Abstract

Background: In 2022, SSGI data shows that Indonesia was 21.6% stunting, West Kalimantan 27.8%, and Bengkayang Regency 30.1%. This data shows that stunting is higher in Bengkayang Regency than in Indonesia and West Kalimantan. Intake of food is the direct cause of stunting. At 1000 HPK, intake has a significant impact on promoting growth and development in infants and toddlers. One way to reduce stunting rates is to increase knowledge about infant and child feeding (also known as PMBA). The purpose of this research is to determine the level of knowledge of mothers of toddlers in Tumiang Village, Bengkayang Regency's Quality Family Village (Kampung KB). Method: The study was conducted quasy-experimentally with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The study's participants were 30 mothers with toddlers aged 6 to 59 months living in the Quality Family Village in Tumiang Village, Bengkayang Regency. Intervention carried out PMBA education four times in a month. Pre- and post-test questionnaires were used. The data were analysed using T-Paired. Results: The mother's knowledge level score before and after PMBA training ranged from 4.83 to 7.10. This indicates that the mother's knowledge score increased by 2.27 before and after PMBA training. The T-Paired test results in a 0.000 p-value < 0.05. Conclusion: Increasing mother's feeding knowledge before and after PMBA training can accelerate stunting reduction in Quality Family Village, Tumiang Village, Bengkayang Regency. Advice: PMBA training for toddler mothers can prevent stunting. Keywords: Knowledge of Mothers, PMBA Education, Quality Family Village, Stunting, Tumiang Village

Abstract

Background : Stunting is a world problem because stunting is a growth and development disorder in infants (0 - 11 months) and toddlers (12 - 59 months) as a result of chronic malnutrition, especially in the first thousand days of life (HPK) so that children are too short for their age. Stunting can even disrupt intelligence levels, make you more susceptible to disease, risk future declines in productivity levels, and hamper economic growth, thereby increasing poverty. Stunting cannot be treated. So the problem of stunting can be overcome, of course, through promotional and preventive means. One of the promotional efforts is the promotion of stunted children's teeth. Since stunting affects children and toddlers, the target of outreach is parents. Method : The research materials are books, articles, and other documents related to digital applications to support the health promotion of children with stunting. Searches for supporting health promotion were carried out using a manual search engine. All digital applications obtained are sorted according to research needs. Using a reference manager, namely the Mendeley application and Publish or Perish. Results: There are 10 digital applications to support the promotion of dental health in stunted children, namely: 1. Application to literacy studies; 2. Interactive presentation application; 3. Interactive learning media maker application; 4. Remote class application; 5. Group study room application; 6. Digital question practice application; 7. Book search application; 8. Language translation app; 9. Image search application; 10. Video editing application. Conclusion : The digital application supports the promotion of dental health in stunted children so that it is interesting, and memorable so that it becomes an inspiring message for mothers with dental health problems in stunted children. Abstract

Background: Dental caries is a disease that is most commonly found in the oral cavity along with periodontal disease, which occurs due to demineralization of tooth surface tissue by acids produced by orgnanisms in the mouth that interact with food waste containing sugar. Its development requires a long period of time so that many sufferers are at risk of potentially lifelong disorders. The DMF-T index shows the number and level of tooth decay, which is measured using the sum of untreated cavities or caries (D), the number of teeth that have been extracted and missing teeth (M) and the number of teeth filled (F). The aims of tis study was to analyze the incidence of dental caries among health workers in hospitals. Method: this research uses a quantitative type with a descriptive analytical design using a cross sectional method. This research was carried out in February-March 2024 at Sungai Lilin Hospita, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The population in this study were health workers at Sungai Lilin Hospital in 2024 with a sample of 183 people taken using total sampling technique. Results: Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the chi-square with α=0,05. The research results showed that the knowledge variable p value = 0,011 with an OR = 2,625, frequency of tooth brushing p value = 0,000 with an OR = 8,067 and tooth brushing technique p value = 0,000 with an OR = 4,454 on the incidence of dental caries in health workers in hospitals. Conclusion: The conclusion of the research was that there was a relationship between knowledge, frequency of tooth brushing technique with the incidence of dental caries among health workers in hospitals.
