Abstract

The success of cultivating straw mushrooms depends on the quality of the mushroom spawn. In addition to genetic factors, the nutrients present in the growth medium also influence the growth of straw mushroom spawn. The study was conducted in the Biotechnology and Plant Breeding Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa Karawang University, located in Karawang Regency, from June 2023 to July 2023. The research method used was experimental with a Randomized Block Factorial Design. There were 2 factors consisting of 21 treatments. The first factor was in vitro culture media, consisting of 3 levels, namely, m1 (PDA 100%), m2 (ACBM 100%), and m3 (PDA 50% + ACBM 50%). The second factor was the straw mushroom isolates from Faperta Unsika, consisting of 7 levels, namely, i1 (Parent P), i2 (Parent S), i3 (FP0025), i4 (FP0026), i5 (FP0027), i6 (FP0034), and i7 (FP0047). Each treatment was replicated 3 times, resulting in 63 experimental units. The treatment effects were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and if the F-test was significant, the best treatment was determined using DMRT at the 5% significance level. The results showed an interaction between the three different in vitro media and several isolates of F3 straw mushrooms (Volvariella volvaceae) from Faperta Unsika on mycelial colony diameter and mycelial growth rate. Treatment with the straw mushroom isolate (Volvariella volvaceae) Faperta Unsika FP034 on the medium (PDA 50% + ACBM 50%) resulted in the highest mycelial growth with a colony diameter of 8 cm and a mycelial growth rate of 2.22 cm/day on day 1 to day 2. Keywords: mycelia, isolate faperta unsika, straw mushroom, media nutrision, red rice wash water media

Abstract

Red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) belongs to the Solanaceae plant family and is one of the important vegetable crops in Indonesia. The demand for red chilies is getting higher day by day and to meet consumer needs both in terms of quality and quantity, it is necessary to increase red chili production. One effort to increase production is by implementing Double Fold Production Technology (Proliga) for red chilies. Proliga Technology (Double Production) is a technology package whose aim is to double chili production. The aim of this experiment is to determine the growth of local varieties of red chili (Capsicum annum L.) by applying the double production technology package (Proliga) and farmer technology in the vegetative phase. The experiment was carried out from August to September 2020 at the BPTP (Agricultural Technology Assessment Center) Sukarami, Gunung Talang District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra. The experiment was carried out on 2 treatments, namely: A (Red chili plants using proliga technology), and B (Red chili plants using farmer technology). Each treatment consisted of 3 replications and each replication contained 5 experimental samples so that the total number of experiments was 30 samples of red chili plants. From the results of the experiments that have been carried out, it can be concluded that good growth of chili plants during the vegetative period can be seen from the number of shoots and number of leaves found in treatments using proliga technology (double production). Meanwhile, good growth of chili plants during the vegetative period can be seen from plant height in treatments using farmer technology. However, if observations are continued until 7 weeks after planting (WAP), it is estimated that good results will be obtained, namely proliga technology because based on data on the increase in height of chili plants using proliga technology at the age of 6 WAP, there has been a significant increase and has almost succeeded in catching up with the height of chili plants using farmer technology. with a difference of 0.3 cm. Keywords: red chili, proliga technology, vegetative

Abstract

Gardening and planting flowers is a fun and relaxing hobby for some people. The obstacle that arises is the availability of maintenance time, especially for watering plants. However, maintaining flower plants for those of us who are busy workers often experience maintenance time constraints. Busy owners cannot pay adequate attention and this results in delays in watering which result in plants not being able to grow and develop properly or dying. On the other hand, excessive watering will cause plants to become susceptible to illness due to excessive/high water levels. This research is aimed at producing a solution in the form of a system that can keep the water content in plant pots balanced using an automatic watering mechanism or based on remote control. Apart from that, it also uses the Blynk application installed on the smartphone to monitor soil moisture values, temperature values and watering notifications. The watering results show the watering categories including a lot, moderate, little and no watering. This research produces a tool that can water rose plants automatically according to temperature and humidity sensors with notifications on smartphones. The result is a prototype automatic plant watering IoT system with Arduino and smartphone control. Based on testing using the black box method, this system is operational and solves research problems. Keywords: plant, IoT, watering, floricuture

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays L. var. saccharata) is a variety of corn that differs from regular corn due to its sweet taste, which is caused by its high sugar content. The productivity of sweet corn in the country is still low compared to other producing countries. The application of humic acid soil conditioner can enhance the absorption of micro and macro elements in plants. Humic acid can also improve plant growth by increasing bioavailability and nutrients through soil environment improvement around the roots. This study aims to determine the effect of humic acid soil conditioner and the appropriate dosage on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The study used a Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 treatment levels: (H0: without humic acid soil conditioner (control), H1: 5 kg/ha, H2: 10 kg/ha, H3: 15 kg/ha). The results showed that the application of humic acid soil conditioner can increase plant height, cob diameter, and cob length of sweet corn. The best dosage of humic acid organic fertilizer for the growth and yield of sweet corn is 15 kg/ha. Keywords : sweet corn, soil conditioner, humic acid

Abstract

Cayenne pepper or small chili (Capsicum frutescens L.) is an important horticultural crop in Indonesia which is most widely consumed by the community so that chili production has a very high potential and economic value for farmers also affects high economic value and is useful as a flavoring dish. This cayenne pepper plant is easy to grow in the lowlands and highlands and contains nutrients needed by the human body. Chili is a vegetable commodity that is not wasteful of land because it is more concerned with its cultivation technology to be improved so that production increases. Intensive cultivation and care of chili peppers and further using post-harvest technology creates new jobs. Some of the vitamin content contained in chili peppers includes vitamin C antioxidants that can prevent several diseases such as cancer and vitamin B which can improve digestion, help increase immunity and avoid the body from bacterial disease. One way to increase the yield of cayenne pepper plants is to increase soil productivity, using the addition of NPK fertilizer. This study used a factorial randomized group design (RAK). For accuracy in this study, it was repeated 3 times. namely: NPK fertilizer (N) with 3 levels, namely: N0 = Control, N1 = 15 g/plant, and N2 = 20 g/plant. From the ANOVA test results, the variance of treatments that have a significant effect is continued with the Duncan DMRT test at the 5% level. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the effect of NPK fertilizer treatment on plant height 2 weeks and 3 weeks, stem diameter (mm) 1 week, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks, and the number of flowers showed a significant effect. While the observation of plant height at 1 st, number of flowers, number of fruits per sample plant (g), and weight of fruits per sample plant showed no significant effect. The best average NPK fertilizer treatment is the treatment level N2 = 20 g/plant. Keywords: NPK fertilizer, NPK dosage, and cayenne pepper plants
