Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that causes morbidity and mortality in the world where 9.4% of deaths each year are due to complications of hypertension. Hypertension is characterized by an increase in systolic pressure> 140 mmHg and diastole> 90 mmHg. Dry cupping is an alternative therapy used in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The aim of the study: to determine the effect of dry cupping therapy on blood pressure in primary hypertensive patients. This study is a Quasi-experimental with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design approach. The number of samples was 15 patients with primary hypertension who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Measurement of data using digital tension onemed brand. Data analysis using Paired T Test. The results showed that the systolic blood pressure obtained a p value of 0.000 and the diastolic blood pressure obtained a p value of 0.001 which means that there is an effect of systolic  and diastolic blood pressure before and after being given dry cupping therapy. Dry cupping therapy can be used as an alternative therapy for patients with primary hypertension.

Abstract

Children’s future is determined by the children growth. Early detection of child development is carried out through careful monitoring of motor development, cognitive development and psychosocial development. Many factors can influence a child in carrying out his developmental tasks. This study aims to prove the duration of parents interaction as factors related to the possibility of deviation in the development of children aged 1-3 years in South Denpasar District. This study used a cross-sectional design. The technique for selecting the research location was done by multi-stage. The sample in this study was selected by using a saturated sample with 118 children in child care centers in South Denpasar District. Data collection was carried out by interviewing and filling out a questionnaire, using the development pre-screening questionnaire (KPSP). Data were analyzed by using chi-square test and logistic regression. There were 82.2% of children experienced appropriate development and 17.8% of children indicated that there was a possibility of developmental deviations. The results of bivariate and multivariate analysis showed that there were 3 variables that were significantly related to the possibility of deviations in child development, namely child care (AOR = 5,517; 95% CI: 1.13-26.84), length of interaction between parents (AOR = 4,160; 95% CI: 1.22-14.11), and the age of the child (A OR = 4.242; 95% CI: 1.47-12.18). Other variables such as gender, parents’ educational background, parents’ job and parents’ salary are not related to the possibility of deviations in child development. The duration of interaction and the child's age correlate to children developmental deviations. g of motor development, cognitive development and psychosocial development. Abstract

Mitral valve replacement (MVR) is a heart surgery procedure that is performed to replace a patient's mitral valve using an artificial heart valve among patients with moderate to severe mitral valve damage with symptomatic, or asymptomatic. Patients who undergo preoperative MVR might have experience including physical discomfort such as shortness of breath, fatigue, edema due to reduced mitral valve function. Patients also had psychological discomfort such as feeling anxious about the surgical procedure. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of applying Katharine Kolcaba's theory of comfort to clients with preoperative MVR. The research method is a descriptive observational case study with a nursing care approach from the assessment stage, determining the diagnosis, planning, implementing actions, and evaluating one patient with preoperative MVR. The results of data analysis showed that the patient experienced physical discomfort in the form of decreased cardiac output, activity intolerance, and also psychological discomfort, namely anxiety. Comfort interventions are provided in the form of comfort standards, coaching, comfort food for the soul. The comfort theory of Katharine kolcaba is rightly applied to MVR preoperative nursing care which is characterized by a decrease in the anxiety scale, and the patient expresses his readiness to undergo surgery.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving meditation on hypertension in the elderly. Method: This type of pre-experimental research with the design of One group Pre test-posttest Design. The total sample of 20 people was selected by purposive sampling technique. The tools used to collect data are a sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope. Result: The mean systolic blood pressure was 169.25 mmHg and diastole was 101.75 mmHg. The result shows the effect of giving meditation on hypertension in the elderly. Discussion: relaxation meditation which is centered on breathing will increase the circulation of oxygen to the muscles, so the muscles will relax, blood pressure will decrease.

Abstract

Pollutant metals from vehicles with leaded gasoline can accumulate in the body, attack important organs, and even damage the quality of offspring. Lead poisoning (Pb) can be experienced by workshop workers through vehicle fumes that are being repaired. Chronic lead poisoning (Pb) most often is weakness, anorexia, miscarriage, tremors, weight loss, headaches and digestive tract symptoms. Lead entering the bloodstream can cause hypertension, this is because lead can lead to increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study aims to determine the relationship between the content of lead levels in blood with the occurrence of hypertension in workshop workers. Examination of blood lead levels is carried out using MPAES tools and blood pressure checks are carried out using digital tensimeter devices. The results showed that there was a correlation between blood lead levels and blood pressure in workshop workers in Gianyar Regency in 2019 with the bivariate Pearson correlation test producing sig. (2-tailed) of 0.008 <0.05 showed a correlation between variable levels of lead in blood with blood pressure (hypertension).

Abstract

Background: The learning activities carried out by students so far only rely more on lecture subjects. This is felt to be less challenging and enthusiastic in carrying out the learning process. This is evident from the decline in student interest in attending every lecture that is carried out. Of course, motivation in learning will be greatly influenced by many factors, internal or external. The application of certain learning models is expected to be able to help students achieve learning targets. It is expected that the thinik-pair-square type of cooperative learning model can increase student learning motivation. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of the think-pair-square (TPS) cooperative learning model on critical nursing learning motivation. Methods: This study used a research design with one group pretest-posttest technique. data collection using purposive sampling. The questionnaire was tested using the Rasch Model to see its reliability and validity and the logit result was 0.89. Results: The results of this study indicate that the majority of respondents are women as much as 85%. Based on the results of different tests using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test in the treatment group, the significance value was less than 0.05 which proved that there were differences in motivation before and after being given treatment. Conclusion: Changes in the motivation value of students after being given a different type of think-pair-square learning indicate that this method was successful for students in conducting critical nursing learning.
