Abstract

As a social being, human freedom is something that cannot be measured. Every human being has freedom over himself, free to choose, act, and determine. Freedom in this social life of course has levels. Starting from the smallest environment, namely family, social, to the state. However, on the other hand, it can be said that there is no absolute absolute freedom. Basically every freedom has limitations. The meaning of this freedom actually cannot be separated from responsibility. It can be said that freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. This study aims to further analyze the freedom of expression, speech, and action seen from the scientific perspective of the philosophy of communication on the phenomena that occur in the digital era. In addition, this study wants to see whether the meaning of freedom on YouTube social media is still accompanied by the values of responsibility and norms in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tiktok is a social media that now has the potential to promote products ranging from goods, services, or information that can be delivered quickly. The context of communication teaches several important roles including about 'messages', how good message content will bring up a person's responsive attitude, so that messages in the realm of promotion on the Tiktok platform are to show content ideas in visual form. Problems or social phenomena regarding visual violence or cyberbullying are a form of shared unrest, so the Ministry of Information and Communication (KOMINFO) collaborates with Tiktok to promote a #CiptakanKebaikan campaign to provide understanding and create digital forms of conversation in the current era. This study uses a qualitative method where researchers see how this campaign is formed so as to form a Digital Literacy. The researcher uses the Critical Discourse Analysis approach as an accurate form to reflect on how the analysis is built in the campaign. The researcher analyzed the entire content regarding #CiptakanKebaikan to see how the implementation of this campaign could be utilized by Tiktok social media and the implications of that content for building Digital Literacy. The results of the research show that there are three content used in the #CiptakanKebaikan campaign including storytelling, sharing, and experience.

Abstract

This research is intended to show how black campaigns are a communication medium for political actors in the general elections that took place in Indonesia, especially 2019. One of the black campaigns that was born was with the emergence of “cebong” and “kampret” who provoked social media. In addition, the media that contribute to the spread of the black campaign are not far from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, to chat media such as WhatsApp. The method used in this research is a literature study. Later there are several ways that can be done to avoid black campaigns by taking repressive and preventive actions using law enforcement. In the discussion of this journal, it was found that media literacy is one of the supporting tools to help educate the public in political life. Media literacy can also be campaigned from an early age for the people to avoid hoaxes and disinformation that are increasingly rampant and increase political participation.

Abstract

The pandemic caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) caused difficulties experienced by various sectors of life. Indonesian government has taken a policy to limit the movement of people to suppress the spread of COVID-19, which has an impact on limiting daily activities. GoFood as a pioneer of online food delivery (OFD) services seeks to overcome the crisis of public trusts in the application of health protocols when using these services. The purpose of this study is to find out how GoFood's communication strategy can survive in the midst of a pandemic through innovation. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive case study research methods. The results showed that the communication strategy used was the J3K campaign. GoFood has also created innovations that support the campaign by creating Self Register feature for merchant partners applicants without meeting face-to-face, Hygiene Sticker feature for merchant partners who apply health protocol standards, ‘Posko Aman’ service for driver partners, Contactless Delivery feature, GoFood Pickup feature, and Ready to Cook feature. GoFood also utilise of its communication channels to spread messages that are consistent and correlated with each other. To improve service, the researcher suggests GoFood to make innovations that can monitor and evaluate the discipline of merchant partners in implementing health protocols.

Abstract

The rhetoric theory is a communication theory that has been used since Ancient Greek. Aristotle was the first theorist who considered rhetoric as an art & studied rhetorics in a serious manner. According to Aristotle, rhetoric is the discovery of the available means of persuasion in every way. Rhetoric is a proof or indication of whether a speaker is great at executing persuasive messages in every form such as speech, message, or text. One of the most important concepts in rhetoric is rhetorical proof by Aristoteles. There are two kinds of rhetorical proofs, artistic & non-artistic proof. These proofs according to Aristotle are divided into three forms, ethos or ethical proof is the speaker’s credibility, pathos or emotional proof is the speaker’s emotion that showed, & logos or logic proof is an argumentation or rationalization which made sense to the audience. A good speaker is someone who uses all three of the artistic rhetorical proofs when speaking. This study aimed to analyze the artistic rhetorical proofs in the speech of The Minister of Education & Culture of Indonesian Republic on The National Teacher’s Day 2019. This study also aimed to complete the previous study which only discussed the five canons of the rhetoric of this speech. The method used in this study was qualitative descriptive, by analyzed the artistic rhetorical proofs of the speech of Republic Indonesia’s Minister of & goodwill, pathos by showing admiration, indignation, friendliness, confidence and anger, and logos in both of its forms, enthymeme, and example.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui manifestasi komunikasi di era digital dengan harapan dapat menjawab bagaimana perkembangan politik digital dalam komunikasi politik di Indonesia. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode kualitatif dimana menggunakan beberapa pendekatan dalam pencarian data. Berawal dari studi pustaka melalui literatur-literatur yang ada sebelum terjun pada tahap observasi. Observasi dilakukan terhadap pola-pola komunikasi politik yang terjadi di dunia digital dan diakhir dengan konfirmasi kepada ahli dalam bentuk wawancara untuk menegaskan data yang sudah diperoleh. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Indonesia memilki indeks demokrasi yang terus menurun, namun dengan hadirnya teknologi digital saat ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai alternatif dalam penguatan sistem demokrasi yang di anut oleh Indonesia. Teknologi dapat dimanfaatkan dalam membuka ruang demokrasi yang lebih jujur dan adil seperti proses pemilihan umum (Pemilu) yang mulai dilakukan perubahan dengan beradaptasi terhadap perkembangan teknologi. Komisi pemilihan umum (KPU) sudah mulai menyusun regulasi serta pengembangan aplikasi agar proses Pemilu dengan pemanfaatan teknologi digital dapat segera diterapkan sehingga harapannya kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap hasil pemilu dapat lebih meningkat.

