Abstract

This qualitative research, conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, aims to examine and explore how the sorogan method is implemented, what influences its implementation, and what impacts occur after implementing it. The results show that the Fajrussa’adah Islamic boarding school is one of the Salaf Islamic boarding schools that uses the yellow book and the sorogan method as a source and method in its learning. The implementation takes place three days a week and is held in the evening after the Isha prayer. Several supporting factors include strong student motivation and the presence of a teacher. Several inhibiting factors include students' fatigue after attending formal school outside the boarding school and many feeling sleepy because classes are held at night. Nevertheless, the implementation of sorogan has a significant impact on students in terms of reading and understanding the yellow book and has an impact on their daily lives, making them more mature in preparing things.

Abstract

This study of the concept of human dignity in the Qur'an focuses on Prof. Hamka's interpretation in the Tafsir Al-Azhar. With thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū‘ī) it reveals how the Qur'an interprets human dignity as a divine gift as well as a moral mandate that demands ethical and social responsibility, especially in; QS. Al-Isrā’ [17]:70, QS. Al-Baqarah [2]:30, QS. At-Tīn [95]:4–5, QS. An-Nisā’ [4]:1, and QS. Al-Ḥujurāt [49]:13. The study found four main pillars of human dignity, namely divine creation, the mandate of the caliphate, equal social relations, and spiritual responsibility. The Al-Azhar Tafsir demonstrates contextual and progressive hermeneutic courage, making the Qur'an a guide to life that rejects all forms of discrimination and dehumanization. By integrating classical and modern interpretations, this study confirms that Islam offers a paradigm of human dignity that is in line with universal values of justice and is relevant to responding to global humanitarian issues.

Abstract

This study aims to qualitatively analyze the innovation of Islamic propagation (dakwah) that the North Sumatra Yatim Mandiri Institution empowers orphans and the poor through sustainable strategic programs. Based on data from in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation, as well as triangulation, the Yatim Mandiri Islamic propagation program is developed through five main pillars, namely education, economy, health, Islamic propagation, and humanity.
