Abstract

Adversity quotient affects the ability in learning and also student learning achievement, in addition, the adversity quotient affects how a person overcomes the ability to problems. Because of this problem, it takes a high adversity quotient to be able to survive in all conditions. The purpose of this study was to describe the adversity quotient of MAN 1 Padang students and test the difference in the adversity quotient of male and female students. This study uses a comparative quantitative approach. The sample in the study was 130 students, of which 55 were male and 65 were female students. With sampling techniques that are simple random sampling. The measurement used is "Scale Adversity Quotient Profile Modification" with reliable of 0.85. The results explained that the quotient of MAN 1 Padang students is in the campers category. It was later discovered that female students were taller than men. Thus it can be concluded that the culture attached to students greatly affects a person's adversity quotient. The adversity quotient of female students is higher than the male field because students adhere to a matrilineal culture.

Abstract

Brawls are behaviors that deviate from various norms. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of brawls with several aspects: (1) cognition, (2) affection, and (3) conation. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The population in the study were students of class X, XI, and XII at SMK Kartika I-1 Padang, totaling 172 students and the sample in this study amounted to 172 students. The sample was drawn using a saturated sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire with a Likert scale model. Data was processed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The research findings show that: students' perceptions of brawls seen from aspects of (1) cognition are in the good category, (2) affection is in the good category, (3) conation is in the good category. This means that students perceive that brawls are not good, can harm themselves and others, and are negative.

Abstract

Setiap profesi tentunya melekat pada setiap individu yang bekerja atau berkarier. Setiap individu yang bekerja berdasarkan aspek-aspek organisasi yang berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Individu yang memiliki profesi atau karier tntunya memiliki Komitmen karier. Komitmen karier sangat penting dikaji terutama dalam lingkup Pendidikan. Dalam dunia pendidikan komitmen karier melekat pada setiap individu yang mencakup; identitas karier, Perencanaan karier dan resiliensi/ketahanan karier. Status kepegawaian seorang guru di Indonesia dibedakan menjadi bebrapa statsu yakni; guru PNS, Guru swasta atau Yayasan dan Guru Honorer. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan komitmen karier ditinjau dari status kepegawaian. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrument atau alat ukur Carrier Commitment Measures (CCM) yang sudah dialihkan ke Bahasa Indonesia yang terdiri dari 12 aitem. Dari hasil analisis menggunakan One Way Anava di temukan bahwa hasil signifikan dengan koefisien F, 4,636 dengan taraf signifikansi p=0,016. Dari hasil uji statistik tersebut di temukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan komitmen karier profesi gruru ditinjau dari stsus kepegawaian.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is the ability needed by junior high school students to answer the task of seeking identity development. It may be influenced by the social environment. This study aimed to examine the relationship between parental social support and emotional intelligence in students of SMP Negeri 1 Baturetno. From a total of 235 population, 170 students were obtained as participants using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection used the Parental Social Support Scale (12 items, α = 0.893) and the Emotional Intelligence Scale (11 items, α = 0.860). The results show that both parents' social support and emotional intelligence are in the high category. The analysis implies that there is a significant positive relationship between social support and emotional intelligence. The higher the social support, the higher the emotional intelligence. The correlation coefficient is categorized as moderate (r= 0.474) with a significance of 0.000 (p <0.05). Social support contributes to emotional intelligence by 22.5%. The research has implications for the urgency of a family as a social environment in adolescent development, including in the socio-emotional realm.

Abstract

Peer conformity is one of the causes of problems that many students do at school. This study aims to describe peer conformity and differences in peer conformity in terms of gender. This research uses a quantitative method with a comparative descriptive research type. The population in this study were 631 students in grades X, XI, and XII SMA Adabiah Padang for the academic year 2022/2023 and a sample of 259 students was drawn using proportional random sampling. Collecting data in this study using a peer conformity questionnaire. Data were processed using descriptive analysis and t-test with the help of SPSS version 20. The results showed that peer conformity behavior at Adabiah Padang High School was in the "medium" category. There is a significant difference between students' peer conformity in terms of gender. Percentage of conformity among male students (57.9%) and female students (64.6%) with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. The results of this study have implications for Guidance and Counseling service activities.

