influence on green attitude, while altruistic value has the strongest influence on intention to use green power. Overall, all variables in this study demonstrate significant effects, indicating that the proposed research model is robust and empirically supported. This study is expected to contribute to the development of research on sustainable energy consumption behavior and serve as a reference for governments and energy providers in promoting the adoption of green energy among the public.

Abstract

The high turnover rate among young employees has become a strategic challenge for many organizations. This study examines the effects of transformational leadership and perceived organizational support on employee retention among Generation Z and Millennial employees, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The study employed a post-positivist quantitative-causal paradigm, with data collected from 150 respondents across public sector (ASN), private, and state-owned enterprise (BUMN) sectors in Jabodetabek using a five-point Likert scale instrument, and analyzed through PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4). The findings reveal that: (1) transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction (β=0.551) and employee retention (β=0.396); (2) perceived organizational support positively affects job satisfaction (β=0.300) and employee retention (β=0.168); (3) job satisfaction positively affects employee retention (β=0.241); and (4) job satisfaction partially mediates the effects of transformational leadership (β=0.133; p=0.012) and perceived organizational support (β=0.072; p=0.041) on employee retention. These findings reinforce the integrative relevance of Social Exchange Theory, Self-Determination Theory, and Organizational Support Theory. Practically, organizations are recommended to strengthen transformational leadership competencies and design systematic organizational support programs as effective retention strategies for talented young employees.

Abstract

Passenger comfort is an important indicator of the successful management of land transportation terminals. However, based on initial observations and an evaluation by the Land Transportation Management Agency of Region XXIII Southwest Papua (2024), Type B terminals in this new province still face various problems, including poor cleanliness, limited physical facilities, low quality of service from officers, and failure to meet Minimum Service Standards. This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of service quality and facilities on passenger comfort at Type B Terminals in Southwest Papua Province. His study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research type. The population consisted of all passengers at Type B Terminals in Southwest Papua, with a sample of 65 respondents determined using the Hair et al. formula (number of indicators multiplied by 5–10). The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire using a 4-point Likert scale that had been tested for validity (r-critical 0.244) and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha > 0.60). Data analysis used multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that: (1) service quality has a positive and significant effect on passenger comfort with a regression coefficient of 0.111 and a significance value of 0.009; (2) facilities have a positive and significant effect on passenger comfort with a regression coefficient of 0.748 and a significance value of 0.000; (3) simultaneously, service quality and facilities have a positive and significant effect on passenger comfort with an F-value of 73.268 (significance 0.000) and a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.703, meaning that 70.3% of the variation in passenger comfort is explained by both variables. Therefore, the hypotheses stating that service quality and facilities affect passenger comfort are accepted. This study recommends that local governments and terminal managers prioritize the improvement of physical facilities while simultaneously developing officer competencies through continuous excellent service training.
