Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the L2 motivational self-system of English department students, as well as the relationship between e-learning and L2 motivational self-system. The research was carried out at a private university in a small town in East Java, Indonesia. The research design used in this study was quantitative. To collect data from students, the L2MSS and e-learning questionnaires were distributed, and the data was analyzed using the statistical method of Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results show that the instrumentally –promotion sub-factor of students' L2MSS has the highest mean (M = 72.03, SD = 8.87). It means that the students make an effort to achieve their goal of learning English in order to obtain a better job and earn more money in the future. Integrativeness, on the other hand, has the lowest mean (M = 16.25, SD = 1.66), indicating that students put less effort into learning about the culture and art of native speakers of the target language. Furthermore, the Pearson correlation output shows that, despite the moderate correlation, there is a positive correlation between e-learning and L2 motivational self-system. The relationship between internet-based learning and student motivation is an important factor to investigate. Because technology is such an important part of higher education, it is necessary to improve teaching quality. It is suggested that more research be done using a mixed method approach to learn more about the students L2MSS in other areas with different characteristics.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how to optimize the use of distance learning methods in supporting students' cognitive abilities to continue optimal during self-learning at home. So, to answer the problem, researchers will use two indicator instruments, is distance learning to cognitive students and technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) to the cognitive students. While the method used in this study is a survey method because there needs to be testing and proving how to distance learning and technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). The dependent variables to the study are cognitive students (SC) and the independent variables are distance learning (DL) and technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). There to answer the problem requires comprehensive data collection. This study used a saturated sampling of about 197 teachers obtained from SMK Pawyatan Daha 1 Kediri, SMK PGRI 2 Kediri, and SMKN 1 Bondowoso. Determination of population sampling and samples used in this study because the three places have implemented technology-based distance learning that using virtual meeting media (google classroom, zoom or google meet) and non-virtual meeting media (WhatsApp, telegram, youtube, etc.) as a balanced complement in the face of self-study policies by students. Data collection was conducted from June to October 2020 by adopting an online questionnaire. The results of theoretical and statistical studies concluded that distance learning was carried out in all three vocational high schools (SMK Pawyatan Daha 1 Kediri, SMK PGRI 2 Kediri, and SMKN 1 Bondowoso). Able to affect the cognitive abilities of students, especially when combined with the ability of teachers in master technology, content, and classes. Therefore, the two components should not be separated in supporting the success of distance learning, so that the achievement of goals in improving cognitive students can be done optimally.

This research is descriptive research with quantitative method. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire given via google form, where the data analysis technique is to see the achievement of the existing indicators. The subjects of this study were postgraduate students of technology and vocational education in the 2020 entry year of the Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University. Based on data analysis, it was found that quantitative data, indicators of learning objectives were seen that the respondent's achievement level (TCR) reached 77.20% with sufficient category. The indicator of learning infrastructure shows that the TCR reaches 82.07% with a good category. The indicator of the ability to use technology is seen that the TCR reaches 81.18% in the good category. The time efficiency indicator shows that the TCR reaches 81.93% with a good category. Indicators of learning outcomes seen that the TCR reached 86.70%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of E-learning as a learning medium during the COVID-19 pandemic is categorized as effective, it can be seen from the results of research on 5 indicators, there are 4 indicators which are in good category and 1 is in sufficient category.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe the implementation of the evaluation of the Block Learning learning innovation program at MAN 2 Lubuk Pakam. This research method is qualitative research and uses an evaluation model that is in accordance with the theme adopted, namely the CSE-UCLA Evaluation Model with five stages carried out in the evaluation, namely planning, development, implementation, results and impact. The results of this study are 1. The effectiveness of block learning learning innovations at MAN 2 Lubuk Pakam really helps the learning process, not only material that is easy to understand, from an economic perspective it also helps parents of students, this innovation is also very effectively applied in MAN 2 Lubuk Pakam , because the learning carried out produces positive things where students understand the material better, and it is better than online learning with Google Class Room or others, in the previous semester. 2. Evaluation of the block learning innovation program at MAN 2 Lubuk Pakam, namely: a. the planning carried out to start the Block Learning program has shown that the process has been carried out well because it involves many people and has determined several things that are needed for the implementation of the Block Learning program well in the future b. the development of the Block Learning learning innovation program was carried out well where the development was carried out in the even semester to the implementation in the previous semester, namely the odd semester regarding the effectiveness of the time for collecting teacher material in the field of study, thus this program will continue to improve if it continues to be developed in the future. c. the implementation of the implementation of block learning shows that the implementation is very structured, it can be seen that the sequence from the beginning from the formulation of the material to the distribution of the learning blocks and the collection of tasks carried out by the students is carried out in an orderly manner. d. the results of the program are very significant and include all the goals at the beginning of program planning where to anticipate declining learning in the previous semester, and to help the economy of parents who were hit by the covid 19 pandemic outbreak, the things that were planned had been implemented properly and resulted in results. amazing. and e. This Block Learning does not have a follow-up for the future, because this program is only for dealing with learning during a pandemic that requires PJJ (Distance Learning)..

Abstract

Changing the way of learning process during the pandemic have made a point to find an appropriate approach in online leaning. This study aims to analyze language learning process in the first year of the pandemic, where the language needs a practice in the process of learning. In other words, language learning really requires direct interaction, this condition is added that not all colleges are ready for online learning either through LMS or other online forms which are already familiar by offline interactions. This study uses qualitative descriptive with deeply observations during the classes, and used the diffusion of innovation by Rogers which consists on stages of innovation. The research found the conceptualization of learning through online-collaborative, and using the online collaborative exam between groups has proven the willingness in interactive e-learning language and to be able to improve the competence of language skills, both listening, writing, reading, and speaking which are needed in the language process of university students whose vocabulary and English are still unfamiliar used in the introduction in each course in Indonesia

Finding of this study were analyzed through a synthesis research. The current empirical studies related to AR implementation in education were descriptively analyzed, and carefully synthesized. AR is one of the emerging technologies which has a big promise on teaching and learning. This study reveals that AR may offer a meaningful and engaging learning experiences because AR based learning can provide critical thinking activity with problem solving tasks. Furthermore, well-designed AR may situate a collaborative learning which can enhance students’ positive behavior and attitude. However, this essay also reveals some limitations of AR application need to be taken into consideration, especially when it comes to technological and learning issues. Consequently, AR may not be the ideal solution for all learning settings, yet the ongoing development of AR technology on handheld mobile devices offers a big optimism for future learning. It is highly expected that the vast development of AR may positively influence learning and become more significant in the future.
