Abstract

Backgorund: Stunting incidence in Indonesia is 21.6% which is still quite high compared to the target in 2024 of 14%. Primary prevention efforts are essential in reducing the number of stunts through mapping stunting risk factors for stunting in stunted toddlers so that intervention programs can be carried out as a stunting prevention effort. Objective: This study aims to map the risk factors for stunting incidence in stunted toddlers in Ampadi Village, Landak Regency. Method: This research includes observational research with a descriptive approach. The population of this study were all stunted toddlers in 2023 in Ampadi Village, Landak Regency, which amounted to 68 people.  The sample of this study used total sampling. Data analysis using univariate by describing risk factors in the form of percentages and in the form of mapping. Result: The results shows the prevalence of stunting reached 45.9%, with Nabo Hamlet having the highest prevalence (18.2%). The main risk factors identified were maternal age <20 years, not exclusively breastfeeding, early complementary feeding, incomplete immunization, and LBW. Dusun Nabo had the highest percentage for almost all risk factors. Conclusion: It is concluded that comprehensive and contextual interventions are urgently needed to address the stunting problem in Landak Regency. Abstract

Background: nvironmental sanitation program consists of four indicators namely water sanitation, hygiene, food and beverages sanitation, public places sanitation.. The purpose of this study was to evaluate how the environmental sanitation program. Metodh: This research used descriptive qualitative with data collection techniquesby conducting in-depth interviews toward 5 core informants and 2 triangulation informants, and for observations by using a check sheet and document review on the indicatorsof achievement report of sanitation program.. The results showed that the achievements of water sanitation indicator in 2018 were 33.7%, and 50% in 2019. This is due to the insufficient sanitation of the community's clean water facilities. The indicator achievements on hygiene and food and beverage sanitation in 2018 and 2019 were 50%, this was due to the discovery of DAMIU, which do not have hygiene and sanitation certificates. While, for public places indicator in 2018 and 2019 is 50%, this was due to the lack of facilities and infrastructure to support of sanitation program It is expected that especially environmental health staff to build an environmental health facilitator in every sub-district to assist the monitoring process, evaluation of targets and mentoring to the community. In addition, it is important to build in cooperation with the community through across programs and sectors to support the environmental sanitation programs. Abstract

Background : Stunting remains a significant public health problem in Indonesia, particularly in Kubu Raya Regency, which had the highest stunting prevalence in West Kalimantan at 40.35% in 2021. This study aimed to analyze the influence of complete basic immunization history and household nutritional consumption on stunting incidence among children under five. Method : The research employed a case-control design with a sample of 120 children under five, consisting of 60 stunted children (cases) and 60 normal children (controls) in Mega Timur and Sungai Malaya Villages, Sungai Ambawang District. Data collection used random sampling technique and data analysis used chi-square test. Results: The results showed significant relationships between complete basic immunization history (p=0.015; OR=2.704) and household nutritional consumption (p=0.040; OR=2.333) with stunting incidence. Children with incomplete immunization history had 2.7 times greater risk of experiencing stunting, while children from food-insecure households had 2.3 times greater risk of stunting. Conclusion: Basic immunization history and household nutritional consumption were identified as contributing factors to stunting incidence among under-five children. The study findings revealed significant associations between complete basic immunization history (p=0.015; OR=2.704) and household nutritional consumption (p=0.040; OR=2.333) with stunting risk in under-five children. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Linear growth failure caused by lack of nutritional intake, infection, and inadequate parenting patterns is a stunting event. This condition has an impact on increasing mortality and morbidity rates, and inhibits children's cognitive, psychomotor, and mental development. Responsive feeding is an important step for stunted toddlers to increase food acceptance and support optimal cognitive, psychomotor, and mental growth and development. This study is needed to identify behavioral features related to stunting and the factors that influence it. Methods: This study is a quantitative descriptive study, with a Quasi-Experiment One Group without Control design, and data collection techniques are carried out through direct observation. The sample was selected by purposive sampling from a population of 379 and a sample of 30 according to the criteria of families at risk of stunting and children under five years of age. Results: The results of the study obtained a p-value = 0.000. This shows that the intervention carried out has a significant effect on increasing active feeding behavior in mothers of toddlers from the early stage to the active stage. This difference can be interpreted as the success of the intervention in improving mothers' skills or consistency in active feeding, which can have a positive impact on their children's eating behavior. Conclusion: Education about nutritious menus has a significant effect on active feeding behavior in mothers of toddlers. Increasing mothers' knowledge about the importance of balanced nutritional intake has a positive impact on their ability to choose and prepare nutritious food for children. Abstract

Background: Vitamin A plays a crucial role in vision, immune system function, and reproduction, which is especially significant during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Deficiencies can lead to severe health issues for both mothers and infants. Method: This study employs a non-experimental, quantitative, analytic design using a cross-sectional approach, surveying postpartum mothers at Puskesmas Karya Maju, Keluang Musi Banyuasin, to identify factors affecting Vitamin A consumption. Results: Analysis revealed that younger mothers (age 20-35) are significantly less likely to consume Vitamin A, showing an odds ratio (OR) of 9.6 (p=0.013). Additionally, education level plays a significant role; mothers with lower education levels were 1.07 times more likely not to consume Vitamin A (p=0.011). A negative attitude was linked to a 10.3 times higher likelihood of non-consumption (p=0.014). While knowledge showed a positive correlation, it did not reach statistical significance (p=0.068). Conclusion: Educational interventions are necessary to boost Vitamin A consumption among postpartum mothers, particularly targeting younger demographics and those with less education. This will help alleviate Vitamin A deficiency, improving maternal and child health outcomes. Keywords: Vitamin A, postpartum nutrition, maternal health, education, public