Abstract

This study explores the importance of religion-based group counseling for individuals in different age groups in Indonesia as they progress through various stages of religious development. Religion significantly influences social and cultural diversity, and religious practices are integral to Indonesia's cultural heritage. Religion-based counseling prioritizes individuals with a religious background, utilizing their faith's values, norms, and teachings as a foundational framework. With the majority of Indonesians being Muslims, the Islamic counseling approach holds a strategic position. Religion-based group counseling serves as a viable solution to support individuals of all ages in their religious growth. Conducted as a literature review, this research collects and analyzes data from diverse sources to elucidate the significance of religion-based group counseling. The study contributes to a deeper understanding and practical application of religion-based group counseling in Indonesia, raising awareness of its necessity and benefits in facilitating optimal religious development across different stages of life.

Abstract

The background of this research is that many young married couples experience divorce due to a lack of readiness to marry. This lack of readiness creates conflict between husband and wife due to poor self-concept. This study aims to describe: (1) the self-concept of Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Padang (FIP UNP) students in the class of 2019. (2) readiness to marry FIP UNP students in the class of 2019. (3) Find a correlation between self-concept and readiness to marry FIP UNP students in the class of 2019. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The research subjects were 91 non-counseling FIP UNP students. The instrument used was a scaled questionnaire, which was analyzed using a percentage scale technique. The correlation between the two variables was analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation technique. The results showed that (1) students' self-concept was in the high category with an average achievement score of 72%; (2) students' readiness to marry was in the very high category with an average achievement score of 74%; and (3) there was a positive relationship with a significant difference between self-concept and students' readiness to marry with a correlation of 0.756 using a significant level of 0.01. So, if the student's self-concept is positive, then the student's readiness to marry will also have a positive impact, and vice versa, if the student's self-concept is negative, it will also reduce the student's readiness to marry.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan oleh adanya siswa yang lalai akan tugas-tugas sekolah, jenuh akan tugas, tidak dapat memprioitaskan yang harus diselesaikan telebih dahulu. Hal ini dapat dipicu oleh kelemahan siswa dalam memanajemen waktu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan manajemen waktu siswa, (2) mendeskripsikan prokrastinasi akademik siswa, dan (3) menguji tingkat signifikansi hubungan antara manajemen waktu dengan prokrastinasi akademik siswa. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif korelasional, populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI dan XII SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang dengan sampel 223 orang siswa, instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa (1) kemampuan manajemen waktu siswa berada pada kategori tinggi, (2) tingkat prokrastinasi siswa berada pada kategori rendah, dan (3) terdapat hubungan negatif dan signifikan antara manajemen waktu dengan prokrastinasi akademik siswa dengan nilai korelasi -0,510 pada tingkat hubungan yang sedang. Berdasarkan hasil data penelitian yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang negatif signifikan antara manajemen waktu dengan prokrastinasi akademik, dimana semakin baik manajemen waktu maka semakin rendah prokrastinasi akademik siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-management and academic procrastination among students at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Sindur. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational model and data analysis techniques with Pearson product moment correlation. Sampling uses a sampling technique, namely probability sampling with proportionate random sampling. Data collection took the form of a self-management questionnaire and an academic procrastination questionnaire. The results of the study show that there is a positive, significant, and quite strong relationship between self-management and academic procrastination, as seen from the Pearson correlation of 0.557 and the sig value of 0.000. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The results of the study in terms of the aspects of the self-management variable found that the indicators of student behavior were in the low category, while the academic procrastination variable on the aspect of the time gap between plans and actual performance was in the high category.

Abstract

Using Holland's theory, or Personality Type Theory, this research examines how counseling services play an important role in helping students overcome problems and make career decisions. This research uses literature research methods and collects information from various sources, such as academic journals, books, and document. Guidance counseling practitioners must understand Holland's theory and apply it in everyday life. This research can also serve as a basis for creating better guidance and counseling programs that help students choose careers.