Abstract

Perkembangan informasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan kehadiran teknologi. Perkembangan teknologi untuk sekarang memberikan dampak yang sangat besar kepada ilmu komunikasi dan juga jalur komunikasi itu sendiri yang terjadi diantara individu. Dengan adanya perkembangan teknologi informasi, secara langsung atau tidak langsung telah memberikan perubahan perilaku pada diri seseorang. Proses komunikasi antar pribadi juga dipengaruhi banyak oleh adanya perkembangan teknologi informasi. Kehidupan nyata di tengah sosial masyarakat juga terkena dampak dari teknologi informasi, salah satunya dalam konteks kehidupan beragama. Teknologi informasi dalam implementasinya di kehidupan masyarakat berpengaruh banyak terhadap kelangsungan kegiatan manusia dalam menjalankan ibadah agamanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis perubahan perilaku dengan lahirnya perkembangan teknologi informasi dalam konteks kehidupan beragama. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil pembahasan dari penelitian ini ada beberapa fenomena yang mempunyai perubahan perilaku dalam konteks beragama. Fenomena dakwah yang selama ini dkenal dengan komunikasi tatap muka dapat dilakukan secara digital yakni menggunakan fasilitas internet sehingga orang dapat menyaksikannya di media sosial dan tidak secara tatap muka. Metode pembelajaran pendidikan agama juga sudah mempunyai perubahan, seperti proses belajar e-learning yang dapat dilakukan ke anak-anak dengan menggunakan compact disc (CD) atau aplikasi digital lainnya sehingga proses belajar dapat diulang-ulang sampai bisa dan tentu tidak menggunakan metode belajar konservatif dimana guru dan murid bertatap muka secara langsung. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perubahan perilaku dalam kehidupan beragama telah menggeser beberapa aspek yang selama ini telah dilakukan dikarenakan adanya perkembangan teknologi informasi.

Abstract

Online dating has changed the way people find dates from face-to-face to online meetings. Through internet media, the activity of exchanging personal information is a process of developing a relationship, before deciding to meet in person. One of the stages in the development of the relationship is self-disclosure (self-disclosure). Interpersonal relationships that continue to develop and build meaningful relationships can be done by studying the theory of social penetration. Altman and Taylor explain that social penetration is a pattern of developing a relationship. This study discusses the process of online dating users to build meaningful relationship patterns and develop into the self-disclosure side.

Abstract

There are concerns that make attention in reclamation construction in the South China Sea. Apart from that, the divisions in the field of trade, competition in the context of geopolitics and technology that occurred in the two countries, the United States (US) and China, were considered to be the triggers for the arrival of a new Cold War. The background to the conflict between the two is a form of open and strategic competition carried out in order to obtain the label of the best country in the 21st century. US-China relations were originally in the form of a cooperative framework which then shifted into a strategic and open battle. China considers that the US prioritizes resilience over all the advantages it already has, but now it has begun to decline. Meanwhile, the US considers that China is increasingly terrorizing security, making noise over the prosperity of its citizens, hindering people's values and the value of egoism. From the point of view of the Indonesian state, the crisis in US-China relations needs to be managed through the concept of dynamic equilibrium in order to safeguard its national interests. The research uses a descriptive exploratory type of research method (Mas'oed, 1994:68), which will examine the impact of competition between the US and China on Indonesia's diplomacy strategy. This paper analyzes the increasing US-China competition and its impact on Indonesia's diplomatic strategy. The US-China tensions were caused by a struggle between the two over the goal of becoming the number one strongest figure in the world. The US, which has long been known as a super power country, feels its position is being threatened by the new emerging power China. Countries in the ASEAN region, including Indonesia, as a middle power country, should improve their diplomatic strategies and consider their position. The countries in the region are trying to balance and "play" under the affairs of a number of great power countries.

Abstract

The number of positive cases is increasing every day. This shows that the government's communication policy must be a serious concern for handling the Covid-19 pandemic. The chairman of the Covid-19 task force in Indonesia by the Covid-19 handling decision regulation Number 9 of 2021 requires that the Indonesian people must self-isolate if they are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms at home or the shelter provided by the Covid-19 task force unit. local. The role of the Covid-19 task force is very much needed by the community to access needs when they are suspected patients and to provide information to the public. This study reveals the communication narrative used by the Covid-19 task force to patients and survivors in the UPNVY environment. The health communication narrative from the UPNVY Covid-19 task force unit is needed by the UPN Veteran Yogyakarta academic community. This research uses narrative theory with a data collection method using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by interviewing the chairman and deputy chairman of the Covid-19 task force, patients, and survivors who were willing to provide information related to this research. The results of this study indicate that the Covid-19 task force unit communicates or narrates the handling of Covid-19 and convalescent plasma donors with communication strategies that are by needs. The communication narrative carried out by the task force is that the narrative is used as a message maker to convey information on the handling of Covid-19 and information to donate convalescent plasma to survivors.
