Abstract

Integrated Healthcare Center (IHC) is basic health activities, mostly for toddler, organized by, from and for the community. The numbers of IHC who run their activity since 2019 are 283,370 but only 173,750 (61.32%) which do the services regularly every month. The problem is, there are only 38,68% parents that bring their children to visit IHC to maintains their health. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors related to parents, especially the mother, bringing their children to visit IHC in Tanjung Batang Kapas Village which is part of Pancung Soal Health Center area, in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatera, Indonesia.  This is analytic research with cross sectional design, this research was carried out in January - July 2022. The population of this study was mothers who has baby under five, it is amounted in 114 people. Proportional random sampling technique was used to collect 89 samples. The data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Chi Square test. The results of this study found that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p-value=0.044), attitude (p-value=0.000), education (p-value = 0.000), family support (p-value=0.015), motivation (p-value=0.000), the role of IHC cadres (p-value=0.000) with Toddler IHC Visits. In contrast, health workers roles (p-value=0.167) and parent occupation (p-value=0.326) did not have a connection of toddlers coming to IHC in Tanjung Batang Kapas Village in 2022.  It is expected that health workers will be more active in carring toddler to IHC by doing something interesting while weighing toddlers, doing immunization, and improving nutrition status  based on government programs, and cadres home visits to be encouraged by the head of  public health center by giving more information about the benefits of IHC so that the families can support mothers to came posyabdu once a month. Keywords:  IHC,  Public Health Centre, Toddler, Visit

Abstract

Indonesia is currently facing a double burden of disease, namely communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases, where behavior is one of the causes of changes in the pattern of these diseases. One of the non-communicable diseases which is the main cause of premature death in the world, namely hypertension is a silent killer with the highest prevalence rate in Indonesia. Untreated hypertension can cause complications. The elderly population is the most vulnerable population suffering from hypertension. One of the areas in North Sumatra with an ever-increasing number of cases of hypertension is Padangsidimpuan City. This study aims to analyze factors related to hypertension control behavior in the pre-elderly group in Padangsidimpuan City. This type of research is quantitative analytic with cross sectional design. The total population in this study was 3104 with a total sample of 237 obtained using cluster sampling and proportional random sampling. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed by univariate, bivariate, and multivariate using multiple logistic regression tests. The results showed that there was a relationship between intention (p=0.002), knowledge (p=<0.001), attitude (p=<0.001), affordability of information (p=<0.001), availability of facilities and infrastructure (p=0.020), and support social status (p=0.002) with hypertension control behavior. Multivariate analysis shows that the attitude variable is the variable most related to the behavior of the elderly in controlling hypertension with a Prevalence Ratio (RP) value of 4.869. The pre-elderly group is expected to be more active in adopting a healthy lifestyle, and an active role from the family and health workers is needed in providing support to hypertension sufferers to implement hypertension control behavior and avoid complications. Keywords:  Behavior, Hypertension Control, Pre-Elderly

Abstract

The mandatory requirements that schools must fulfill are strict implementation of health protocols, for example having adequate hand washing facilities equipped with running water and soap. However, data shows that there are still many elementary schools in Indonesia that do not have sanitation facilities that meet standards. This research aims to provide an overview of the environmental sanitation conditions of elementary schools in Surakarta City during the Covid 19 transition period. This research uses a descriptive observational method. The research was conducted in 10 elementary schools in the Surakarta City area. The research was conducted from February to March 2023. The sampling technique was random sampling. The sample in this study was 10 elementary schools. The data collection technique is by observation by filling in an observation sheet. The data analysis used is descriptive univariate analysis. The research results show that 80% of elementary schools provide hand washing facilities and soap and are equipped with a good drainage system. The cleanliness and condition of water closets in most schools meets the requirements. However, there are several elementary schools where the ratio of the number of toilets and students does not meet the requirements. There are 80% of schools where clean water sources are located and 70% of schools where the distance between water reservoirs and water closets to the canteen meets the requirements. 70% of schools have a distance between the bathroom or cafeteria and the school canteen < 10 meters. It was concluded that 10 elementary schools in the city of Surakarta were categorized as healthy schools or had good sanitation hygiene. However, there are several sanitation facilities whose existence needs to be optimized so that the level of health can increase. It is recommended for schools to ensure that school areas, including classrooms, toilets and school grounds, are cleaned regularly to prevent the accumulation of rubbish and dirt and it is recommended to provide regular education to students about the cleanliness of the school environment and provide adequate hand washing facilities. Keywords: COVID-19,  environmental health inspection, elementary school, hygiene sanitation, transition period
